Our food was outstanding, service was super, and the atmosphere is wonderful! They had a fish fry special and it was amazing... the batter was so crisp, the fries were perfect, fresh coleslaw, house made tartar, but the surprise was the rye- it's a house-made rye with a savory butter... wow! My date had the ribeye, was so flavorful with great sides (fondant potatoes- yum!) We finished with a creme brûlée, and it was perfect. Our server was awesome and attentive as well. Thank you for a great night!

We were able to beat the rush after our show at the PAC but it definitely picked up shortly after arriving around 5:30p. We ordered the Osyter Mushrooms, Carrot Salad, Ocean Trout and Gnocchi. All were delicious! As a couple that always shares, we embraced the kitchens style of bringing out our dishes as they were ready and not when both of our choices were ready. We hope to be back to grab a drinks and a couple other delicious sounding options we were eyeing up on the menu!

Got here at 7 with my boyfriend. We were traveling from Chicago and did not have crazy expectations... but we were incredible surprised at how incredible Fress was. From the decor to the staff to the food. Everything was 10/10. The portions were big and moderately priced. Delicious delicious delicious. Perfect cooked short ribs, incredible appetizers. This place is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to food wise. It’s enough to make the 3 hour trip back just to go again. MUST GO!

Tried a bit of everything on the tapas menu. Kimchi, pickled egg, charcuterie, pasta. The gnocchis are awesome. Great wine list!

The food and ambiance were very good. My wife and I had the charcuterie and some small plates which we enjoyed (shrimp risotto and kimchi). It was a fun and eclectic variety of flavors. The service from Kim was excellent and we rcvd lots of smiles and positive exchanges with other members of the staff. Overall a very good experience, we will definitely go back again. Happy to see more places like this in Appleton!

The food is over the top. Try the sweet potato dish! It’s amazing. Loved ordering and sharing. The service is always welcoming from the minute you walk in the door.

We ate early; it was still quiet but picked by the time we left. Service was prompt but unpressured and friendly. We had the Gold Fashioned and Toronto cocktails, both nice and concentrated drinks, not too sweet. We shared the beets appetizer, it was an excellent variety of styles, from fresh to marinated. We split the Lake Trout entree. It came with generous amounts of cauliflower and braised fennel. For desert we split a chocolate cake and had cups of Bailey's coffee. This was excellent food, cooked carefully and served with style. It is expensive for the area, but worth it.

This is our third trip to Fress and each time has been amazing. We like to come with friends who have never been to introduce them to, what we think, is the best restaurant in the area. This past Wednesday was fantastic, and our friends were also duly impressed with everything, the food, the wine, the special service, everything. As one of my friend said "everything is so unique and the flavor profiles bring something new and wonderful to our palettes". There were four of us so we shared 4 small plates, four large plates and three deserts. And even at that, there were items that we would have liked to try. Oh, well. I guess we will just have to return and enjoy some more!!!

Seriously the best restaurant in Appleton if not the state.

Scallops were fishy and sandy. Not what we expected at a fine dining establishment. The charcuterie board was ok, nothing special. Overall menu was overpriced and ambiance was lacking.

I sent a group of businessmen to Fress for a Tuesday night dinner. The restaurant was very quiet - hardly any others in the dining room. The menu posted on their website is different from the one given by the server. After appetizers were ordered, the server had to come back to tell them some of the items were no longer available on the menu and that she had given them the wrong menu. She gave them yet another menu (different from the online menu, so menu #3) and they ordered off it. Some of the food items were good, some of them were not so good. In short, I won't be sending another group to the restaurant. One of the guys said they don't care to go back, one said he'd give it another try on his own. Not a great first impression :(

Overall a great experience. It was apparent the amount of work that goes into preparing the delicious plates. Very unique variety for everyone's taste. Beer selection was VERY weak, and would be the only real point of improvement the restaurant could make.

Music was a bit loud and fast for the atmosphere. Felt more club than high end dinning. Overall the food was well prepared. Service was good.

Dress has the best scallops I’ve ever eaten, they melt in your mouth!

We visited the restaurant on a Friday evening. The atmosphere is excellent and the food was fantastic. The only thing I would say that is a drawback is, if you are HUNGRY, then plan on ordering quite a few plates of food to share. I think that next time we go, which we will, we are going to go there to enjoy food as more of an appetizer and have some drinks. For a meal, it just seems that many plates need to be ordered so that you can feel FULL. If you have a big appetite, this may not be the best choice for you for dinner.

A relatively new restaurant in downtown Appleton. Not a large menu, but interesting selections. Very enjoyable. Will be back.

The Parisienne Gnocchi was delicious as were the Beets. The service was excellent. We expect this when choose Fress. It has been the norm for the 4 times we have dined there.

Amazing food. Every single time we go the food is always incredible. Kim, our waitress, was kind, cared about all of her tables, and new what she was talking about when you asked questions. I will always recommend Fress as the first restaurant I tell people to try here in Appleton.

Was trying to have a conversation but the server kept coming to our table every 2 minutes. He asked if we have any dietary restrictions, told him we are vegetarian and then his next sentence was that in today’s special we have foie gras and the duck breast. Really? Every 2 minutes he is coming over asking if we are still doing ok ? This was highly frustrating especially when the place was not packed.

Superb! Service was excellent (thanks, Melissa & Potsie) and the food was delicious. From the Fress Fare we sampled the agnolotti (creamy squash goodness), the scallops (perfectly grilled and seasoned), the gnocchi, and the fries. Next time we will do the duck confit for sure. Excellent brewed coffee with thick cream and the apple tarte a la mode with caramel sauce for dessert. Well done dining, Fress!

Molly is one of the waitresses there. And she is honestly incredible. She wasn’t even our waitress that night but remembered my grandma and I when we came in. Not only is the food incredible. But Molly alone would be a reason for me to return

Celebrating our 36th wedding anniversary!

Great staff. One of the guests in our party was delayed in arriving (by 45 minutes) and our server handled it in stride. It all went seamlessly. When our last guest arrived we tried to order the scallops but they didn’t have a serving left. A few minutes later the chef came out and presented us with the last scallop they had in the kitchen, without charge. Nice touch. This is a fine place. We’ll keep coming back.

This was our first time at Fress. The menu is very limited but what we ordered was good. For what we had I thought the bill was steep.

Went there for my Bday - this is the 2nd time there for my wife and me. IT WAS OUTSTANDING. We were able to sit my the kitchen and enjoyed watching the chefs. Can't wait to go back.
