The Freedom Restaurant and Sushi has long been regarded in the region for the quality of its culinary experience.     Since it was 2 days before the restaurant closes for the season, it was expected that some food wouldn’t be available, but they had no sushi available at all and most of the drinks weren’t in stock. Alcohol doesn’t go back in a month or two that they are closed, so it was no reason to run out off all sake and must of the wines. We asked if they have ingredients for their signature cocktail and if they would be able to smoke it. The waitress said: yes. 5 people ordered it, what we got wasn’t even remotely a correct cocktail. We still enjoyed it a lot, despite all the items that were missing. That’s why I still rate it 4 stars experience. And we will definitely be back once they open after the well deserved break.

    This was my 4th visit and the food has been consistently good! Well seasoned and cooked to perfection each time. I've only tried dessert once and was not impressed, hopefully, I have success on another attempt. I also hope that the cooling system for the dining area nearest the pool is upgraded as it's usually a bit warm...maybe because of frequent opening of the door to the outside. Overall, the food and ambience is top tier and I'm glad to have found my go to spot for lunch and dinner on the island! Hoping to try breakfast soon :)

    As always Cora was great and made us the best sushi ever! She has ruined us and now we can’t eat sushi anywhere else in our city in Florida (or anywhere for that matter) because they can”t even come close to how she prepares food and how wonderful she is to spend time with while she works! Thanks Cora! Everyone is always amazing by the way, but when we sit with Cora, we deal mainly with Cora as we’re ordering our things straight from her.

    Overall good. Drinks were much better the previous visit. Poke bowl and sushi were great and the focaccia was outstanding.

    Everything was great except my meal. Pork was overcooked, carrots were so hard I couldn’t cut them without them flying off my plate and they gave me a sauce from another meal on the menu. Received a rosemary sauce instead of the jerk sauce. I told the server and he brought me the correct sauce, but for a $40 plate it was disappointing.

    It truly was one of the best dinners I have had in a long time and the team was wonderful. They gave us great recommendations and knew the menu well. It is expensive but I would go back next time I am in the Bahamas. Dan

    Lovely venue. Be sure to come early and visit the cliff bar and watch the sun go down over drinks before dinner.
