Such a treat! Never been here before but would go again and again... It's so cool to be able to see live music again in the wake of Covid 19. The food was incredible, as well as the service. Would 100% recommend.
Good food, great music and lots of effort put into COVID protocols for distancing of tables, sanitizing, etc. Completely loved the experience, felt completely safe as far as social distancing, and will not hesitate to come back again!
One downside: They need to bring back and enforce the "No talking during performances" rule that used to exist here. With the reduced seating the constant chatter from a couple tables towards the back really carried, and it ruined the mood when listening to the performers on stage. There are plenty of other places without live music to go to if you want to talk with your friends in person or on the phone all evening - this shouldn't be the place you choose. Enjoy the great music along with your meal and a drink or two but as a courtesy to all the other patrons: keep the conversations confined to the breaks between sets or take it outside, please!
Great evening of music . Sound was terrific and the table service excellent . We did not eat food however the quality looked impressive
So thankful to have Frankie's in Vancouver. I love knowing that there is a place in the city that supports great live music and respects the artists who play there. The staff is fantastic.
Our server Joanie was amazing a great asset to Frankie’s Jazz club
We spent NYE with our family of 4 at Frankie’s. We had a great dinner & fabulous service but the live music is truly the stand out. It was our daughters’ first time experiencing live jazz music & we all had a great time. We will definitely be back with friends when we are allowed to gather again!
Great little Jazz bar and restaurant. Our servicer was a French girl that was super professional and fun. She provided excellent wine service. Really like when a 3 piece piano, bass and drums perform. Better than horns in this small place.
Absolutely great evening. Great place to celebrate a special birthday.
We had such a wonderful evening, Jennifer Hayes has a phenomenal voice and the band was amazing, not too mention the delicious food.
Awesome food, great music, good vibe! Help keep live music alive in Vancouver!
Excellent food/service/music! I would prefer that Frankie's had the hanging plexiglass partitions between the tables though, which would be my only caveat.
What a great club! The band was amazing, the food and the wine selection are exceptional! Amazing!!!
It was a lovely evening of live jazz music + drinks
Our experience at Frankies Jazz club was awesome and I would definitely go back there again. Food was delicious, and on point. As well the Music was right on and perfect for the atmosphere.
Finally our waitress was excellent and made our experience all the more special!!
Saw a wonderful band. Food was just ok. Had beef/ beet salad, good. Resoto was un -interesting and my partners lamb was very average.
Best bar tender in town!
The music is inexpensive considering the talent on stage.
Great club. food is excellent and staff professional. unfortunately the night we were there a couple of tables of drunken women who really detracted from the evening. also the drums tend to be a little loud as really wanted to hear the excellent pianist.
Great place for friends or date night loved it.
A fantastic location for live jazz music with some extremely talented musicians. Came here for an anniversary, our waiter Darryl was very kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. The overall ambience was perfect for a nice evening out.
Went to see jazz vocalist Maya Rae and trio. Fantastic singing and accompaniment.
The service was really good, she took the orders on time and was helpful and friendly. Even though they forgot to remove the ham from my pizza as I ordered, I was happy with the service. During the break, a woman left a noise policy on our table which was surprising for me as I believe we were not loud. But the disturbing part for me was the way she put it on our table, it was so rude, without explaining anything she just put it sharply and left.
Anyway, I liked the music and the atmosphere so I will go there again for sure. Overall I enjoyed my night, and I will recommend the place to my friends.
Great music and fantastic food for a reasonable price. Drinks are quite pricey, but food was good value.
Good little place. Be sure to check the acts before. They are doing a good job keeping everyone safe during COVID. Nice to support local businesses during this time. Service was great. Food was good over all. Some was great.
Love Frankie's! Excellent food/service/ambience/music & the tables were well-spaced out so felt safe too in these Covid-19 times. :)
Frankie's Jazz Club is, as the name says, primarily a venue for great music in a pleasant atmosphere. Frankie's is a haven for such an experience, especially during pandemic times when ther venues have lost in ambience. Sadly, food at Frankie's is still largely disappointing, even though it is attached the Frankie's Italian restaurant. My main course was over-salted with dry meat and heavy pasta. So be careful what meal you choose, but enjoy the great music all the same.
Frankies delivers! On a great atmosphere and amazing music! A really nice meal and service. It was food for the soul! Thank you Frankies for keeping tasty jazz alive!!!
Thank you Lindy, for your visit and your feedback. We'll be sure to pass along your comments to the team.
We had an unfortunate experience during our first visit here. Reserved our seats at the bar and through quiet conversation the bartender proceeded to shush us and placed a noise policy sign right in front of us. Respecting the musical talent I would’ve not expected that we were not permitted to have any conversation during our dining experience. We were so insulted that we ate and left as the environment now was spoiled by this rude action and not being able to have any level of conversation with the beautiful music in the background.
Thank you for your feedback. It's regrettable to hear of the manner in which you felt the need to leave the club. Our noise policy does in fact request guests keep their conversations to a min volume during performances, however does not mandate guests stay silent. We apologize for this misunderstanding. We'll discuss this case with our team and see where we can improve on our communication with our guests. If inclined, email us at email@example.com for more discussion.
Amazing service and food. First time at any type of jazz club, and I definitely regret not going sooner. The Red Rooster Cabernet Merlot is highly recommended.
Thank you Candace, for your visit and we appreciate your comments.
Please don’t ever put single people in the back corner, alone - behind a pillar!
It’s bad enough having to go out alone, to be shoved in the back like you don’t matter makes it worse.
You ALWAYS put singles at the bar
Hello. We appreciate you taking the time to provide us feedback on your experience and regret to learn that it was a negative one. Our regular practice is to seat singles at the bar, unless those seats have already been filled with resos that have been accepted earlier. Our seating rule is first reserved, first served. Seating on the whole is more challenging now while we operate under reduced seating rules but we hope you will try us again and we'll do our best to seat you at the bar.
Jim Byrnes and Simon Kendall were wonderful. Good sound, good service and generally good food although the caprese salad left a little to be desired. The pizza's were excellent and my friends enjoyed their lasagna.
So nice to get out for some live music.
Thank your for your visit and review.
Fabulous food, service. One of the few places with live Jazz. My children loved everything and would go again.
Incredible! Came here for my 24th birthday on Friday night and everything from service, to decor, to food and music was outstanding. Can't wait to come back here!
Thank you for your visit and review! See you again soon.
Great place to relax and listen to Jazz, enjoyed the visit. Great value and service!
Quality food. Quality service. Quality jazz performers. What more can I say!!
Thank you for your visit and review
With its dark and very cozy ambiance, Frankies is one the best places to go if you're looking for great live jazz, good food and drinks, and really good service. This was the fourth time I visited Frankies and they have had excellent service every time. I was also treated very well when I was there for my birthday with a free dessert.
Thank you Maria, for your visit and review. Can't wait for your 5th time!
Frankie's has excellent jazz and delicious food and great service.
Thank you Tim, for your visit and review.
A bit of a pricey night. Drinks were quite expensive
Thank you for your visit and feedback. We strive to keep our pricing fair, consistent and on par with the local, downtown market.
Who on planet earth boils gnocchi?! Not worth your time. Unless they have a headliner coming in for a show. The food, seriously, don't bother. If you plan to visit and listen to jazz, I'd suggest a Costco hotdog beforehand. It will be a lot better than the food they serve here.
Thanks for your visit, Brian. Boiling hand made gnocchi is actually quite common in many Italian kitchens. I understand you may not prefer this method and we regret not meeting your expectations. We hope you'll consider trying us again.
The manager threatened me to pay and leave when the music performance was not even finished when i asked for a different seat as my assigned seat was too close to the other guest seat at the bar. What a horrible service.
Hi. We understand you left on good terms with staff that evening. Unfortunate that we could not relocate you closer to the stage as all the seats were filled. However, you, spontaneously taking a standing spot next to stage is also prohibited and you were asked several times to return to your seat. We do our best to keep stools in place and at 6 feet apart but admit that some guests inevitably shift their seats and end up closer than we like. Let's hope we can all do better, next time.
