Frankie's Jazz Club
Good venue. Great music . Mostly older crowd but younger people as well. Was only able to book online up to 8:00pm and as we were seeing a hockey game beforehand which made it impossible to arrive before 10:00pm. Will definitely go again.
As always a great night. Good music and food .
Fantastic place! Cory Weeds Quartet was fabulous! Our waitress was great! Food was good. We will be back.
It was unpleasant discovery that bartender didn't make Negroni with correct/proper ingredients. Jazz was great like always.
Service was ideal. 5 stars for our waitress. Seats were close to the stage with nice sightlines. My chair wasn't comfortable and seemed to compound the issue l have with my back. Only ordered appies, dessert and drinks. Fried risotto balls were well cooked but virtually tasteless. Dylan Farmer' trio was terrific. I left with mixed feelings, though because without buying a single entree and just five appetizers, l left $300 lighter than when l arrived.
We had a wonderful evening with great jazz, amazing ambience and superb service! I’m so grateful Vancouver has such a gem! Looking forward to spending lots of jazz evenings here!
We enjoyed our visit at Frankie’s. They were very accommodating preparing a vegan dish for me which was amazing! We had the best seat in the house, we loved the music and even met a couple of new people that gave us suggestions where to visit in Vancouver since we were from Seattle. Thank you for making our evening enjoyable!
We enjoyed the music, but sadly the food was a big disappointment! I ordered the Bacon Cheese Burger and it came with NO bacon or cheese. My husband had the chicken club, very bland no flavour, we have had better food in a fast food restaurant. The waiter Tim was excellent, very attentive and apologetic, however I was only given a choice of a dessert which I did not want or a discount on the burger for the mistake in my order. I took the discount, it was only $4.95, they should have taken the whole amount off of the bill for such a terrible mistake in making a burger. Oh well, we still like going there and will again, but we will have drinks next time and pass on the food.
The kitchen prepared the Ahi tuna really well. Crusted outside and just barely warm inside- so tender and tasty.
We came for the New Orleans jazz. Such a great show that night; we hope that this band is back!
Delicious food and drinks, lovely ambiance. Very romantic
Music was great, food/service good as ever. Being regular patrons, it would be great if the menu was changed up a bit or more than 2 specials available. Outstanding musicians that deserve audience respect ( silence) when requested.
When I arrived, the hostess didn’t know I had requested a specific table. In fact, she didn’t know I wanted a table, and offered me a seat at the bar. I told her i wanted a table, and she offered me one in the bar. I would think if I requested a specific table and It was previously reserved, I would be assigned to a nearby table.
Fun times, great music!
Good food, good service , outstanding entertainment, however the piped music before and between sets was much too loud, making conversation very stressful. We asked to have turned down a bit but this was not done.
I enjoyed the dinner. Very Yummy. Music was a bit loud. I expected a more quieter atmosphere.
Didn't like being stuck as a single guest by the front door.
An amazing place for live jazz. Top notch musicians from around the world, excellent food and the best service in town. Highly recommended!
We love coming to Frankie's, we go often. It's the best Jazz bar in Vancouver if you want a true Jazz experience with very reputable bands. The service is always flawless. Will be back again for our 100th time very soon!
Saturday date night with my husband. Great seats for the entertainment. Music was so good, service couldn’t be better. Mushroom soup huge
Another great night at Frankies. Great band and atmosphere.
Patrons 2 tables away were more interested in talking than listening. Had to ask the server to tell them to keep it down.
Excellent music. Food was passable but heavy on salt. Excellent and polite service. Special prosecco wasn't fully chilled and had a slightly "off" taste. Parking is tricky and limited in the immediate vicinity.
As always, the music was top notch, the sound clear, the audience cool and the service staff is amazing.
Thanks for another great night Frankies.
This was a favorite place of mine previously. Unfortunately it was a major disappointment last night. The veal and beef in the pasta dish I ordered was over cooked and burned hard in parts. Couldn't and didnt even eat it. My wifes salmon was also overcooked, dry. I advise friends to hit this place up all the time but I dont know if I can recommend this place any longer :(
Well managed jazz club I‘d recommend to anyone!
Went to catch the evening jazz which was excellent. Great service - efficient & attentive. Food has improved.
Went to see the Wild Blue Herons which did not disappoint. The sight lines were good and the layout functioned well as a cabaret restaurant and jazz venue. Food was quite good but not exceptional. The pizza was tasty but a bit salty. Would go again depending more on the artists playing than the food.
Great service considering snow situation
Music the best
Frankies was great as usual. I really enjoy having the opportunity to listen to great music. Food is an add on really although it is fairly competent basic Italian.
Frankie’s has good food and great live jazz, would recommend for sure.
Our uncle loves jazz so we took him to frankies since I have heard its great for jazz and diner. Unfortunately, while the jazz was enjoyable the performer played for almost an hour and a half straight, and no one was allowed to talk at all during this time. After the initial performance there was 15 minute break and the it resumed for another hour where no one was allowed to speak. What a terrible idea, everyone would have been much more comfortable with being able to have conversations and enjoy the food and wine while listning to music in the background. I understand the no talking rule but for such long extended amounts of time? Totally kills the vibe and mood having to sit there unable to talk to the company you are with. Maybe 20-30 minutes of jazz and then breaks in between would have been wayyyy more enjoyable. Even our uncle who used to play in a jazz band couldnt stand it! What a shame, the place is nice and food is good but the ambiance was like a cemetary after a while. Let people talk and enjoy the night with the people they came with!
I mentioned it was my partner’s 25th birthday when booking the reservation and again to our server at the restaurant. She came back with a birthday dessert- then charged me for it on my bill without mentioning there would be a cost. The staff were so pretty relaxed about reminding people not to talk during the performance and at times I heard more of the conversation from the next table over than the music. The music and food were amazing but the service needs improvement.
Great music, great food, great ambience of
Excellent tribute to Aretha Franklin. Band was amazing , staff were friendly & overall was a great time.
A sweet little place to enjoy a good meal and watch a jazz concert. We had great seats with a full view of the stage.
We came for the live music which was outstanding. Brandon Isaak and the Saints of Swing were terrific,
The food and service were outstanding.
Great music, great food! Will be back for sure soon.
We wish they would change up their menu. We love it for the music, but are tired of eating there, even though the service is excellent.
