The food was great. Duck and roast chicken followed great kale and beet salads. The place is not huge but was what I was looking for to have a nice quiet catch up dinner with someone I had not seen in a while. Server Laszlo was fine and attentive during the dinner but a real pain at the end. He dropped the check as soon as we said we were not interested in dessert, and then hovered over the table at what seemed like 2 minute intervals until I got so frustrated that I just put my credit card on the table for him. DUDE... relax. We might not have wanted dessert but perhaps we may have enjoyed a glass of wine or an after dinner drink or a cup of coffee.... The waiter didn’t ruin the evening but he was a real downer at the end of the evening. The food/dinner itself was great, however, and that was not tainted by the server’s impatience. I would return.
This was our first time at this restaurant and the food was exceptional as well as the service. I can’t wait to return. My mouth waters just thinking about our delicious dinner.
It was wonderful, my husband and I went on our last day of our honeymoon. We got all dressed up per the dress code and enjoyed a night out. He got the filet mignon and I got the lobster tail sandwich. It was filling and wonderful. The staff helped us pick out wines we both liked (had to get 2 separate bottles) but it was all around wonderful. Whenever second back to Denver CO we will be coming back to eat!!
Only bad thing is not all people followed dress code and it is not enforced.
Quite possibly my fav restaurant ever!!!!
Love the staff, the decor, the vibe, the music .. just everything!!!
We celebrated our anniversary there & they made it a GREAT night...
Must haves are Steak Tartare, Salmon, & the chocolate torte....
Don’t miss this place! Wish I had one where I live💔💔
One of the BEST meals ever!!!! The staff was sooo awesome!!!!
It was our 42nd anniversary & they made the evening so fun & treated us to a dessert to share!
I’m sad we live so far away & don’t know when Denver will ever be on our travel schedule again.
Wish they would open one in the Coachella Valley CA...
You MUST go eat here!!!!
Very good food and service. Would definitely return even though it was a bit loud for such a nice restaurant.
It was our 4-year anniversary. The staff was on point with congratulating us, multiple times, even with their own French 75 shot, on the house! The night was special, and they made sure they played a part. Thank you, French 75!
We celebrated our wedding anniversary on Tuesday evening and were given some delicious champagne to start off the evening. We took advantage of the Tuesday evening prix fixe menu and found both the food and wine exceptional, as well as a fantastic value. The service was good but the restaurant was also not too busy when we were there. We will definitely be back!
75th Birthday for French hub, where else would one go...French 75! We originally planned on dinner menu, then had so much fun trying several Happy Hour treats we no longer had room for more. Moules were fresh, perfectly cooked and wine sauce was delicious with bread to soak it up. Lamb Tarte Flambe was a winner along with Fritto mix crisply fried calamari, Brussel sprouts & shrimp. A couple of Niçoise salads, plenty large for 3 of us.
The staff were engaging & our server exchanged pleasantries in French with my hub. Drinks were unique and refreshing. Dessert served with candle to celebrate.
My spouse & daughter were delighted with the evening at French 75.
Delicious well-prepared food, and the best service I've had in years. Place is a bit loud
A major disappointment. Slow and disorganized service.
Wow this was horrible. The Frito Miste was over cooked (say Burnt) and no one offered to redo it when we told them. My duck was served on a cold plate and within minutes my entire dish was cold as well. My wife's sole was dry but with lots of lemon she was able to eat it. Don't know who the bozo was in the kitchen but he needs to be fired. This experience has soured us on going back to Frank's the restaurants which we enjoyed in the past--I think things are headed down--sorry to say.
Love the new menu, so glad the sole is back.... GREAT Menu
wow, terribly disappointing! the restaurant wasn't full, but they couldn't do anything right. Service was lackluster (had to repeatedly ask to get drinks, water, etc.). Took 90 minutes to get main course. When food arrived, it was not worth eating. Steaks were salted so much they were inedible. When they were made again, they were not seasoned at all. Lamb dish was cold and looked like my 4 year old plated it. Perhaps Bonnano should stick to Italian and the Milk Market!
The Sole Meunière is fantastic. The burger is the best in Denver. The fillet is perfect. A cocktail at the bar to start, then move to a cozy booth. Friendly service. Knowledge wait staff and bartenders. A great downtown eatery.
Fantastic food, really great service! Very welcoming for out of town visitors!
Our server, Caitlin really made our experience. She was phenomenal! We do wish the escargot was a bit more traditional in regards to being cooked in a butter garlic mixture topped with shredded Parmesan. However, there was ample slices of baguette, which was a nice change since at most places you are never served enough. The potatoes lyonnaise was a tad under seasoned, but still delicious. Other than that, everything else was great! The manager even took the time to show us the wine loft since we inquired about a private event. Caitlin again went above and beyond and gave us all the contact information we needed and arranged for the manager to show us the space. We look forward to many more fantastic meals at French 75.
Overall just not what we expected. Thought it might be a vibrant French vibe. Instead it was pretty vacant and we felt they should have not been open that evening. Won’t be going back. The food was ordinary. Overpriced. Uncreative. Our waitress was delightful. We hope she finds a happy place to work.
Dinner selections were good but service was very slow. Pate was good, chopped salad and short rib were excellent. Had dined previously and tried the prime burger also very well done. Stopped by late night and tried the croquettes served at the bar completely burnt- honestly were surprised anyone saw them worthy of putting in front of any guest and despite clear conversation about their sorry state bartender never acknowledged the mishap & we were too polite to push it any further.
A friend suggested French 75 for my birthday dinner and it was extraordinary. Three of us shared the lobster bisque, Maryland crab cake, escargot, torchon foie gras (unbelievable), and leg of lamb. Everything was cooked to perfection and had some kind of special flare that made it taste like nothing I've ever had before. I will definitely be going back and spreading the word about this place!
The food was fine but not outstanding. The Caesar salad was very over-dressed. Mashed potatoes were over-used on the entrees. We were seated in a booth right next to where drinks were made and could be quite loud—even though the restaurant was not busy.
We went here for our anniversary and had a great evening. The staff were very accommodating and my wife and I enjoyed the service and food very much. We will be returning for our next special occasion!
Loved this place. Food was delicious, but best of all French75 is one of the few quiet restaurants where it is possible to carry on a conversation. There is no background music and plenty of soft surfaces that absorb sound.
I love this place. Nice vibe from the moment you walk through the door. Excellent salads (though the Lyonaise is currently my favorite). Tea infused pork chop is wonderful. Highly recommended- give it a try.
This was my first visit, but definitely not my last. The food was great, portions very big for lunch. Restaurant located just 1 block off 16th street mall, but really a world away. It was quiet and unrushed.
Lamb was tough. Very empty and was surprised how rarely we saw our server.
5 star quality food and service in a casual atmosphere!! Thanks for making our 44th wedding anniversary special!
I was in Denver for a week, out of which 2 nights I ate at your place, (party of 3) it was the best we had by far
LOVED French 75!! So glad we tried the french onion soup, so rich and delicious. Colorado leg of lamb and mussels were also delicious! AND... the best was the house red wine. Seriously, the best house wine I've ever tasted and at $5 per glass it was the best-priced item on the menu!
Nice Birthday dinner with a group of 6. Never felt rushed and food and service were great.
French 75 is now one of my favorite restaurants in downtown Denver! The food is exceptional and not expensive on the whole - salads are absolutely the best. Fish is always fresh, wait staff attentive and the hostess rocks it!
We went in for an early dinner before a jazz show, and it was Happy Hour. Happy indeed! We both ordered a Happy Hour ("half") Nicoise salad to start. The half salads were so generous, we could not finish them! And they were fantastic! Fabulous fresh Ahi and veggies. Then we shared yummy lobster mac and cheese, and I had a crab cake and my husband had mussels. The food was sublime, and the bill was miniscule! And Laslo and Jordan provided excellent service. We intend to go and be happy again!
Would have MUCH rather had some jazz as background music instead of KOZI music playing. Very off putting given the ambience, service and food. Just suggesting
Disappointing anniversary dinner. Service was very slow. When the food arrived it a great disappointment. I ordered the lamb, medium rare. It was tough, fatty, sliced thick, overcooked, and not a good flavor. My wife ordered the sea bass, very fishy and way overcooked. I was also surprised they charge $5 for bread and butter. And the bread was dry, almost stale and of poor quality. We did not order dessert, was not interested in another failure. This is not good French cooking! Waste of time and money.
French 75 is an okay restaurant now. We have been here several times in the last few years and it is good but never seems to change. I wish it would get a little creative because as it stands, we will probably not be back.
Nice restaurant and our portions were huge... a surprise for a French Restaurant.
We took an out of town guest and on a cold blustery Denver Spring day we all decided on a warm bowl of soup. My wife had French Onion and our guest and I had lobster bisque. Both dishes were excellent.
My only criticisms, and these don't diminish my rating are: I'd like a real "soup spoon" not a regular spoon and I would expect a French restaurant to serve bread without asking... especially with the bisques.
Sat at a high top and had happy hour food and drinks. The lobster bisque was outstanding; everything else was average at best. We asked for bread for the mussel sauce and in a French restaurant with bread everywhere that took about 20 minutes.
I was somewhat disappointed in some of the meal lamb was fatty short ribs were delicious desserts were good but the staff and management were very kind, accommodating and understanding
We arrived at an off peak time. The service was spotty in the beginning.
When a second server arrived on the scene, things improved greatly.
The food is excellent.
