Excellent food and atmosphere!
I have eaten here twice now and both times were amazing! The food was delicious and at a decent price. The aesthetic of the restaurant was calm and a gave a lovely taste of the French culture.
First experience at a John Robert. Did not disappoint!
First time I ate there it was very good and I had a great service. This time my quiche was burned and had a very odd taste. Chicken soup lacked any noticeable signs of chicken. I had intestinal issues shortly after I left so seriously wondering if something was spoiled or not prepared in a clean environment.
A gem of a Bistro. It does what a bistro is supposed to do: Provide delicious, straightforward French dishes at a moderate (or slightly above moderate) price point, in an informal setting. French restaurants too often focus on the very high-end “special occasion” market. Jean-Robert has always excelled at keeping the bistro experience viable in Cincinnati, and for this we are fortunate.
We love the French Crust. The waiters are always so friendly. The menu is limited but some of our favorites are there. We love the ambience.
Food was excellent! Portions were very generous!
Good food in a very, very French atmosphere! Great quiche!
The entree that we ordered were delicious. It was a very busy Saturday night, with everyone arriving at about the same time. They only had one waiter and he was very busy, not his fault and some customers were very demanding. He did a great job under the circumstances. I would recommend this establishment.
As always the food was excellent. Our only issue was slow service. It's frustrating when you see people seated after you get their food while you're sitting there as hungry as can be. BTW, we ordered no drinks or appetizers.
Outstanding food and service.
The eggs Benedict and hazelnut latte were delicious
My husband always wants this for his birthday dinner. He said his bouillabaisse was excellent. My red snapper was delicious. Also a great place for lunch and brunch!
It was our first time there and we loved it. I had the rosemary rubbed pork and my wife had the shrimp and grits. They were both cooked perfectly. We had a very delicious key lime tart for dessert. The service was amazing. They were very attentive and efficient. While the dining is indoors, it almost felt like we were outdoors with their high ceilings and windows that allowed plenty of natural light from outside. We will definitely go back again.
Always perfect in all categories
Our food was excellent!
We dined here for our anniversary and the experience was great. I had the red snapper which was beautifully presented and delicious. Loved all the vintage french posters decorating the dining room.
I absolutely love this restaurant. I took my son for lunch to celebrate the start of summer. I tried the croissant with duo of salmon, and he got the steak casserole. The food was absolutely outstanding and did not break the bank. So glad to have this gem in Cincinnati!
I haven’t been to French Crust since before the pandemic. I felt a bit rushed and the food was not as good as the last time I was there (and I had the same food).
40 minutes between appetizer/wine and main course. No contact from waitress during the delay. Risotto and green beans at room temperature. Bouillabaisse served with fork and knife. Waitress did not offer dessert. We were told that they were short staffed. Communication would have solved most of our problems.
Great experience, it’s nice to be able to dine out
I ordered wrong. My date had the salmon and it was outstanding.
Delicious food and great service!
Outstanding meal, incredibly fresh. Good to see the are busy again!
As always, great food! Service was friendly and gracious.
Food was great. The restaurant is across the street from Findley Market and a band was playing. Fun night!
Good top be back in the charming dining room! It was surprisingly busy for a midweek lunch, too, which is a good sign.
My son was treating me to a belated Mother's Day lunch since we both agreed it was too crazy to eat out on Mother's day itself. I had the salmon duo sandwich on a croissant with a side salad and he had the Quiche Lorraine. Excellent!
The only downside was that the service was slow; our reservation was for 1:00 pm, we didn't order until 1:20 pm and food didn't arrive until 1:40 pm.
Mother’s Day friends dinner.
A fun place to eat. We had been there before for brunch but this was our first time for dinner. A limited menu but still plenty to choose from and it was excellent.
Mother’s Day gift
The food and service was excellent. Jean Robert always creates delicious food combinations!
The ambiance is great. The wines are great. Our server was very pleasant.
The service was slow and the quiche was just average.
Excellent food, very poor service. Highly recommended for take-out orders or for those with the time an patience to deal with incompetent service. Server was “nice,” but made multiple, amateur service blunders that ruined the dine-in experience. Kitchen, by contrast, is world-class.
A smallish menu but there is no bad choice. All the fish dishes are well prepared with a lovely blend of spices, veggies and other flavors.
Such a gem of a spot for delicious brunch! Quiche was incredible and fun atmosphere, cocktails and yummy pastries. Will definitely be back!
We’ve been here for breakfast/brunch, lunch and dinner, and have yet to have a bad meal! The portions are perfectly sized, the menu covers many different palates and the staff is very friendly and professional. Only complaint is that the onion soup is not permanently on the menu. Can’t wait to return soon!
Great little bistro with good food.
