We offer a range of small plates, hot and cold, which remix French classics - Escargot toasts, Steak Tartare, Tartines, Tuna Tartare, Foie Gras, Steak Frites, Salads, along with Cheese and Charcuterie boards and French desserts: Crêpes, Mousse au Chocolat, Crème Brûlée... Everything is made in house with love, we start from scratch everyday and use only local produces.
The star of our drink menu is definitely the wine, more than 30 references by the glass! But we also serve beers, ciders and cocktails crafted by our mixologists.
We are located in our beloved South End in Boston, MA.
Talk. Sip. Bite. Repeat.
The waitress took about 15 minutes to even come to our table. We ordered the charcuterie board and she told us we needed to order entrees right away. She didn’t ask us if we had been there before or explain the menu set up. So we assumed to look at the entree section of the menu and quickly pick. It wasn’t until the table next to us asked if the menu was mostly tapas that we realized. I wish the waitress had let us know before making us order entrees because we would have preferred to do the tapas based on the limited entree options.
Our server was amazing and so many options for wine
We had a lovely meal at Frenchie on Valentine's day. Food & service were excellent. If I had one complaint, it would be that the main room where the bar is located is much better lit and has nicer ambiance which is where I had hoped to be seated. The atrium room was a bit dark and we were super close and squeezed with the table next to us. The vino was superb, but looking forward to trying some of the cocktails as they looked amazing as well! Will be back!
AMAZING!!! The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Can’t wait to go back and try brunch!
Great ambiance and great food. Not too many options which is great as I wouldn't want an overwhelming menu. Will visit again
Mediocre food at best. Pretty bad service as well.
The meal sort of unfolded as an ongoing adventure. We started with a charcuterie platter and didn't order the rest of the meal until after. Three of us had small plates: the fourth had an entree. The dishes were a little different from what we expected, but all good.
Excellent upscale French bistro on Tremont.
Been to Frenchie many times and usually pretty good. Today was awful and hopefully it’s an exception vs. norm. We all had eggs and they were bad and sad looking, definitely not Frenchie standard.
French omelet is one of the best but what we had today can’t even be described as one. Maybe chef is on vacation? Needless to say, very disappointing today.
Service is excellent, food delicious. My only critique: my husband and his friend weren’t fans of the Bloody Mary.
Perfect, in every sense of the word.
It’s nice, has an extensive wine list but is overrated. Service is okay. Restaurant is extremely loud. The cheese board I ordered was pretty good but the tartines were ROCK hard. The bread basket was much better and that was complimentary. Overall, okay place but I wouldn’t go back there again.
We had a great meal. The only issue was the service was slow and disorganized. Different people kept coming up to take care of us, and no one knew what was going on with our table (if we had our order taken or not - our original server even came up to take our dessert order, whereas we hadn't gotten our meal yet!). So it was disorganized, and that's a little disappointing because you're left feeling like you have to manage the whole evening and wait to get people's attention for another drink or some bread, etc., instead of them approaching it in an organized way so the guest can relax. But the food was fantastic, and everyone was friendly. We would go back for sure!
Waitress rushed us every step of the way and even closed our tab out before we finished the meal...was not very welcoming for a return
Food and service were great. Although, we waited about 1 hr to get our food. It really took forever. Worth the wait, but in the future will definitely avoid brunch-peak hours.
The food was outstanding and the service was wonderful.
What a downhill experience this restaurant was. We sat at the bar pre-theatre, ordered a bottle of Meursault and were faced with a blank stare from the bartender, even though Meursault was on the wine list. (Someone eventually found a bottle.) Food came out randomly. A 4-piece cheese board, selected from the chalkboard list, was met with “OK Brie, what else?” even though Brie was not one of my selections. Salt-crusted fish for 2 was hideous, a tiny branzino buried in a tray of loose kosher salt (not in a clay-like crust of salt, that should have broken away). My English Breakfast tea was sickenly fruity. When I asked that it be replaced I was told they don’t really have English Breakfast (or Irish or Earl Grey, all on their list of teas), and why didn’t I just drink coffee. At least it was plenty loud! We won’t try again.
Very friendly staff.
Will definitely be back !!
Waitress spilled a bloody marry on my girlfriend didn’t apologize asked the table next to us if anything spilled on them and then didn’t clean it up or leave napkins
Not really a quiet place but I loved the ambiance, the servers were attentive, and the food was even better.
Everything was fantastic.
The food and wine selections along with the service was top notch. We will be back again to dine soon!
We went on a Saturday morning (with a reservation) but the restaurant itself was pretty quiet. Our food was delicious and we also go the basket of pastries to start which were delicious! Tasted very authentic.
Really cute French wine bar with a cozy feel and great food.
Amazing food, amazing aesthetic, only slight improvement I could suggest was the music was a little out of place for the vibe the decor seemed to be going for
Very loud, poor service, and mediocre food
The entre took a while to come out and the waiter was apparently waiting for us to be done with our appetizers, which was just a little bit left, and I wish the waiter had asked us if we wanted the entre. We asked for medium duck but if came out to be medium rare. Overall, the food was good - we got the escargot toast, salami plate, and cheese raclette. Nice environment. The waiter was nice and friendly.
Loud, cold food, inattentive service; certainly not worth the price!
First time here for dinner as previous dining was for brunch. The food was rather fantastic and we had a lovely evening. There were 4 of us and we were lucky enough to have the front window table which was fun for street viewing. The only slight negative was that our initial service was slow as we waited almost 20 mins for a drink BUT after that it was smooth sailing. Our waiter was very informative, friendly and made great recommendations. Will definitely be returning. Such a fun, casual bistro vibe!
Food was good, service was atrocious.
Great brunch + selection!
Amazing restaurant, small but very comfortable. Highly recommended.
We asked for a seat by the window and we were able to. Iris so pretty out there. The food was phenomenal. We had the onion soup, beet and burrata salad and croquet monsieur. The Bloody Mary was perfection. Coffee and tea were great and service was wonderful.
VERY bad service. Took 20+ minutes to order wine. Another 20 to order food. Once food arrived and we asked for desert menus the server decided to flirt with a couple girls at the bar and ignored us. I had to ask for the check from the very nice guy who cleared our plates.
Food was average, to say the least. My duck was covered in a citrus zest that made the dish smell off. Also, 2 of the slices were VERY fatty. Not what I expected from an otherwise well reviewed spot. My wife’s chicken was good, so they get a star back for that.
I hope the brunch is good, but we will not be back to try it.
Amaxing as always! Their charcuterie board and steak tartare are everything.
Management of this place needs to revamp the menu, or sell the menu as something other than French. I ordered beef bourguignon, a classic french stew. I was served a hunk of meat that resembled something I might have cooked in a crock pot. It had no flavor and no sauce. Having been to France several times, I can tell you, the dish I ordered was no where in the same realm as beef bourguignon, which I have also made. Maybe the chef needs some remedial help with what French cooking really is. My husband ordered creamy onion soup, which was bland. After paying our inflated bill - we should have protested - we left and went to another restaurant for dinner. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!!
We love brunch at Frenchie's & celebrating the holiday with friends.
Maxime was a very attentive waiter...great server.
It was just ok. Service was very inexperienced. Coffee was cold at 10 AM on a Sunday brunch and the food was... ok. Sorry to say!
The service was truly awful but the drinks were really good
Frenchies used to be a more reasonably priced fun place to eat before theatre. The appetizers used to be bigger and more inventive- you could share a bunch and be happy. It appears they have changed their format somewhat and that the appetizers are smaller and less fun.... the whole branzinos were very small- tough to share. They may be a better bet for pretheatre lunch/brunch -which we have enjoyed in the past.
This place has real French Bistro style food and delicious wine from the owner's own terroir.
It is a gem, so much better than many a restaurant given top ratings in various publications. Always delicious food and great service.
Not too fancy and not too casual...just right.
