   We would recommend the accommodation, but not the dining. Food was good, but the service was very poor.

   Food was excellent. But parking lot was an ice rink. Inexcusable for a resort like that. I know it melts during the day and refreezes , but get some drainage, or have valet parking, or both!

   Dear Freestone Inn, try to keep the place as it is working at this moment. It is the only way to visit it every year!!! It is a wonderful and magical place!!!!

   We enjoyed the beautiful view, while eating outside on the patio. We ordered several starters for dinner and they were all delicious. Service was great. Will return again soon.

   A very nice evening made special by the blood moon eclipse visible from our table and by complimentary champagne at the time of totality. (And we were not guests at the Inn, just came for dinner).

   Food was very good but there seemed to be a shortage of wait staff. We had 7:30 pm reservations and were the last customers to come in for the evening. We were okay with chilling since we had just come from a hike. However, it took an hour to get our wine and 1.5 hours to get our appetizer. The meal finally arrived at 9:30 pm (we were almost the last people in the dining room). Not sure why it took so long to get food (unless they were short staffed in the kitchen also) but the wait staff did not check on us or explain why it was taking so long to get drinks or food. This was on a Saturday night and the Freestone Inn was full. The bartender finally came over to help out with our food service.

   After a day of hiking in the Cascades, dinner at the freestone can't be beat! October is cusp season in the Northwest. We were staying in Winthrop, where all the restaurants were very busy on a Saturday and we could not make a reservation. But freestone was available for a 6:00 dinner with window view seating. Although the menu was somewhat limited, the food was well prepared and the portions huge. overall, a great value and experience.

    I would definitely give the restaurant at the Freestone Inn restaurant 5 stars for the location and ambiance. The weather was pleasant so we dined on their outdoor terrace which overlooks a lovely lake and is surrounded by beautiful planting beds. The scenery was stunning as the sun set on the adjacent mountains! However, the service was slow and inattentive, and the food was mediocre and disappointing considering the price. The menu was small, not very creative (once again, considering the price) and lacked a vegetarian option. The waitress delivered the food and then disappeared until we had to flag her down to ask for the check. Disappointing.
