About Frank's Americana Revival
Frank's is a classic neighborhood restaurant, with big city appeal. With a recognized reputation for memorable food and great service, the "Americana Revival" menu features locally sourced fruits and vegetables, along with fresh Gulf seafood. Try the chicken fried steak! It has been highlighted by multiple food critics as "the best" in the State of Texas. The highly acclaimed Fried Chicken and Maple Brined Pork Chop are just as good.
The steaks are all Certified Angus and come with generous sides on the same plate, and the salads are almost legendary.
Frank's is a place where you can meet your friends in the bar, dine there, or experience the full menu in the dining room.

Frank's Americana Revival Ratings and Reviews
Great spot for a business lunch or wonderful dinner!
I've been to Frank's for business lunches and long lounging dinners with many bottles of excellent wine. The Chef does a great job with seasonal specials to keep the menu interesting. The wine guy / manager does a great job listening to you then recommending.
My wife’s birthday. Frank’s is a special place and one of my wife’s favorite restaurants. Frank’s is intimate setting is perfect to pleasant conversation and of course the food and service are always top shelf.. As many times as we have dined at Frank’s, I had never ordered the fried chicken, it’s a house specialty. I was not disappointed. My wife ordered the Salmon, outstanding. We shared a dessert of cranberry bread pudding.
A perfect meal, a pervent evening, happy wife, happy life.
I had the fish special and my wife had the sirloin steak. The fish was overly salty and the sirloin steak was undercooked and not particularly flavorful.
I've eaten here several times before for business lunches so I was quite surprised by the experience with my wife.
You can always count on Franks for great service and delicious food.
We had a friend in from out of town and Frank's proved to the be the perfect location. We could hear each other and were able to catch up. Our table had the gulf coast seafood platter, the chicken fried steak and the beef short ribs. Everyone loved their dishes and finished the whole plate! We are already planning to get a group together in February for dinner at Frank's.
I can't believe this place has been around the corner from me for 6 years and I haven't heard about it. Maybe River Oaks residents are trying to keep it all to themselves. Excellent food and outstanding service. Finally found a restaurant that carries the fabulous wines from the Guadalupe Region in Baja Mexico. The owner came by our table and talked with us a while and made us feel very welcome. I am hoping that the ice-
storm stops tonight so I can make my birthday reservations for tonight. I am craving their fried green tomatoes with shrimp remoulade sauce!
Frank's is a great place for a business lunch and an evening meal. The food is always fantastic. The fish is never over-cooked and the shrimp and grits are some of the best in Houston. The salads are always great, especially April's salad. The service is always top notch and one of the best things is we can always hear each other speak. Most restaurants in Houston are so loud, you can't hear conversations very easily. This makes Frank's a great choice.
The overall rating for Franks is outstanding from the hostess, to the waiter, and to most of all to the chef. My meal was made for perfection as well as the presentation. I highly recommend Frank’s Americana Revival to friends and family. We will definitely return soon. It was a wonderful meal to start the New Year!
We went to Frank's (party of 4) on New Years Eve. We arrived early and sat in the bar for a cocktail. They were well made and their cocktail menu was good. We were seated at our reservation time and proceeded to have an outstanding experience. The waiter was very knowledgeable and spent time reviewing menu options with us. We enjoyed several items from the appetizer and salad menu before moving on to entree's. All were very well prepared and the service was outstanding. The wine list is very good with normal (a little high) markups. This is a very good restaurant.
We went here on NYE for my birthday and initially, it felt hectic and I was nervous the service was not birthday celebrating worthy. But once things settled down for the restaurant, we were seated and the service was great. The menu was interesting and I am allergic to wheat and tomatoes and they were understanding to it and made my dining experience great. I think everyone liked their dishes - no complaints. We brought in a birthday cake and the waitress was great ensuring we had everything we needed. Overall, the experience and food was great and a good place to dine for families, dates, friends, special occasions, etc...I will say the crowd is a bit older than I had expected but that is neither here or there - it was an observation. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals.
Things were good, especially the food. Our waiter Christian was very helpful, knowledgeable about the menu and had a great personality. I don't expect things to go perfect when you are a party of 8, but it was the little things that made this night not as good as it could have been. Due to a mysterious seating problem we were seated a little late, but in a private wine room (good for us). There was no salt/pepper on the table, and our group was given one small basket of bread. Some of us ordered an appetizer, and no plates came with that. Like I said, it was the little things that kept this from being an outstanding dinner.
