First rate food and service. The gnocchi were divine.
As my 3 year old granddaughter, who I call a free-range farm girl, claims to be "country strong and city quick", we think Frascati fits that bill as well. We love the combination of neighborhood ambiance and city style that make it one of our favorite San Francisco restaurants. The food is both rich in earthy flavors and light on the palate. The smoked salmon bruschetta is fabulous.
The pan sauteed/roasted chicken and the pork chop are outstanding, and the pasta dishes are exquisite. The desserts are the perfect finish, especially the house made ice cream. Frascati is on our must do list every time we visit.
Frascati was an excellent choice. We were warmly greeted at the door and walked upstairs to our table overlooking the 1st floor. The ambiance was cozy and elegant at the same time. I’m so glad we were able to get in to dine as I had made the reservations at the last minute. We’ll be back for sure. Food was delicious!
All four of us were delighted with each dish ordered. Shared 3 delicious appetizers, each ordered different entrees: pasta, fish, chicken and risotto, all sampled each other’s. Yummy.
Apple crips was best dessert
Unbelievable food!! Service was fast and efficient. The menu had something for everyone. The dessert's were notable in their creativity.
Always a fabulous experience.
Top five in SF for sure!
Lovely food from start to finish. Expert service too.
Visiting from out of town. Great service and food!
The grilled bread salad was very good. The strip steak was good but I honestly don’t like to be served a good steak, cut in half. The sea bass, was large but the cooking was, uneven and not particularly flavorful. The cheesecake was excellent. The staff are all terrific.
Had friends in town wanting a neighborhood experience...so walked to Frascati’s. Sat outdoors, had a lovely young lady serving us who was friendly, knowledgeable on the menu and took really good care of us. Our friends had the papardelle with lamb ragout and said was the best they’d ever had. My husband devoured the grilled pork chop, and this sounds terrible but I forgot the name of my dish. It was pasta with a creamy sauce and it was fabulous. Good food, good wine, good service, beautiful night - a wonderful experience all around. So glad they’re in our hood.
Attended with my wife while visiting San Francisco from the UK - celebrating 30th Wedding Anniversary. Had visited previously a couple of times during business trips over the last 2-3 years. Quality and standards maintained, although service was a little brusque at times, partly because we were dining a little later than normal. Overall, the visit repaid my faith in Frascati to 'deliver' on this important occasion.
Our return to Frascati was not disappointing in any way. Staff, service, food and presentation right on. Becoming a favorite whenever we return to San Francisco
Love this restaurant! Always a great meal and a good time. Service and food are incredible!
Great neighborhood spot.
Great atmosphere, great food and great service. We intend to return every time we visit San Francisco.
A great neighborhood gem, with a classy, cozy and friendly atmosphere. Good wine and friendly service. Great date spot.
Just a lovely little neighborhood gem of a restaurant. When I visit San Francisco, this is one of favorite places to eat. Classy, elegant, unpretentious, delightful, fabulous service. Would highly recommend for a date, dinner with friends, or business dinner.
This has been one of your favorite neighborhood restaurants in SF. The food was not as good as we have experienced in the past. We will go back and hope that the food quality is better. We had bread salad, pappardelle with ragu and the steak.
Has been a couple years since we payed a visit. Happy to find the pork chop is still delicious and the dessert menu is outstanding. We had a great time.
This restaurant is an absolute gem that I wish I had known about years ago. The ambiance is romantic, our server was knowledgeable and friendly, and the food was OUTSTANDING. We had the half chicken, steak, lamb paparadelle and the beef bolognese. All were incredible. Looking forward to visiting again in the near future.
I have eaten at Frascati several times in the past, and I generally found it acceptable, but not great. However, on this visit, I was very pleasantly surprised-- the food was very, very good;maybe even excellent. Great neighborhood spot!
Frascati is the Crown Jewel of Russian Hill Restaurants. The food, serviceand ambience are impeccable. Everything is done without presence but with the goal of making diners happy they came to this excellent "California Italian" establishment. John welcomes , oversees and orchestrates the action which never disappoints. Five stars to this wonderful restaurant.
Awesome food paired with amazing service and a nice atmosphere made for a pretty good night.
Was good. Had expected more but no complaints. My pasta was great
Absolutely lovely food, carefully presented, and exceptional value.
The gnocchi with white truffle oil was amazing! It was an appetizer, but it was all I needed for a meal. Frascati has a vibrant ambiance with friendly and knowledgeable staff. A great find!
Frascati is just one of my favorite dining experiences in San Francisco. I've eaten there maybe half a dozen times, and the food has always been fantastic. I think I've had maybe one appetizer where I've gone " eh this just didn't come together the way i hoped it would." But everything else has been superb without being pretentious. The staff is warm, friendly and sometimes very funny. The atmosphere is like a charming neighborhood restaurant with an understated elegance that doesn't scream for attention but is well integrated in it's personality. It's everything a family owned and operated restaurant should be. If there is a knock on the place it's that parking can be a bit of a challenge, the flip side of that is that the cable cars run right outside the joint. Imagine, having a legitimate reason as a local to ride the cable cars... to a romantic night of dining.
Excellent Valentine's Day meal, lovey location, food and service.
Have been going here of and on for ten years. Feels like it's past its prime. Three course menu was massively overpriced. Food arrived cold. Service was rushed. Overall disappointing experience. Used to be our favorite place in town years ago but doubt we'll be going back.
Frascati is amazing. It's everything one hopes for in a local, neighborhood, cozy restaurant. The food is delicious, with a special call out for the octopus salad, handmade pasta, and grilled chicken entree. Desserts were lovely as well. All this goodness was topped off with lovely ambiance and flawless service. The owners Jon and Rebecca keep a watchful eye and give their guests warm and genuine attention. We will be back.
Amazing Italian in San Fran. The gnocchi was excellent, and the papardelle pasta was light and delicious. Sat upstairs and able to watch the chefs do their magic. Service was outstanding. Thank you for an outstanding evening!
Very crowded, tables very close together, conversation difficult. Best thing we had was chees plate, but entrees very small for big price. Would not return.
Food was fantastic as always! Priced to match, but still fantastic!
Consistently good Food, good service, One of my all time favorites.
Small cozy neighborhood eatery. Good food, service and comfortable setting. Full of locals and right on the cable car line. Will definately go back.
The experience was great except the restaurant was freezing cold! They moved us twice but to no avail. It was simply REALLY cold and they said there was nothing they could do to fix it(?). Dress warm and enjoy their delicious food!
Lovely atmosphere and delicious dining. Everyone enjoyed their meals and we all ordered different items.
We asked the waiter what dishes he recommended and he said all of them, and he was right. Everyone ordered something different and loved it. Wonderful food, wonderful atmosphere, small and cozy, a true San Francisco experience!
A nice neighborhood restaurant. A nice, knowledgeable waitress. Octopus salad was excellent, pappardelle was not al dente, slightly over-cooked, but very flavorful.
