Linguine alle Vongele
Fresh clams, simmered in parsley and garlic.
Perfectly seasoned meat sauce, Italian sausage, and a blend of imported cheeses.
Bone- in chicken simmered with bell peppers, sweet onions, cremini mushrooms and Chianti in a rich tomato sauce with garlic, herbs and served with grilled herb potatoes.
Great service and food.
Great dinner with friends. Food was fantastic, friendly server. It’s a noisy restaurant but still enjoyable! One of the better Italian restaurants in charleston area
Food was excellent, the service was great and the desert was fantastic.
Food and ambiance was great service was extremely poor
This has always been our go to place when we want to celebrate and have a date night. We are repeat customers, we were in town and we want to celebrate the new year and not a new chapter in our lives but we start a new book.
We made reservations, they seated does immediately, and we were lucky enough to get our favorite waitress. I ordered the the Linguine alle Vongele. The waitress returned a little while later to let us know that they were out of clams so I decided to try the veal piccata. The veal was out of this world it was tender has so much robust flavor with the lemon and capers it was served over a angel hair pasta. This is where things turn the little bit awry, as we were given our bill the table next to us was getting their their dinner served. Much to my surprise a gentleman was served linguine alle Vongele. A dish filled with clams, there was no shortage of clams on his plate. As our waitress came by to pick up the debit card, I nicely said once again how much I enjoyed my veal piccata but I was a little confused because a gentleman right next to me was just served linguine and clams and we were told that there was no longer any clams in the kitchen. She was very apologetic and also confused herself, to shorten up an already lengthy review, they did call me for my meal but the overall experience left a sour taste in my mouth.
Great local spot for Italian food.
very disappointed with our meal. Ordered 2 Veal Parmesan dinners and most of what we got was thick breading very little veal cutlet. And the veal itself wasn't pounded down, it was more of medallions of veal like you would have if you ordered veal marsala. Not a happy customer that's for sure, even though they took off one of the meals. Ordered the appetizer of sausage with peppers and onions, that too was mostly lots of breading, not what we were expected not for what we paid $10. We ordered Canoli as a dessert and the shell had not taste very bland. Don't think we will be coming back again
The food and atmosphere were great! They were very busy with a lunch rush and understaffed, but everyone was very attentive.
Thank you so much for the kind words. We're very happy you enjoyed your experience. We hope to see you soon!
The food was phenomenal to top off with a cannoli for dessert.. we couldn't ask for better service also friendly happy and bubbly..
Outstanding meal, service, ambiance. Great place for friends’ gathering.
Table was available at time of reservation. Server was prompt and answered questions about specials and the wine list. Food arrived promptly, what was supposed to be cold was cold, what was supposed to be hot was hot. Would recommend Fratello's for good Italian dinners.
Service at beginning slow, but understandable.
Went to go get drinks from bartender, asked if we had table, said yes but sever seems to be busy.... replied "we all are" found it snippy, but he did return my credit card!!
the mussels we fine, but charcuterie plate was a pile of cold cuts and cheese. not very good. The entree's we very good. Fettuccine & Lasagna. Desserts were real good also, loved the tiramisu in the martini glass. Would have preferred to have dessert, coffee severed at the same time. We will come back, this was our first vist.
Always great service and delicious food!!
Manager was very friendly and responsive to an error in our dinner. Friendly atmosphere as a whole food was delicious and fresh.
Great Italian food in a very comfortable and inviting setting. Used OpenTable to find the restaurant and it looked closed when we walked up, but they were VERY open for business. From the moment we walked in we were treated like family.
Food was very solid and highly recommend the chicken parm. Great salads too and their bread service was excellent. Did not have room for dessert and will defintely be back.
Authentic italian in a happening area. Fratello’s is bangin’
Absolutely wonderful experience! The food and service were both fantastic!! Highly recommend!
Love this place! Will definitely return. Food and service were excellent.
Amazing!! Loved the place so much. The food is always good!
Our waitress Ashley was amazing. Thank you for making our Anniversary and our friends Birthday special. We definitely will be returning.
The food was underwhelming, the calamari wasn’t very good and my boyfriends fettuccine Alfredo looked like noodles in a parm cream broth. Service and drinks were good though.
Veal was tough, ravioli (the special) was swimming in cream sauce. Generally the food lacked flavor and inspiration
Very nice family dinner !
Excellent restaurant, super nice staff and the food was great!
Amazing. Will definitely go back often! The good is amazing and service was awesome.
It was dinner for a birthday. Everything was great.
always a favorite of ours, food is consistent and the location is very convenient.
Food was excellent. Waiter advice about portions and sharing was spot on.
Had the eggplant and was delicious.
The bartender was good also, had a Moscow Mule.
Easy to park, nice evening to walk around after dinner.
We started with the calamari which had absolutely no seasoning and the house Chianti which was also poor. The only other Chianti available for purchase was a $62 bottle which was too pricey for a Wednesday night out.
For our entrees, I had the veal marsala which had a great flavor, but strange consistency as a layer of oil sat on top. My husband's meal of pork was "drowning in tomato sauce" and unexpected. The pork was good but the polenta was bland making it taste like tomato mush. The brightest light was our server, Shelby, who was super sweet and attentive. I am on the fence as to whether we would give this restaurant another try. The best thing we enjoyed there was the tiramisu, so it might be a great place for dessert and coffee.
When I told server that I was undecided between two items, he without hesitation recommended the pork loin. It was a wise choice! The sauce was perfect along with the meal. Wife ordered the eggplant parmesan. She was very pleased with her choice. The mushroom caps as a starter set the bar very high for the remainder of the meal. We have discovered a new favorite place to eat!
First, we were seated for quite sometime before anyone came to our table. Service was horrible. I had to stop our server to ask for things because she never came to our table. The restaurant was small, and there were at least 3 other servers, somI do not believe they were under staffed. I ordered the veal parmesan. My food was floating in a plate of water that I had to soak up. My food therefore then tasted "watered down". The veal was tough and the breading just fell off. I was expecting much better food and a much better experience. If ever back to Charleston, I definitely would not go back!
Great food and outstanding service.
good variety on the menu, nice wine selections, a bit dark with lighting
Had shrimp scampi, caesar salad and both were great. Ashley is a great waitress
We really enjoyed this place and will return. There were some bumps in the road but they were all handled to our satisfaction. I would have given more stars to the food except the chicken parm was burnt when it was brought to the table. I do have to say they replaced that dish and the new one they brought was excellent but the first one should not have left the kitchen. Overall we were very happy, our server was extremely nice and patient even with a packed restaurant and what seemed like not enough staff (which we know is the norm recently in most places) so we were not in a hurry and let him know that. Dessert was delicious as well.
The best service I’ve received ever. The food was amazing the pricing was affordable and portion size was great. I would definitely return and recommend.
Very consistent great food. Like stepping back in time. When in town this is our go to.
Just food was not good no taste over priced
The service was great. Our waitress made great drink recommendations and was helpful with relaying specials, etc. The bread, salads & appetizer were good. We were looking forward to a tasty pasta dish and it was underwhelming in terms of taste & presentation.
We had the eggplant, chefs special scallops, stuffed mushrooms, Bellini and cucumber martini. Food was excellent. I would suggest, however, serving the scallops over risotto instead of Alfredo. Server was new, but attentive and very personable. Your chocolate cake was THE BEST I’ve ever had! Hands down
