Frequent customer. Food was tasty. Am hooked on the calamari tacos and shrimp enchiladas. Service is always excellent! Thank you Autumn! Ambience is ok. Always uncomfortably loud. Loud music makes people speak too loudly to be heard. Not enjoyable. Most outside tables have some view of the ocean, which is nice. Overall, Fred’s is a good place to eat and enjoy a giant margarita!

Love, love, love this restaurant! We usually end our vacation trips in Huntington Beach (from Cleveland OH) and we always make a point of dining at Fred’s. The food is delicious, the service excellent and the location can’t be beat, facing the beach at sunset. We will be back on our next California trip for sure!

The waitress was extremely helpful — she actually offered and then did check with the kitchen regarding allergens. The food was fair. It wasn’t inedible, but we had higher expectations for a place that was so well reviewed. It was lacking in flavor and the presentation was unremarkable. There was really no ambience. There were lots of tvs playing old MTV videos, and the noise level was fairly high. We would not return.

I was with a lady who has a hard time walking and uses a cane. The hostess was very happy to sit us where we would be comfortable. She went out of her way to meet our needs. Our waiter Nikki was excellent also. I let the manager know that we had an excellent experience too. My out of town guest thought her enchiladas where excellent

Visited Fred’s for Super Bowl 57. Great food and fun, relaxed atmosphere. Friendly greeting was received by Lucas at the hostess station and great service by our tatted drummer from SF and Brianna. Manager Marco went the extra mile by stopping by our table to see that we were enjoying our meal and everything was to our satisfaction. For a special treat order the churros as they are delicious.

We came here because it had good reviews when we searched for best places to have breakfast in Costa Mesa but this is not a place for breakfast. They only have black coffee and it is more for lunch or dinner, so we were very disappointed. However, there ia a great view of the beach and ocean. The tacos are very fried and they were too dry to eat. However, the carnitas were very good. Thank you.

Arrived to find out the Host replied, “we don’t see OpenTable Reservations at all”. -1 star Sat down with a party of 8 which had to be split into 2 tables. -1 star Lipstick on the coffee mug. -2 stars Poor communication with the server. - 1 star Food was good and unique, but not authentic. +1 star

Did not honor open table reservation during air show 01Oct. Was turned away. Did not even offer a table inside with plenty of tables available prior to air show start. I had to ask if bar seating is available like a walk in. We ended up at HQ gastro pub was treated like royalty there and without reservation.

We got the table in the corner to look at the beach view, we got there once they opened so it was a little bit of a wait getting our menu's/food since the kitchen was barely opening but I loved it! It was super cute and a great date experience!

this is a hip mexican restaurant with loud music and a “spring break” sorta vibe. the outdoor seating has a great view and is quieter if you’d like to go for a view of the ocean and some decent food. i must say our server was exceptional.

The only reason to eat at Fred’s is the view. The floor was dirty and had trash strewn all over it. Swordfish was unevenly cooked; tender on one end, impossible to chew on the other end. Our server, while charming, was overwhelmed or undertrained. We never saw her after our food arrived. No refills offered on drinks. We waited a long time for our check. Disappointed, won’t be back.
