Just arrived into CHS - OpenTable was our best resource. Reservation was made and the meal was great as was the service!
Very nice meal. Especially nice to be able to dine in during this Covid era. They did a nice job of showing they were taking required steps without making us feel "contaminated" as is the case with other places we recently dined.
We use to eat here regularly before the pandemic so this was our first time since they were able to return to indoor seating. We love this place and will return again. However, this time the mussels were different. Can’t put my finger on it—-maybe light on garlic. Lasagna was it usual FANTASTIC!
The food and service were both equally phenomenal. Our sever Richard made sure we had a great experience for my girlfriend’s birthday and the the chef was very friendly as well.
I usually get the Clams with Linguine. I let the server know that the pasta was overcooked and the dish was watered down. The flavor was not like it had been the other times I order the dish.
The food was great and service was no exception. This is the place for great Italian food.
Father’s Day Outing
This restaurant is located in a quaint shopping area with interesting stores & lots of free parking.
We have dined there a few times. Food & service have always been very good. This is a very popular place so reservations are recommended.
Jules was a helpful attentive server, the food good, we were very pleased.
Dinner with old friends. Excellent as always. Ordered old favorites- lasagna, manicotti, Angel hair with meatballs & eggplant parm. Shared antipasto . They loved it.
So glad Fratello’s is open again. Staff is great and Kevin continues to knock it out of the park! Chicken parmigiana and eggplant dishes were perfect! Five stars!
Everything was delicious and perfect. The shrimp appetizer was so good but what was better was the broth that you should dip the good bread in.
Our server Richard was outstanding! Give helpful ideas to change up a few things to make our night and meals more perfect. I left my desert up to him and he came out with something not even on the menu. As well as you have to try the tiramisu.
Food is always delicious!! Staff is great!!
Absolutely fell in love with this place there was nothing I would’ve changed the food was excellent the wait staff was excellent the owner even came out and asked everyone how they enjoyed the mail I can’t wait to go back!
Very nice people. Fido’s was Good-plus. Nice downtown street to walk around.
Food and service excellent. My only complaint was the peroni I ordered. It was not served in a peroni glass but one about 10ounces and charged $6, which I feel was excessive.
Typical italian. Menu somewhat limited or would have been great. Fun evening The waiter got slammed when we arrived but handled it well
Food is great. One of the better Italian Restaurants in Charleston (for food). Service was disappointing. Waitress was friendly but our table was never cleaned in between courses so large particles of food were just lying around (not from us, knocked off when the plate when they were changing courses). They did not bring the proper plates for the bread that is served with oil/vinegar so we had to do it ourselves on our own plates. One of the servers touched my fork on the end I was (supposed) to eat off of. Another server dragged her sleeve through the parmesan cheese bowl... Many little things like that made this a below par for what you expect from a nice (higher priced) restaurant. Sloppy is the term I'd use. It's definitely not a quiet place either. We were on a date and like a quiet atmosphere, although that may appeal to other groups so I get that. Overall, good food, sloppy service.
Best spot ever 💯💯💯
Fratello's is outstanding. Took my Mom, who loves Italian, to dinner here. Wine cocktails and lots of food. We had the shrimp antipasti, Ceasar salad spaghetti meatball marinara, and beef medallions. Chocolate cake for dessert was perfect.
I was very pleasantly surprised by how little the bill was when we finished and looked it over several times to ensure they hadn't forgotten to charge for something. Very affordable for this level of dining!
Great local Italian place love to visit when In Charleston
Local feel reasonable prices and just really good food
Wear your big pants 🤣
Loved everything about this restaurant except for the noice. The food was fantastic as well as the service. We will go back to dine there very soon.
We were a party of six and were seated quickly with great hospitality. Service was timely and the food was very good. Our server was quick to the table and informative of the specials and any questions we had. We love that they offer split on larger dishes. And the fratello salad with chicken is a favorite. This is our go to spot before we attend shows at the coliseum or performing arts center. Happy to recommend it.
Fratello’s used to be one of my favorite restaurants. After a respite of a couple of years, I returned with my husband and some friends only to be disappointed with the quality of my meal. My veal was cold, chewy and veiny. The piccata sauce had little taste. The spaghetti was a lump of sauceless pasta dumped on the side. I should have returned the whole thing. My husband’s linguine with seafood was much better as was a friend’s eggplant parmesan. However, the restaurant just didn’t have the feel it used to have. We won’t be back.
We are so happy to find a good Italian restaurant in Charleston. My husband loves eggplant lark and he was happy.
Service and food all excellent and outstanding. Cannot wait to return. You will be happy after eating here. Yummy
We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere and the service was excellent. We will certainly be going back!
Went last week for the first time. Everything was so excellent we went back again a week later and had the same fantastic experience. Our new favorite Italian restaurant.
Our waiter Johnathan took great care of us.
Awesome! A Charleston favorite for us!
My wife and I love Italian food in this restaurant absolutely is one of the finest in the Tri-County area. A delicious lasagna, so big we had to bring some of it home. Fantastic service and a very reasonable price. A really great Italian restaurant!
Our group of 5 visited this restaurant while visiting Charleston over the weekend. Great ambiance, delicious food and a very attentive waiter (Preston)! Thank you.
Very dark..honestly could not see menu or food..finally moved to a table with a lamp..This needs to be corrected! Spaghetti and meatballs..meatballs good..spaghetti did not have enough sauce..veal, both Marsala and picatta dry....not our best experience!
I have never had a bad meal at Fratellos’s they have wonderful dishes and it is in a great location.
Two of us dine out frequently and we appreciate good food and service in the Charleston area. Sadly, Fratello's Italian Tavern was a big disappointment. Johnathan, our server, was attentive and answered our questions.
We started off with:
Crispy calamari tossed with sliced sweet or hot cherry peppers. – $13
This dish was tiny, really skimpy. I mean really insubstantial for two to share.
The squid was almost paper-thin but nicely dusted with a crispy batter.
Next, we shared:
Crisp romaine, garlic herb croutons, pecorino romano, tossed in house-made Caesar
dressing. – $11
This dish was greatly overwhelmed with dressing and cheese. Way too much of both. It was almost inedible.
Next, one had:
The house special, Seafood tossed with Linguine in a red sauce. - $28
This diner enjoyed this dish.
Next, one had:
White wine, lemon, garlic, herbs, capers, and butter. -$24
This diner said it was dreadful. The sauce of lemon and butter was overpowering. Almost greasy and bitter. The veal was not pounded thin as specifically requested to the waiter. Instead, it was lumpy and chewy and unpalatable. This diner did not finish this dish. The side of angel pasta was served with marinara sauce. The pasta was not al dente and the sauce was thick and gooey.
One diner had two glasses of Chianti and the other had a soft drink.
The total bill was over $120 with tax and tip.
I can't think of an Italian restaurant in the greater Charleston area that I like better!!
Veal was very good. Much better than the apps and salad.
Service was excellent
A bit noisy ! Service and food were excellent
Great dining experience. Very satisfied!
