We offer a range of small plates, hot and cold, which remix French classics - Escargot toasts, Steak Tartare, Tartines, Salmon Tartare, Foie Gras, Steak Frites, Salads, along with Cheese and Charcuterie boards and French desserts: Mousse au Chocolat, Crème Brûlée... Everything is made in house with love, we start from scratch everyday and use only local produces.
The star of our drink menu is definitely the wine, more than 30 references by the glass! But we also serve beers, ciders and cocktails crafted by our mixologists.
We are located in our beloved South End in Boston, MA.
Talk. Sip. Bite. Repeat.
Amazing service, subpar food, expensive
We went on New Years Eve, When we made the reservation there was no notification the menu was pre-fix and you could not order from the normal menu. When we sat down they gave us both the normal menu and special menu. after the waiter came back 25 minutes later to take our order we were then told we could not order from the normal menu and he left so we could look over the special menu, normal menu was only for drinks. It was very confusing. The waiter came back again after 20 more minutes. The appetizers were
not edible. Then they delivered a cold melon soup to us that was just awful, somewhat issulting for the price, we just pushed them away. The main course came it was ok, it was steak and over cooked but the taste was fine. Dessert was the best part of the meal. I don't think I will be returning any time soon. During our meal about 5 other couples left once they were told they could not order from normal menu. This was a major miss for Frenchie. after spending 250.00 for 2 adults on a subpar meal and service I would have rather gone to Grill 23 or the Bristol Lounge. Too BAD!
Our waitress seemed a little put out by having to actually wait on us although the bartender was quite pleasant and attentive. I had checked the menu previous to making a NYE reservation and was surprised and disappointed that the only menu available was a prix fixe 3 course meal. The food was very good and rich but a 3 course meal is too much to enjoy.
The food was not very good. sweet and heavy... better to get the tartien from the lunch menu\u
The chef must have been on vacation. Our food tasted old and poorly seasoned . Our friend could not eat her coq au vin. At least we were not charged for it. I ate mine but had to add a lot of salt. Still it tasted like leftovers The correct elements were not in the salad . Almost no dressing no chicory no blue cheese. We had previously liked the restaurant. Not this time. Very disappointed
Delicious food for lunch. Beautiful, modern restaurant with a cute green room space as well.
If I lived in Boston I could spend an entire afternoon here. Unfortunately we were visiting and had to explore. Diego was perfect so a huge thanks to him for working on Christmas Day and thanks for being open! The food was amazing. I felt like we were hanging out at a friends house the whole time. I’ll be back for sure.
Food and service were great. And they didn’t rush us. Rey comfortable!
Excellent food and fun atmosphere. Great Sunday brunch with friends.
Such great service! Literally everyone who worked there was nice and went out of their way to make it a great experience. The food and drinks were also fantastic!
Last minute reservation. Food was delicious and service was excellent. Amazing wine list.
Food was outstanding. Atmosphere was comfortable and casual. Service attentive and polite.
Everything was delicious. Only disappointment was we ordered the Branzino to be shared by two people and it was quite a small fish to be shared by two. It was delicious but should not have been for two people. We ordered a couple desserts so all was fine in the end.
Service was great! Very nice and attentive. Food was really great.
Could NOT have been better!!!! Have been here 4 times and no matter who I have brought, we are never disappointed. Service great, food fabulous, and great atmosphere !!!!!
The menu had so many good choices! Service was spot on and the server gave excellent descriptions of every dish we asked about. The bartender paired the perfect wine with the duck too! Comfortable restaurant and friendly atmosphere.
The drinks and food were absolutely to die for and were absolutely worth the money for the quantity and quality. The brussel sprouts and escargo toast are a must; and if you're a goat cheese lover I would definitely get it. The peartini and ginger smash are 10/10. Looking forward to visiting soon!
We were so excited to try frenchie! As someone who lived in Paris i was looking forward to the traditional french “East going” ambiance. however we were so sad that the atmosphere appeared more concerned about being “trendy” than traditional. The cuisine was fantastic but we wish we felt more at home : (
We went for Saturday brunch. Delicious drinks, our server was great. It was busy so it was a leisurely meal but very enjoyable.
Loved the vibe at Frenchie. Nice light, design, good and service
Had the mussels for an appetizer and we both had the steak frites.
Dodd was excellent and the service was perfect. Nice people.
We will be returning soon.
Loved our server! She had great recommendations. Food was amazing and the interior was very chic! Definitely would go back
Average experience. Apps were good but entrees were mixed. Steak Frites was cold and overcooked. Overall would not go back
The ambience is excellent. They did run out of french toast which was a bummer. One of the best cappuccino's I had in a long time.
Went for brunch and as always was delicious! Omelette was outstanding, pastries were so so but a good meal.
Yummy brunch and cocktails. The setting was really nice. However the space between tables are a bit tight even for a thin person for my taste. Other that that we enjoyed the overall brunch experience.
Lovely interior and great food for a good price, but went on a Saturday afternoon with a reservation, and there was nowhere to even stand to wait without being in the way. Very crowded and can be loud
Good food, good rich coffee, great friendly service. Very loud in the front room
It’s a cool place. Good music and vibe. Great wine. The food was fine. Nothing special. My wife had the steak frites and the steak was a bit tough. I had the duck which was good. The purée was on the sweeter side. We had a cheese board as an app which was great. We also had the pork belly. The pork was very good. The accompanying grains were bland.
Always love this place. Service was excellent, food and wine was great. In vino veritas!
A superb neighborhood restaurant with excellent food and service. Well worth a visit.
Great food great atmosphere friendly staff inrecommend this place for brunch! The omelette is awesome btw
All of the food was good, but didn't blow me away. We ordered/shared the Shishito Peppers, Oysters, Apple Salad, Mussels and Steak Frites. The service and ambiance was very good.
I’ve always wanted to like this place but it is consistently mediocre at best. The service and ambiance are fine. I’ve returned to this restaurant several times over two or three years and the food has been consistently bad. The escargot toast was drowned in at least a cup of butter making the toast soggy and far too greasy. The frites that came with the steak frites were limp and cold. Literally not one frite was crispy. The steak was fine but underdone and the bernaise sauce was almost non-existent. The food was so bad this time they’ve finally convinced me NOT to come back here.
It’s a cozy, trendy spot. The service is slow and forgetful, but if you’re not in a rush, like we weren’t, it was fine to just enjoy the ambiance. The food was decent, nothing special, considering there are other tapas places in the city that do the exact same dishes for a lesser cost. Definitely worth a visit, maybe just not multiple.
Excellent food and excellent service. Will certainly be back.
Celebrated a family birthday with a brunch with relatives. Beautiful setting and warm service. We all enjoyed our meals and will be coming back.
Tres bien! I will be back. Wine selection is amazing.
Exceptional experience all around. Wonderful meal and friendly staff. Beautiful decor.
