Warmly elegant, Frenchette features a veteran kitchen serving a dining room that melds Old World glamour with New York energy. From breakfast through late-night, chefs Lee Hanson and Riad Nasr make the most of their kitchen’s rotisserie and Robata grill with daily specials crowning a menu that features Duck Frites, Turbot for Two and Spit-Roasted Lobster, all approached with a lighter, more contemporary touch. Aperitif-based cocktails are served at the striking pewter bar and an impressive selection of natural wines is on offer.

Why they're an Icon

From the OpenTable editors: The snazziest French bistro in NYC popped open in 2018, winning a James Beard Award for Best New Restaurant, along with rave reviews and national buzz for chefs Lee Hanson and Riad Nasr. Frenchette’s dramatic black exterior reveals a warm wooden bar and cozy leather banquettes with remarkably friendly staff poised to welcome you at the door. Join the fans feasting on oysters and sausages, pommes frites, pillowy gnocchi Parisienne, and showstopping pistachio Paris-Brest, alongside the acclaimed natural wine list.

Comfortable non-pretentious, comfortable environment. Low noise and excellent service. A unique wine selection, and all the wine advice you need from Reed, the manager-sommelier. We had a wonderful lunch and hope to come back soon.

They need to be more transparent with their pricing (ask them because you’ll be charged waaay more depending on portions). And the menu is a little underwhelming

My first time at Frenchette. I brought my 91 year old Auntie. We really liked the food. Everything was very fresh! The Levain Pancake was really good. Auntie had the swordfish. It was delicious but the portion was a little on the small side. I had the Eggs with the trout and hollandaise sauce. It was really good. The skin on the trout was super crispy. We shared an order of fries. They were perfectly done. My only complaint was the service. I ordered a bottle of sparkling water, but she never came back to ask us if we wanted anything else. I usually order a mocktail for Auntie. I usually will have a cocktail at brunch. We ordered the basket of pastries, but they forgot to bring some butter. The server abruptly brought me the check without asking if we wanted dessert, coffee or anything else. On our Sunday brunches, we usually order dessert, tea and coffee.

We had a great brunch. Food, ambiance and service were great. The price point felt a little high for brunch but the quality was there. We would go back. Thanks!

the menu is ridiculously limited. bread for the table cost $12. a small piece of quiche with a side of greens was $30. coffee was worse than wash water. and $60 per person for a mediocre meal is insulting. do better.
