Located adjacent the main entrance to the Whitney Museum of American Art, Frenchette Bakery café offers a welcoming, approachable neighborhood destination and gathering space for visitors and the local community alike. The Bakery features artisanal pastries and bread baked on site and the café showcases a seasonal and approachable menu for all to enjoy.

The ground-floor café, under the direction of chef owners Lee Hanson and Riad Nasr - with culinary director and head baker, Johann Cottier, executive pastry chef, Michelle Palazzo, and executive sous chef, Zoe DeAngelis-Jimenez - combines the best of Tribeca’s Frenchette Bakery with a menu reflecting the spirit of a French café, and their nearby restaurant, Frenchette.

    Breakfast was inventive and delicious. Scrambled eggs were so tasty and the bread special, warm and fresh. The small salad was unexpectedly plentiful. Cold brew coffee topped it off. Service was attentive and the space is inspiring with high ceilings, open, light and airy.

    The food was extremely good and the baked goods stellar as well. The service very attentive as well regularly asking how we were doing.

    Very unimpressive expensive food. Would not bother eating there again. Many better places to eat near the Whitney.

    Loved our lunch at Frenchette Bakery at the Whitney! The servicce was excellent and the vibe was great. Loved the design of the cafe. Food was good and I recommend the iced mocha!

    Good food and friendly service. But server outside had to wipe down tables take orders and check in on us. Maybe more servers to take orders when people sit down? Especially at brunch when waiting on coffee tea etc

    The food at Frenchette was excellent but our reservation was at 6:15 pm, and by that time they were out of all of the desserts except for one, as well as the pizza we originally wanted. Expect choices to be limited if you go in the evenings.

    They could not seat us until 1.15pm for our 1pm reservation and then when we tried to order a bacon egg and cheese they had “just run out”. Running out of an item on a Sunday at mid day was disappointing.
