Excellent, thoughtfully prepared French cuisine. Amiable host provides helpful advice on wine suggestions to compliment the food.
As usual, the French Market Grill was outstanding in all respects. It truly is a neighborhood gem. It is also a high value restaurant. If you have not tried it, give it a go.
Came for New Year’s Eve dinner but there was nothing special about the menu. Same items as were on regular menu online. Had reservations but were seated 30 minutes later despite empty tables available. Ordered a glass of wine which was delivered in an obviously dirty glass (food on inside of glass). Wine replaced with no apologies. Salad and appetizer were good, but fish and duck were dry and tasteless like they had been pre made. Dessert was good but nothing exceptional. Will not return.
We've been going to the French Market Grille ever since it opened some 20 years ago. We were looking forward to a nice New Years Eve dinner but it was really disappointing. My wife ordered the duck confit and it was mostly fat - not much meat. I ordered the rack of lamb - medium rare. What I received was some brown meat smothered in a brown sauce. There was no taste of lamb. I didn't even get a sharp knife for cutting the meat. The waiter delivered the food and never stopped back to ask how it was. The most pleasant part of the experience was sitting outside on the covered patio listening to nice music. We'll have to think hard about whether or not we'll go back.
THIS IS A VERY NICE AND RELAXING PLACE. THE FOOD WAS VERY GOOD. WE BOTH HAD THE TENDERLOIN STEAK. MY HUSBAND WANTED HIS WELL DONE. IN DOING THIS THEY CUT THE MEAT IN HALF I THINK AND IT ENDED UP BEING TOO WELL DONE. HE DIDN'T COMPLAIN. I SAID I WANTED MINE MEDIUM. IT WAS OK BUT THE CENTER WAS STILL RED.Ii DECIDED NOT TOO SEND IT BACK BECAUSE I ATE THE OUTSIDE OF THE STEAK AND BROUGHT THE REST HOME TO EAT LATER. EVERYTHING ELSE WAS GOOD AND WE LIKE THE RESTAURANT AND WILL RETURN BUT NEXT TIME WILL SPEAK UP IF THERE ARE PROBLEMS.
We had an amazing experience. Everyone treated gave us first class service and the was absolutely exquisite
This was Christmas dinner for 3. My wife ordered hot tea at the beginning our waiter brought it at the end of dinner and did not appoliges for forgetting it, it was cold. My wife ordered escargot recived 3 all the other restaurants we have eaten at it was 6,same price. I had turkey and fixens, change of pase, their was no tast all very poor, like fast food. Over all not good, starting with the waiter. Will not return.
We had an excellent Christmas Eve dinner with our grown children. The food was great, the prices were reasonable and the service was excellent. Highly recommend.
Went here for Christmas Eve dinner. We ate from out of town and were mostly ignored after being seated. My wife ordered a glass of champagne and was waiting to order a glass of wine with her entree, but the waiter never checked back to see how our food was or whether we wanted anything else. Service was slow and indifferent. Entrees came with mashed potatoes which were watery - the worst I’ve ever experienced in an upscale restaurant. Lamb was undistinguished and basically tasteless. We didn’t stay for dessert because we were never asked if we wanted any. We had to request the check three times and then I had to deliver it to the front desk myself because no one ever pocked it up. Overall a bad experience I wouldn’t recommend.
I made reservations for my son and me to have Christmas Eve dinner at French Market Cafe. We were seated by a very gracious Patrick, were fortunate to have Catherine as our server and enjoyed a perfectly delicious rack of lamb dinner paired with a beautiful Malbec wine which had been suggested by Catherine. The service was just right allowing us to chat and relax.
