We offer a range of small plates, hot and cold, which remix French classics - Escargot toasts, Steak Tartare, Tartines, Tuna Tartare, Foie Gras, Steak Frites, Salads, along with Cheese and Charcuterie boards and French desserts: Crêpes, Mousse au Chocolat, Crème Brûlée... Everything is made in house with love, we start from scratch everyday and use only local produces.
The star of our drink menu is definitely the wine, more than 30 references by the glass! But we also serve beers, ciders and cocktails crafted by our mixologists.
We are located in our beloved South End in Boston, MA.
Talk. Sip. Bite. Repeat.
Merci for another beautiful soirée. Food as usual was fantastique the people also. The manager is so involved in her business it makes it great... lead by example. Now from where I am the music could be a new test Edith Piaf or some country like Brothers Osborn. A +
Rarely do I give negative reviews but the hostess here is extremely rude and unprofessional. We booked a table with them but were told in a condescending and disturbing manner that we could only sit down for 30 minutes at brunch(The place was only half full at the time). I would not recommend this place.
I have visited frenchie a number of times. Food is excellent, ambiance is amazing. This time I felt like the staff was in a panic. I felt like we were a nuisance to the waiter because I had to keep prompting him and glasses and dishes kept breaking. It wasn’t relaxing at all.
Sat at the bar and the bartender was horrible. Took over 20 minutes to even acknowledge we were there. Then - forgot to put in one persons order.
Another fantastique night at Frenchie had the steak tartare (always have it) foie gras cheese and charcuterie and chocolate mouse.... so délicieux. The staff is great and friendly and the manager is the best! She really looks after her restaurant and her customers. À plus tard!-)
Delightful evening celebrating our daughter’s birthday. Food, service, ambiance all perfect!
It was fine. Definitely instagramable, if that’s your thing. But was underwhelmed by food (exceptions were escargot toast and creme brûlée) service wasn’t great either. The host was super friendly and engaging, though!
This is now my favorite spot when I come to Boston. The food is excellent and has the real taste from France. The people are great too and many of them bring the French cachet (makes sense as many of them are actually French unlike many other restaurants who pose). Fun atmosphere, great food and great people.
Absolutely amazing experience at Frenchie with family earlier this week. We sat out on the patio since it was one of the first true spring days we had in Boston. Our waiter, Diego, was phenomenal. Extremely attentive and personable making it a very fun experience for everyone. The food was also incredible. We ended up sharing many small plates and snacks. Throughout, Diego and the kitchen were very accommodating to multiple food restrictions and made sure everyone had everything they needed. The only "negative" we experience, was that it got slightly chilly once the sun went down, but that was our own fault for being bold enough to sit outside at 7pm, haha. Will absolutely be back!!
We had a fun girls birthday dinner at Frenchie. The staff was awesome and the food even better!
Beautiful space. Food was fine but I've have had much better at other French restaurants in Boston. The salt cod croquettes were dense and bland, I didn't taste any salt cod. Steak tar tare was great. Overall high prices for food and wine did not live up to the hype.
The food is fabulous, service inconsistent but table and restrooms were dirty - greasy floors in back room and utensils and glasses stuck to the table.
We love this restaurant for the food and people. Real French people and the food feels like France - so good!
Great waitstaff and food is amazing
This neighborhood bistro has changed ownership many times, but I like the way things are working out now. the food is very well-prepared and delicious, judging by my meal of cold cucumber, avocado and crab soup, and a delicious duck with grapes. My only complaint was the noise level -- we sat out back in the glassed-in "conservatory," a space I love -- but it was impossible to have a quiet conversation there, and the din in the main room (we had a table around 6 PM on a tuesday night) seemed just as great. We will be back for the food, but this is a happening place, too noisy for relaxed conversation.
Mediocre at best. Third try. Probably won’t be back. Servers are great. Food not so much.
I had a very good Eggs Benedict at Frenchie’s but I wanted a Bloody Mary to go with it. Unfortunately, the Bloody Mary was definitely not recommended by my friends who had arrived earlier. Frenchies was out of olives but more importantly the formula for Bloody Mary’s needs reworking. It was watery, not spicy, and had no olives. I ordered wine instead.
Still, we had a good table in the front that cut down on the noise level and afforded us a good space for Easter Brunch.
Good and authentic french food. You actually feel you are like in a small brasserie in Paris.
The food and service were very good, but there was a large group dining at the same time we were and they were extremely loud causing others to try to talk louder to be heard. It made the experience less enjoyable and uncomfortable for us.
The creamy onion soup and foie gras were great. Steak frites arrived cold and uninspired. Chicken and Salmon accompaniments equally uninspired. Creme brûlée tasty as was orange olive oil cake. Music not suitable to French bistro-loud top 20 and distracting spoiled it from the get go. Service great.
Cocktail served without a single garnish. Just a murky drink in a glass.
Gem salad was so horribly dressed (perhaps no dressing at all or a chef error ?) that we sent it back because it was so poorly seasoned.
It was so cute! Sat outside and it was such a nice day. Food and drinks were delicious!
Really enjoyed our meal. However, incredibly bad service. Rude waitress who was unaccommodating with food allergies.
Frenchie can always be counted on for a realky great night out. After living in Paris for 2 years, I am a little picky about cheese ;-) But the staff at Frenchie knows their cheese and their wine and the pairings are always perfect. Beautiful food, beautiful place, lovely people.
Best. But quite loud in garden room.
Frenchie has a very cube ambience, and for simple food, its nice. But it's not a spot I would recommend if you are looking for French food.
Overall, it was not a great dining experience. The space is OK, but does not in any way feel like a cozy French bistro (and the dance music playing didn't help). The place doesn't have a full liquor license, so getting the cocktail we wanted wasn't possible and the one we settled for was weak and weird. The food was a bit hit or miss: great mussels, OK Brussels sprouts, sad steak frites and awful arigot. Our bus person was attentive, efficient and personable; wish I could say the same for our waitress. Bottom line: you can find a better dinner for the same price (or less) in the neighborhood.
The food was spectacular. I enjoyed the escargot toast the most. The rose wine was also excellent. The only bad thing is the seating is a little too close.
Excellent food! Lovely menu. Dining experience, setting and service all a little sub par for this quality of food.
The place is just super!!!
Staff was pushy and was rushing us out when we weren’t ready.
I got brunch at Frenchie, and it was a great experience. The meals were very reasonably priced, and the ambience was very cute and quaint. They have an Alice in Wonderland theme on their menus which gives an elegant vibe.
Coc au vin was delicious. The boneless chicken entree and the wine list were good. Cozy settimg but kind of loud; definitely not a place to go for conversation.
Friend and I chose to stay sitting at the bar and gave up our table. The hostess was actually really thankful and appreciated it since other customers were looking to get a table. Sitting at the bar was comfortable, however, the Irish bartender was not accommodating, attentive or friendly. I felt like I was asking a favor for a drink or to order our meal. That being said, the selection of drinks was great. We had oysters, brussel sprouts and the Branzino for two. Everything tasted amazing. I would go back again but sit at our table next time.
The food and service were good, however the table was sticky and dirty. The bathroom was clogged and not maintained
Great atmosphere and a beautiful little seating area in the back. Unique and delicious food options.
Good food, good prices, but staff friendliness was lacking.
Amazing food and people
Greeted warmly, seated quickly, apps were delicious, wine list was very good, dinner (fish) was also exceptional. Nice experience
