Frankie - Jersey City
Amazing service and unique food. Outdoor area is perfect too.
We loved our evening at Frankie. Outdoor dining was spacious and felt safe. Service was excellent. Food was so interesting with lots of great, unique flavors. Highly recommend!
Cute place to have brunch, great vibe. Food was good and there were healthy choices on menu.
We were able to get a seat outside, under the awning. I appreciate that the restaurant has had to change its layout to accommodate more outdoor diners because of COVID. However, the tables were very close to one another and we had a few awkward interactions with the group sitting at the table next to us because of it.
Logistics aside, the food and drinks were delicious. Portions are spot on. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and it's a really place to spend a few hours catching up with friends!
really great food! The service was meh and a little bit cold, but the food was fantastic!
Frankie’s is always quality
service a bit slow , food good , music too loud even outdoors.
Remarkably poor service (I had "Joe" according to my receipt).
I took my mother here tonight, and despite signs in front of the restaurant stating that people must have masks to enter, none of the servers were wearing masks (both when serving tables inside and outside).
Also, our server kept forgetting when I asked for more water and for extra napkins (he originally spilled water on us, in part due to there being no light at all for the outdoor tables/it was dark). He was rudely aggressive and pushy in asking us to place our orders (even though I was on the phone with a friend). But after we ordered, he practically vanished (except once, very late, to bring us our food and to spill our water on us). When we pointed out at the end that there was way too little light for the outdoor seating to operate at night, he didn't realize that we were alluding to his spillage faux pas and just replied "Yeah! No light!" with an awkward smile.
Extremely poor service. It's sad because I had been to this place at least twice before, both times were a couple of years ago, and the quality has gone so far downhill, it's unbelievable.
Frankie does some things very well: their own flatbread is very good, as was a very fresh tomato/peach salad with ricotta . The spicy lamb sausage was very tasty also. They fall off a bit in the timing of the entrees, bringing 2 of 4 first, a 3rd a bit later and a 4th very late. The Frankie burger was overcooked and the dumplings while tasty, were not tender. I love that they offer natural wines but a mixed cocktail was average. I think they could really tighten things up and be very good.
We had a large group. Service was slow and we had to sit at separate tables despite making a reservation but otherwise was great!
Came for the Kimchi Chicken (gluten free) - Highly recommend this quaint Australian spot with a menu sure to please! Lovely ambiance 🥂
Such a cute spot and have been wanting to go here so long! Food is excellent BUT the service was not at all what I expected. When we entered the staff was extremely rude and gave us an attitude as soon as we walked in. We had reservation for outside but noticed there was no one inside. We simply just asked if it was okay to move inside if possible since no one was inside. But the manager or whoever he was interrupted the waitress and said we’ll it does matter with an attitude and said they had reservations at 6:30 pm. Note it was 5:00 pm. Not trying to cause a disruption in the flow we said we would just stay outside. After that they kept pushing us to order. Even took away our menus after we ordered apps and were planning on ordering more! This guy was a piece of work. I would love to go back and take friends there but now I just don’t want to deal with the service issue if there’s a ton of other great food spots with 100% better service!
It was a good brunch. The Irish Coffee was a definate stand out of the whole meal. The food was alright! The space is very pretty. We sat inside as the humidity was out of control but htey do have a huge outdoor patio in fron that would be nicer for more fresh days.
Second time at Frankie in less than one week. This place has quickly become one of our go-tos in Jersey City. Great food and the staff is amazing.
I love Frankie. Highly recommend. Great food. Great wine selection. Great service!
Food was delicious- worth the trip from NYC for a relaxing brunch!
Cool vibe, friendly service!
A great spot with amazing food and service. Allows dogs and has a fantastic atmosphere. The Brocolli Salad on the dinner menu is a must!
Service was impeccable along with the seafood and craft cocktails.
Fantastic!! We picked this place randomly because we hadn’t been there before & we enjoy trying new places. What an experience! The host & servers were super nice & very knowledgeable about the cuisine. The atmosphere was adorable and tropical like. The food, exquisite! Never had anything like everything on the menu and loved every single bite! It’s a must go!
Vegan coconut green curry was delicious!! My friends also liked their meals and drinks. Get the hummus appetizer. Love the vibe at Frankie
Super fun, great vibes. Delicious drinks and food as always.
Great place , the owner is alway very nice as well. Cool vibe and great music. Staff is very chill and attentive, no complaints really.
Come for the happy hour, stay for the vibes! The wine and cocktail lists are both perfect for a modest end of the week celebration. Enjoy them with one of the happy hour priced flatbreads as the hummus is spectacular. We also enjoyed the Branzino which was topped with fresh aromatics and cooked perfectly. I love what they've done with their outdoor seating and would certainly return... perhaps for brunch!
Great venue for larger groups and super family friendly. Our server was attentive and kind. She even brought us a bowl of blueberries when one of the kids accidentally dropped their snacks. Thanks so much!
Everything was great, the food is really good, and the service as well, I will come back soon. The only issue I had was with my dessert, it took time to have it, like 20 minutes waiting.
exceptional. this is my new favorite place to dine in jersey city, bar none.
Spacious outdoor seating; incredible food; great service.
Very friendly and accommodating staff. Food was great. Love the vibe!
Great food, great value. Service could have been slightly more attentive but I'm being picky.
This place has a very relaxed/fun vibe. Drinks are not too pricey. The fried fish sandwich was delicious.
The place is beautiful. But we went on a Sunday night and they didn't have a lot of the starters and drinks we wanted. Also there system was down and we had to venmo them the money, which was odd. Also the side salad is just spinach and nothing else, I wouldn't call it a salad. And the waiter didn't make the situation any better.
The food was really tasty, the staff was very kind and attentive. I loved the ambience and vibes. I will definitely come back!
Fun spot and good vibes!
my friend and I saw a bunch of cute pictures of Frankie’s on Instagram and we were super curious about Australian cuisine, so we made a reservation for brunch last Saturday at 1:15pm.
the food was great all-around and I thought the pricing was very appropriate. the service was kind of slow, but it was clearly busy because #brunch is back and stronger than ever in Jersey City.
standouts: corn fritters!!! ($12, brunch entree)
echo beach ($14, spring cocktail menu)
ps. if you’ve never tried vegemite (and are curious), this is the spot to try it. even if you don’t enjoy it, their sourdough bread is top-notch.
Fresh Australian cuisine, friendly staff, and good vibes. What more can you want?
nice outdoor space. We've been there for dinner before but this was our first time for brunch. Glad it didn't disappoint.
We love Frankie's . The place has good vibes, simple brunch menu and love the outdoor seating. The staff is always nice.
Restaurant only saved reservation for five minutes. Don’t bother making a reservation because they won’t honor it. We showed up 7 minutes late for the reservation and the waiter, realizing he screwed up, said “oh we only hold reservations for- ten minutes?” Despite there being no indication of any such policy on open table or the restaurant website. We were then told we would be seated very shortly. However we were waiting for over an hour to finally be seated, and when we were, the waiter set up a table outside of the outside dining area (we were literally sitting at a makeshift table on the sidewalk in front of a different building. To add to this, the waiter mocked us, saying “I couldn’t handle the stares.” I’ve worked in restaurants for years and you don’t say that to a customer. This place is unprofessional and not worth the time or money. The food is decent, however, so if you are interested in the cuisine, I recommend takeout instead of dine-in.
great brunch place. The food and drinks are great. It is great for small groups
