Frank's Americana Revival
The steaks are all Certified Angus and come with generous sides on the same plate, and the salads are almost legendary.
Frank's is a place where you can meet your friends in the bar, dine there, or experience the full menu in the dining room.
Reservations are recommended but not required. Come see what Chef Colin Shine is creating.

We use to love Franks. Went weekly. Unfortunately, they changed their menu in a rather large way.,our favorites are gone. Nothing similar to pasta bucatini . Took some of their regular salads away too. Use to have a core group of regular waiters..now, there’s different ones that seem to be new weekly. Disappointing visit this week.
Really excellent food! We had a double date and was able to have a conversation with no issue. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a nice dinner out.
an outstanding luncheon with perfect food and service! Thank You
Food is always outstanding and very good value. The fried chicken is an absolute must.
Rib-eye and filet that we ordered were very good, although my filet was a little rare for my taste. I sent it back and it came back medium rare instead of medium well but at that point I just gave up. Our waiter was attentive but he never asked me if the 2nd steak was cooked to my liking. I would at a minimum expect that at any restaurant. He did seem very rushed which was strange since it was not that busy. The vegetables and mashed potatoes were tasty. I wouldn’t rule out going back but think there are better steak places in Houston.
We just don’t come here often enough!! Food, ambience, service always good. We took my 88 yr old mother-in-law here for her first time. She absolutely loved it and her Fried Chicken (and bread pudding). It’s one of those restaurants that I tell everyone you are guaranteed to have great experience no matter what the occasion. Our waiter Juan was tops!
The chicken fried steak was great. My friend enjoyed the fresh fried chicken. I love coming to Frank’s as the atmosphere is pleasant and the
Service is good.
Just a great neighborhood restaurant and place to see old friends
Went for Friday lunch special Buttermilk Fried Chicken, Collard Greens and Mac&Cheese - Also special Vegetarian pasta for one of my guests
Frank's was the perfect venue to celebrate a colleague's planned retirement. Food was great, service was good, and we enjoyed the atmosphere.
Always good. Check menu carefully for up charges on salad adds
Excellent meal with friends. Frank's was a perfect setting to gather with old friends. The gumbo (duck and anduey sausage) was delicious. We enjoyed the table serving of the fried okra -- crisp and not greasy. The short rib and grits was the star of the show - perfectly prepared and falling off the bone. Wine selection was good and service was friendly and prompt. Definitely coming back on our next trip to Houston.
Best Fried Green Tomatoes
Poor service. I am there frequently. This experience wasn’t so good. We love the restaurant though.
Staff and Quality of Choices and Food (Best to make reservations also)
Y'all!!! Houston peeps!! If you've never been to Frank's Americana Revival, you need to go!! It's so beautiful inside, the service was impeccable and of course, the food was outstanding!! We will definitely go back.💖😍
Five of us from work to review a project. Could have a conversation and be heard. Memu took care of everyone from a cup of soup to a fillet ( salad with grilled salmon is special). Good solution for a working lunch.
Excellent food and nice variety - there's something for everyone
We live in Lake Jackson but venture into Houston once or twice a month for shopping and entertainment. Many times we choose to dine with our "friends" at Franks. It is never a wrong choice.
We strongly recommend this Houston gem.
Didn’t like our salad, nor main course
A+ rating all around as usual !!!
Our last Restaurant Week experience for 2019 was very nice. Service was exceptional, and food was tasty. We will definitely add Franks to our list of favorite restaurants.
Actually sat in the restaurant which is not something I typically do! I had the salmon with the cauliflower mash in the roasted vegetables which was absolutely amazing!
My friend had the roasted chicken and well let’s just say there was nothing left on the plate!
I had not eaten at Frank's before but tried it due to Houston Restaurant Week. I was delighted by the food, service, and ambience and will definitely be back!
The pimento biscuits with bacon jam were delicious! Our table joked about ordering a dozen to go. I also had the spare ribs. Smoky and so tasty, the meat was so tender it literally fell off the bone. Our server was friendly and highly professional, and the atmosphere was comfortable and quiet enough for a business lunch. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience. Frank's American Revival is my new favorite restaurant!
Business lunch was good and efficient.
We had a nice time at Frank's for dinner. I really enjoyed the Chicken with Mushroom Risotto and the Tomato Salad. My husband said the Gumbo was really good too.
Always love the food. Plus the owners are great!
Our server Cesar was outstanding, a great addition to the Frank’s staff!
Frank's has been our go-to special occasion place. We hit it Saturday for Houston Restaurant Weeks and took friends who'd never been before. I wish I could say it was all that I previously enjoyed. While it was nice to be greeted by Chris so warmly, we desperately miss Amy, the manager, and Juan, our server these past years. Both made the experiences there so special AND more upscale than what we experienced this weekend. While the food was tasty, it was lukewarm when arrived at the table. The waiter was obviously unfamiliar with the wine list and seemed to not understand the term my friend used when ordering the wine (a Gruner). My goodness...how can they make recommendations for wine? We got no real recommendations regarding the menu; heck, I can get service like that at Cafe Express. We were excited to share our special place with our friends; regrettably, it was disappointing.
We love coming to Frank's at least once per month!
The BBQ shrimp appetizer was delicious! I think next time I’ll have that for my meal- no sharing! The 3 of us ordered the chicken fried steak based on the reviews of how amazing it was. It was good, not over the top good. Cute place, just pricey for what we had.
The waiter was exceptional. The food was delicious.
Great place for family and friends!
Outstanding service, menu, choices.
We love the homey atmosphere and having Miguel as a server is a sure way to really enjoy your meal! He is knowledgable and so very attentive that you feel like he really cares that you have a wonderful experience.
Service slightly spotty but would attribute this to having a green server. Free valet parking. Great place, food and value. Restaurant Weeks dinner with recommended wine flight.
We went for the HRW. The tomato salad was great. The main was very disappointing Gunk on a hollowed green squash on collard greens. Yuck
Desserts were minuscule
Lovely restaurant in an unexpected location. Good food, good service.
Did the HRW menu and waiter acted like we had a disease. Remained aloof and indifferent. Seafood gumbo not offered but substitute was quite good, just not as on menu. Tuscan beans with lamb were bland like from a can. Lamb was good.
This restaurant continues to be one of our favorites in town. It's not pretentious, it's not "fancy" food, but it puts out some of the best Southern-style cooking you'll ever find...anywhere. Our favorites include the Fried Green Tomato appetizer (which includes shrimp and a spicy, just-right Remoulade dressing), and the Chicken-Fried Steak. Our guests from Atlanta enjoyed their food very much, as well. Owner Mike Shine stopped by the table, and was his usual hospitable self. Service, as always, was spot-on. Wine selection is among best in town, and reasonably-priced.
