   Food quality and service remain very good. The noise level is almost intolerable. There are so many hard surfaces for noise to bounce off of with little else to absorb sound. It's nearly impossible to have a conversation at busy hours without screaming. Not a good vibe.

   Good food and service. Nice place. Seems to be a neighborhood attraction. A few small kids but not a lot. Chocolate cake was excellent. Veal special was very good. Cheeseburger was very good.

   The food was good the service was excellent. It was a very comfortable relaxed setting. We stayed for a while talking and they did not rush us out. Overall it was quite an enjoyable experience.

   We eat out a lot at various restaurants so I have experience. At the Frick Park Tavern I had the blackened salmon entree. I rarely finish a meal at most restaurants because there’s way too much food, and the preparation is rarely done well. The opposite was true of the Frick Park Tavern. The salmon was cooked perfectly, yummy potatoes, and asparagus. Just the right amount. I finished every bite. Great service on a very busy night. We can’t wait to go back. Our table of six gave rave reviews to this excellent restaurant.

    We were looking for a 7:30 dinner in Arsenal/Lawrenceville. With nothing available, Open Table came up with nearby suggestions (I didn’t know the app did that!). FPT came up and we made the reservation! The location is welcoming and the team is more “welcominger” - lol! This is a neighborhood grill with a diverse menu including their personalized takes on meatloaf and chicken parmesan (what we enjoyed) that was more than comfort food! Our cocktail starters and limoncello cake dessert made our evening beyond expectations. So try the taste of Regent Square - we shall be back!!

    We had a new waitress so some of these will be fixed in time. There were four of us there for dinner. The restaurant was busy. After what seemed a long time after we placed our orders the waitress came back and admitted she had not submitted our order and lost her notes. So we had to reorder and wait a longer time. One person ordered a draft beer. He had to ask three times for a second beer and one time they brought a mixed drink to him. I had an order that included fries. I like ketchup so asked for more. I was told the restaurant had run out of ketchup. Really?

    Sarah is an excellent waitress. Attentive service, always at this place Really enjoy the Reuben sandwich, chicken soup with rice, and salads. Especially love the asparagus and arugula salad. I’ll definitely order it next time too. Noise level when we first arrived at 5 PM was low, but as the restaurant filled up, it became noisier than I prefer. Nevertheless, there’s good energy there, with a lot of happy people enjoying this neighborhood restaurant. I wish the restaurant were open for lunch, too, especially on weekends.

    We had dinner with another couple on a Saturday night at 7. The place was packed, particularly because it started raining sand the 3-4 tables of customers outside all came in. So it was quite noisy. The food was all very good. I had the blackened salmon, my wife the crab cakes, and our friends the half chicken and fettuccine with shrimp. All were cooked perfectly. Our waitress was attentive, but not overly so. The bar service was a little slow, but again it was very busy. All in all a very positive experience we would be happy to repeat.

    The food is excellent here and I'd definitely return. Very nice wait staff. We could have used a children's menu but didn't know one was available as our group (with a toddler) wasn't offered one. The only down side to our experience.

    We dine at Frick Park Tavern frequently and last evening was the first experience that was not up to previous visits. Table was a problem as we were right in the middle of the tables and closer to bar, maybe this was reason for the cacophony and din. Service and food were good. Restaurant changed steak to a hanger steak, might be better to go back to previous selection or a really great piece of meat.

    Overall we enjoyed dinner here. There were obviously many new employees so service was pretty slow but they were all super nice and had a good attitude even when it was probably a struggle to do so. The prices are a bit high but anywhere worth going will be that way. The food was excellent and the drinks were so good!

    Ordered mussels which arrived barely warm despite the dish being very warm. When I asked for them to be heated the person (not our original waiter who was wonderful) made a sour face and took the dish away with a sense of annoyance. The mussels reappeared barely warmer a few minutes later and when the original waiter reappeared I had them reheated a second time.

    Got together with my family before a play at Chatham University. Really appreciate the ability to make reservations, it allowed us to not have to worry about waiting and possibly not getting to the play on time. Meal was excellent and everyone was really nice! Second time eating here and both meals were delicious!!!

    We had never been to Frick Park Tavern but decided to try it based on the reviews. We had the Brussels sprouts and warm bread for an appetizer. Both delicious! The bacon in the Brussels was so good!! The butter for bread had a lovely lemon flavor. The grilled cheese and tomato soup looked amazing and my daughter loved it! My husband said the salmon was cooked perfectly. Everyone tasted my shot rib orecchiette and thought it was so flavorful. Overall a great meal with friendly and attentive service. We will definitely be back soon on another visit to Pittsburgh

    While we overall enjoyed our meal at Frick Park Tavern, the food was very uneven. They clearly have talented prep staff, but the final product of our dishes was hit or miss. This was our first time there. 1- Brussels sprouts app: excellent, perfection, no notes. Great start. 2- French onion soup: really good. 3- Entrees, we had the meatloaf and the catch of the day. This is where things got uneven. Meatloaf: the meatloaf itself and its gravy were tasty. The broccolini it came with was good. But the potatoes were awful - both too wet and too dry, tasted like they had been held too long in a steam table. An unappetizing gray color. Catch of the day was a pasta dish with rock shrimp and scallops and cavatelli pasta. The execution of this one really suffered. The dish was missing several ingredients listed on the menu - no asparagus, no roasted garlic flavor. But it was unexpectedly spicy - flecks of hot pepper floated in the “sauce,” not listed on the menu. And the “sauce” was just a thin broth, there was no richness or texture. The seafood was fine - the scallops were tender and tasted nice but needed a darker sear, and the shrimp tasted like they had just poached in the thin broth. The pine nuts added nothing to the dish. The yellow bell peppers hadn’t been cooked at all and were too crunchy and raw. Disappointing for a $32 dish. 5-Desserts were also mixed, my salted caramel panna cotta didn’t look quite right but tasted really nice and homemade, however, my spouse’s chocolate cake was definitely an item purchased from elsewhere (such as sisco or other food warehouse type provider) and didn’t have any finesse or nuance. It just tasted like a block of chocolate. Drinks were good but the pour on the expensive cocktails was a little stingy. I don’t mind a $15 cocktail as long as it takes me a while to drink it. We’ll probably go back but stick to the appetizers and maybe try their less ambitious fare, like burgers/salads, to keep the bill a little lower.

    I have to finally write a review as this was another return trip for us to the former Dunnings site where our family frequented weekly. Jim and his staff has transformed this restaurant as a unique and very desirable dining destination. At 8:30 pm on a friday night, the place was bustling with satisfied diners. Unusual for Pittsburgh for sure. The staff is well trained (special shout out to Nina), as service is every bit a part of a wonderful dining experience as the food is. Speaking of food, Jim has created an interesting menu that allows you to be adventurous or conservative with comfort food items. Daily specials also provide interesting choices and are reflective of any special food days (no meat fridays). It is so heartening to know that we have such a great dining option within walking distance of our home and a great spot to take friends traveling from other parts of Pittsburgh. I would highly, highly recommend you experience FPT the next time you are near Regent Square.

    We had great food and good service on a Saturday night. Love this local spot. We had the toast of the day (cheddar and caramelized onion) and salmon salad, one from the menu and the Caesar with salmon. Delish. Cocktails were great also.
