We had a great experience at Fresko last night! Jacob was our server and treated us so well. We loved our drinks and the food! The happy hour specials were a great value and we left with our left-over boxes and feeling great! We will be back soon!

This was my first visit to Fresko. I will most definitely go back. Reserving a table was simple on the website. The atmosphere is relaxed yet a little upscale feel. There were 4 people in my party which we all had something different. We all enjoyed our dishes. I had a Bloody Mary which was fantastic! Our server was Katie. She was friendly, accommodating and had a great sense of humor. Overall wonderful experience!

Our server (Emily) was fantastic! She noticed my husband’s burger was undercooked right after he started eating it and got it replaced quickly! Both of our dishes were very good. I had the squash salad. The wonderful chocolate birthday dessert was delicious! We enjoyed our dinner. Thanks!

Not only does the culinary team at Fresko know how to make every ingredient shine in everything from food to drinks, they have the service to back it up. Our server, Ryan, ensured that our orders got put in quickly to make sure that we didn't miss out on popular items and brought my fiance an extra dessert for his birthday. Also, if you've never had the crab stuffed walleye I highly recommend! Another great experience at Fresko!

Found out that menus were misprinted to say dishes were gluten free but were not. Luckily I asked to double check that the stuffed pork chop didn’t need to be modified to be gluten free before ordering so I didn’t end up sick. Feedback from social media states these menus have been wrong for awhile-I’d think a sharpie and 30 minutes of crossing out could literally save someone from being deathly sick. Probably won’t be in a hurry to go back.

The appetizer was wonderful. I highly recommend the pig wings. Three of the four entrees were acceptable. The steak sandwich was reported to be light and steak and low on flavor.

The walleye stuffed with crab served over risotto was delicious. Mussels solid. House music too loud, lights too bright. Wait staff wonderful. Other dishes were sub par. Hangar steak was overly sauced and under cooked.

My experience at Fresko was excellent. We were seated earlier than our reservation. Our waiter was great. He gave us the right amount of time, was very courteous and friendly and provided great suggestions. The dinner special was good, but I have had better flank steak. All other food and drink items were excellent.

We enjoyed our visit. I had the crab stuffed walleye and my wife had the scallops. Both entrees were excellent. The Fresko salad was delicious & vibrant. Dessert was vanilla bean creme brule. I also enjoyed the peach pie old fashioned. Definitely worth the visit. We sat in the bar for a more casual experience. However, our server was excellent. Perfect timing on stops at the table along with being personable & friendly.

While open for 2+ years, they are clearly not yet ready for prime time. 6:00 p.m. in this case with the place only approximately ½ full at this point. Do not plan to be in a hurry as the service, both the kitchen and the bar, is SLOW, SLOW, SLOW, yet they appear to be fully staffed. 15+ minute wait for cocktails, and the second cocktail had clearly sat for pickup for a while as it had clearly been refreshed to the brim with more ice before delivery. Three of us ordered the nightly special entre involving a flank steak. This entre presentation should have been fully described in advance either on the menu or by the server as we all presumed it would be plated vs. "bowled". Nothing worse than getting the dinner time equivalent of a breakfast bowl. The server did relate that the chef recommended not more than medium rare for the steak. No problem as MR is my standard. When finally served the steak portion was, at best, medium well (brown). Sent it back. Finally received my meal when everyone else in my party was finished. I refuse to eat by myself while my party is forced to then wait on me. Had them box it up so we could move on. Presumed they'd comp my meal, but NO. A very unsatisfactory experience. BTW, in an earlier life I've been a food server, waiter trainer, bar tender who trained dozens of new bartenders, a maitre di, and a sommelier.

We were visiting Des Moines for a sporting event. We found Fresko on the OpenTable site. It did not disappoint. Everything from the atmosphere to the service to the food was fantastic. Highly recommend!

We were greeted and seated rapidly with excellent brunch service commencing immediately. The food and beverage selections were outstanding. Went with the lamb wrap, subbed sautéed greens and shrimp tacos. Flavors in all dishes revealed expert preparation. All ingredients were extremely fresh and carefully selected. An outstanding experience.

New Years Eve. Made a reservation to ensure a table, early to not be out late. Our server was amazing and the food was delish. Everything came out at once. Normally I’d be annoyed but it was all so delicious it was fine. Slow bar. Not great table.
