We offer a range of small plates, hot and cold, which remix French classics - Escargot toasts, Steak Tartare, Tartines, Salmon Tartare, Foie Gras, Steak Frites, Salads, along with Cheese and Charcuterie boards and French desserts: Mousse au Chocolat, Crème Brûlée... Everything is made in house with love, we start from scratch everyday and use only local produces.
The star of our drink menu is definitely the wine, more than 30 references by the glass! But we also serve beers, ciders and cocktails crafted by our mixologists.
We are located in our beloved South End in Boston, MA.
Talk. Sip. Bite. Repeat.
I’ve always wanted to like this place but it is consistently mediocre at best. The service and ambiance are fine. I’ve returned to this restaurant several times over two or three years and the food has been consistently bad. The escargot toast was drowned in at least a cup of butter making the toast soggy and far too greasy. The frites that came with the steak frites were limp and cold. Literally not one frite was crispy. The steak was fine but underdone and the bernaise sauce was almost non-existent. The food was so bad this time they’ve finally convinced me NOT to come back here.
It’s a cozy, trendy spot. The service is slow and forgetful, but if you’re not in a rush, like we weren’t, it was fine to just enjoy the ambiance. The food was decent, nothing special, considering there are other tapas places in the city that do the exact same dishes for a lesser cost. Definitely worth a visit, maybe just not multiple.
Excellent food and excellent service. Will certainly be back.
Celebrated a family birthday with a brunch with relatives. Beautiful setting and warm service. We all enjoyed our meals and will be coming back.
Tres bien! I will be back. Wine selection is amazing.
Exceptional experience all around. Wonderful meal and friendly staff. Beautiful decor.
Been wanting to try and happy to be there on a weekday night where not too loud and good service. Brusell sprouts amazing. We both ordered as our first course. I love eating steak frites out. This was not the best version. Steak was overcooked and tough. N
Personable staff that always remembers us👍👍Broccoli appetizer is amazing as well as the salmon Tartar
I think Frenchie is good for a cute brunch, but every time I go, I think two things:
1. They need to be better at cooling the main dining area, it's always SO HOT in there and in the greenhouse
2. The bathrooms need to be cleaner
Otherwise, it's fun to go with one or two or three friends and have a good brunch
Amazing food and wine. Seating very cramped because the place is so small (Three of us crammed into a table for two), but the taste makes up for it.
Excellent service, food and wine
Love Frenchie. Great food and atmosphere. I wish they had a full bar. We would go there far more frequently
Lovely restaurant with beautiful decor and great food. We really enjoyed our brunch (particularly the salmon eggs benedict) - food, service, and drinks were all excellent. I look forward to returning to Frenchie soon during the evening to try their dinner menu and great wine list!
Food was good, service could've been better. Overall, an average experience.
Service is a little slow but the food came fast and was incredible. I will definitely be back for a good vibe and good food
Loved our waitress and the ambience!!
A hidden Gem! This resto is delightful in both the food and ambiance. It is authentically french, with a bit of a twist. I love going back and always try something new; I have yet to be disappointed. My favourite is the solarium in the back (you can't reserve and need to arrive early). The staff and the drinks also make this place a hit.
Picture a completely average diner that serves normal breakfast fare. Now double the prices. That's Frenchie. There's nothing special about this place other than being in a hip neighborhood serving to the monolithic 30- and 40-something crowd. If that's your kind of place, good for you-- you'll enjoy your experience. If you want a normal breakfast/brunch, just pick any of the other 2000 places in the Boston area and you'll get an identical experience. Or just make it at home... it's not that difficult to make average coffee and a croque madame.
Great Location, Great Food, Awesome Service
Very nice appetizer options, nice atmosphere and knowledgeable server. Good and affordable wine options. Good surprise!
Mediocre and nothing special. Menu is quite uninspiring. I have moved to Boston about a year ago and really surprised restaurants like Frenchie are getting good reviews. There are good French restaurants in the city but this not it. Plus the service is below average too - for instance if you have cheese and charcuterie board the server should know what is on it!
Went for brunch before my wedding and it was so good
Great experience tonight in Frenchie! Food was really good, flavourful, beautiful presentation. We took the fried Brussels sprout and figs with melted blue cheese. After that, we took two Boneless chicken, the best chicken I’ve ever had in my life! I’ll definitely go back! Thanks to all the team, who’s very attentive, and smily!
Delicious food, wonderful service
Sat in the very noisy backroom where one had to scream to be heard. I thought the food and service was very fair and not worth the price.
Food was great, atmosphere was great, all around a great spot and must go to place. We’ll be going back for sure
Great place and atmosphere. Need to improve the AC
FANTASTIC!! I thought I was back in France! The patio dining was reminiscent of Paris. The manager Diego was very attentive.
Great food and great staff!
Great place. I think I actually liked the desserts more than the food. I didn’t have any of the entrees but the small plates were great. I do think it was a little pricey for the serving sizes . I definitely want to go back to try the entrees because they looked amazing and are probably more cost effective.
Lots of better choices for French in South End. Service is confused. Wine too warm. Mussels were good but skimpy
Very good French food, very good wine selection, very good service - we really enjoyed ourselves!
No eggs, no muffins, no toast, Rather surprising for 11 AM. Only full-size lunches with NO SIDES possible. I have been there on the weekends for brunch and it was very good, but if they are not offering breakfast or à la cart items on weekdays they should make it clear on their website.
Bonjour! We are sorry that our restaurant does not serve breakfast . However, our three menus are available on our website with the time of serving. FYI: We serve: Brunch: Saturday & Sunday from 11AM- 4PM // Lunch : Monday- Friday from 11AM - 4PM. Dinner : Everyday from 4PM - 11PM . A bientôt!
Short menu, but Each meal is exceptionally well prepared. Service is friendly and wine selection is very compatible and broad.
Food was excellent. Service was indifferent at best. Server didn’t come to our table for 15 minutes, was playing solitaire on her phone. She was very nice but obviously didn’t put much effort in. Bartender who seated us was less than pleasant and later was heard complaining about our table asking to taste the wine by the glass. Really unprofessional, especially since the place was empty on a Sunday. Won’t be back unfortunately because the food was excellent. Feel bad for the kitchen.
Great food, authentic French food, amazing welcoming staff! I would highly recommend this restaurant
LOVE Frenchie. Every time we go the service is great and speedy. We got water right away, and the drinks and food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Our server was friendly and made sure we were doing well throughout the night. The food was great! I tried the duck liver toast and found it tastes a lot like aged cheese, but pairing with the cherries and rhubarb made it delicious! It was pretty noisy and I couldn't hear my friend that well, but it's like that every time I go there. It was also pretty toasty inside, however with it being 100 degrees this weekend I think that was to be expected. Not sure if the back yard is theirs to do anything with, but the spot next to the shed would make for a great standing bar area, or extra patio space for tables.
Small portions but good food - I think they’ve lowered their prices to reflect portion size
Table had thick layer of sticky grime. Ac was freezing
