Fratello's Italian Tavern - Park Circle
Cozy restaurant with mediocre food and horrible service.
Open Table App seems to have issues communicating with the restaurants App
We were seated when we got a message from Open Table that we missed our reservation.
Also had people next to us whose reservation did not make it through to restaurant
Need to improve technology to ensure things like this do not happen
The Eggplant Rolatini was delicious. Always enjoy this restaurant and make a point to tell people about it. Probably one of the top 3 Italian restaurants in the greater Charleston area. Chef Kevin is a great asset -- not only makes sure food is prepared right but makes a point to deliver many of the dishes so he can check in with people. Always enjoy our talks. Wish they would improve their selection of Pino Grigios.
We've been coming here for special occasions the last 2 yrs. The calimari appetizer was just ok but the stuffed mushrooms were excellent. My wife had the scallops and they were very good served on a bed of nice beans and squash. I always have the diavola di mare and specifically requested the pasta be served al dente. It was like mush. I realize they probably cook it in bulk in advance. But at less than a dollar a pound they need to honor a guests request and boil some firm. It takes 10 minutes. It really took away from the meal. The service was good as always.
I love Fratello’s, the food and service are always fantastic. I love the ambiance of the restaurant. However, it is very crowded, tables are too close together leaving the unfortunate ones stuck in the middle to feel like they are in the way. I made reservations for my daughters birthday, and we were literally seated 3 feet in front of the door- anyone trying to wait on their customers or trying to leave were trapped, and had to walk the lenght of the restaurant to go around- my husband and I stood up and moved our chairs to allow people to get out, during our meal. I do not think I will go back for dinner. I will stick to lunch when it is not so crowded.
We were out of towners who googled and found Fratello’s and would definitely go back again! Excellent food and service!
I thought the building was beautiful and we had a young waiter who was wonderful but the food was just Ok. I ordered Chicken Marsala and for $20 the portion was extremely small. Just a bit of angel hair pasta and 3 little slivers of chicken with tons of mushrooms and onions?!? I’m from NY and never have I seen onions in Marsala sauce. The plate was full of them. I feel like we paid for onions and mushrooms.
Overall I wouldn’t go back. The price is way too much for the food.
Love this restaurant! Great service and the food is always amazing. Nice for date night, girls night out, boys night out, or just grabbing dinner and drinks after work. Great staff too!
We had the special Salmon Salad it was delicious. Every meal i've had there was very good.
If you haven't been give it a try!
Everything was great there were 6 of us and we had a great time. There was 1 item on the bill (which by the way was $348 ) that I found cheap and insulting. It was a $2 per whisky on the rocks for”prep pour for rocks”
Are you kidding me $2 per drink to put ice in a glass
Sat at the bar for dinner. Your bartender was a nice guy but he spent more time talking with his friends at the end of the bar than taking care of his other customers. Waited several times for extended periods needing something and not able to get his attention. It was a shame because the food was pretty good.
Worth the drive! Our waiter, Preston, was perfection! The pasta was a BIT overcooked for our taste but the flavors in each of our dishes more than made up for it. We spent a few hours there and enjoyed dessert and drinks afterwards before heading back into town to celebrate my sister's bachelorette party. It was a perfect local gem find.
Fratello's always has the best food and atmosphere! A cozy restaurant, we have never left unhappy or not full! Preston was our server on this visit and he was awesome! He knew his menu perfectly and made sure all our requests were met. He checked on us just enough that we knew he was looking after us but not so much it hampered the conversation or dinner. He was very pleasant and made the dinner experience even better! On a side, Fratello's has the very best Moscato wine I've ever had. I didn't get a chance to ask what vineyard it was but if you're there you MUST try it!
It wasn't crowded so we had exceptional service but I think the service is great here all the time! I was surprised that they had Linguine con Vongole! Fabulous!! In a white wine sauce that was to die for!! This is only my second time there but I will be back!!
We went here for my wife's birthday on Friday 2/22. I made the reservations online and in the event comment box put down birthday (what options) and nothing was brought to her on her day. Loved the place, food was great , it was a packed house so service was expected to be a little challenged but everyone one was on it. We'll be back.
One of our favorite places!! The food is always fantastic and the service is wonderful. Great date night place.
Amazing food and our waitress was knowledgeable and super awesome!!
Had a birthday dinner for a colleagues this week. The server was less than on point! my "special" meal option was over priced and not worth the $ even though they did reduce it by 50%. Building is veyr old and not well ventilated... was very warm and stuffy.
The food and service was excellent. I commend Lauren, bar tender and server for her knowledge of drinks and good conversation. My husband and I especially liked the Italian Mule she introduced to us.
We will certainly be back again with friends.
We are from New Jersey and were excited to learn so was the owner.
Really nice "local" place. Food was excellent and very good service. We are planning on going back next month and will recommend to our friends.
My first time
I live in Baltimore down to Charleston seeing friends
I found Fratellos here on open table
I will come back
Everything was great
Just be sure you have reservation and be ready for some noise
But it was all great
Been there twice. Sat at bar once and table one. Service at both great and food excellent both times. Group of 6 second time and everyone loved their food choices. Everyone working there was nice and service was spot on! Will be making this a regular routine for dinners out.
Great place and service highly recommend. We will be back
Fantastic visit, as usual! The food and wine was delicious, and all six of us enjoyed our selections.
Food was average. I expected authentic and more taste
Love the food. Great drinks and service. Bartender makes drinks nice and strong. Good place for a friendly gathering or date night.
We absolutely love Fratellos. Always great food and excellent service.
Fratello's is our favorite Italian restaurant in Charleston with classic red sauce and a great vibe. It is definitely a neighborhood gem! Portions are very generous so be warned, you won't leave hungry.
Food is always excellent and the wine choice is excellent. Service is excellent. My only complaint is that the dinner menu apparently never changes. It seems that they should change things up a little now and then.
Food was prepared well and was the best Italian restaurant we have been to so far.
I've been twice for dinner on a weeknight. I tried to walk in on a Friday evening but it was a 1 hour wait... so, yeah, it's popular.
Both times I went the food, drinks, and service were excellent. They have a small menu of the expected dishes and a couple of options. I'm a basic guy... I had Lasagna once and Spaghetti with meatballs... the meatballs are fantastic.
The second time I went they had an excellent Jazz Trio featuring Matt Sciaro, Noodle McDoodle, and Fuller Condon. Here is the FB event. It's over, but has the deets.
I'll definitely go again before I leave (I'm here on business). I highly recommend it for a nice, reasonably priced Italian meal. It's in the historic district of N. Charleston and there are many restaurants and bars, including a nice little hidden Cigar and Wine joint (look for Havana Bar). You can find an Irish Pub, a brewery, a couple of grunge bars, an outdoor - bring-your-dogs bar, and much more!
Fratellas is one of my favorite restaurants. I love the North Charleston location despite living in mt pleasant and the Ion location is closer. I just feel like I get away when I go to park circle. We usually hit Accent on Wine before for wine and charcuterie. Then dinner at fratellas. Love their manicotti, chicken piccata and lasagna. I had their salmon last night and it was a little dry. But it’s a great restaurant with a lot of charm and ambiance!!!!
The hostess was welcoming and the very new waitress was friendly but each of the four entrees was fair as was the appetizer.
It was "ok". Loud. Service "leisurely". Food took a long time to come out. I looked away and my unfinished salad had been whisked away....... Maybe short-staffed.
This is certainly one of the better Italian restaurants in the Charleston area. It never fails to please me and my guests. It is well worth the trip to Park Circle which is becoming quite a destination.
We arrived early for our reservation but were seated immediately. The restaurant filled quickly so I am glad we arrived a little early. There were numerous large parties which made the noise level high, but not so bad that we could not have a conversation. The service was very good but not exceptional and I would say that was more of a factor of how busy it was and the number of large parties the servers had to handle.
We had the calamari app and it was exceptional. We then shared a pasta dish and the Chicken Parmigiana and both were excellent. I kept trying to stop stop eating because the plates were so large, but I couldn't control myself. I just kept going back for "1 more bite" until everything was gone - lol.
I definitely recommend Fratellos.
Excellent menu with a variety which will please a variety of pallets. Service was exceptional and drink we're very well prepared.
Was a little too loud but the food was excellent.
Waitress was fun and friendly.
It is worth the trip
Everything about this restaurant was amazing will return
The food was delicious. Small, intimate atmosphere. Reservations strongly recommended since numerous parties were turned away but there is some limited seating at the bar.
