Loved it! Definitely worth the $39 :)
we had a lovely time - it was quieter than expected and we had a great server who sent us a appetizer on the house! it was really amazing times...
I booked for my teenage son’s birthday dinner hoping for nice & somewhat upscale environment. But there was an event going on, and it was really loud. We were seated right in front of bunch of event crowds, and we couldn’t hear ourselves at all. Unfortunately we left without ordering and went to our usual sushi restaurant. I wish the restaurant let us know there was an event and checked on us it’s ok with us. At least they were totally fine we just left.
The food is all delicious, and Manny is a great chef and host. The four-course tasting menu at $39 is a great deal and all of the courses were very, very good. You have to come for Taco Tuesdays - four tacos for $12 with a free margarita! How can you beat that. I give Francisca's my highest recommendation.
A nice spot for food and drinks for family and friends. Nice neighborhood and the ambiance was really mellow and chill. Wasn’t too noisy and the music selection was well put together for the evening I went in for taco Tuesday along with the margaritas in the cute CapriFun!
This chef/owner is amazing and the food is like nothing you have ever tasted. The room needs a little work but it is well worth the trip no matter how far to have this food. Unbelievable!
The food is so delicious and Manny is such a warm and friendly host. Our family knows Venezuelan food as we lived there for a long time. He does us proud.
Don't be fooled by the low prices... the tasting menu is seriously awesome. GO. NOW.
Went to Francisca’s for my boyfriends birthday. It was amazing. Food was delicious. Service was wonderful. And the price you pay for this fixed dinner menu is SO much cheaper than most of the San Francisco restaurants that offer fixed dinner menus. Will definitely be coming back!
I'm in love! Every course of our four course tasting menu was a HOME RUN!
The meal started with a smoked salmon amuse bouche followed by a stinging nettle and truffle soup that was rich and flavorful. The second course was a lasagna with balsamic reduction sooo yummy. 3rd course was a pork rib over season vegetables. This was literally one of the best ribs I've ever had the meat was sooo juicy and tender and melted off the bone. Finally, dessert was a perfect hot lava cake brushed with 24k gold!! I cannot believe this entire meal was less than $40 per person. This is a fine dining experience without the fine dining price, I can not recommend it highly enough and will definitely be back!
Has become one of my favorite places to bring friends. I have also had very successful work team dinners. Food is always creative and delicious.
Amazing dinner - we really enjoyed the tasting menu and the wines. If you're looking for a delicious meal, just a bit off the beaten path and the ability to actually engage in conversation during your meal, this is an excellent choice!
They have now moved to $39 degustation menu which really is just a three course meal, there’s nothing exploratory in the set three dishes they’re serving. There’s no choice and it’s just three traditional classic Italian dishes. The Latin American Venezuelan aspect is lost unless you ask for it and pay extra on top. A cocktail is $15 and a bottle of water $6 so after you had all this up you very quickly reach $140 for a meal for two with good food but hardly anything to write home about. Service was austere. There are plenty of other places in SF where you can get much warmer service, much more choice, same quality for less than $140. This used to be our favourite but we are not going back anymore.
Excellent food, incredible value
As usual, amazing food, and great service.
I have been here many times and this place never disappoints. Manny and Katerina are always so gracious and welcoming, and the food is always on point. The wine list is packed with delicious and affordable options.
The place is great, except for the noise level. I would not go back.
The tasting menu is fantastic, every course is delicious and creative! This is my second time ordering the tasting menu with only two people. Last time I got it with a group of six people. Both time I felt so satisfied and full with the food . The service there is great too! I would love to go back to try more anytime!
Manny and Katalina are amazing. Great food. Great location. Great options.
A real find! I love to eat, and Francisca's is a perfect place to do it. I took advantage of the $35 price fixe, early bird on Friday. Each dish was better than the last. The entree was curry pulled pork on a bed of vegetables. Melt in your mouth and flavorful. Amazing attention to detail; each of the 4 types of vegetables was prepared differently. Make you reservation today. Enjoy a great meal tomorrow!
Manny puts his soul into the food! The flavors are unique and delicious and the wine pairing take everything to a whole new level! Amazing and memorable every time!
Disappointing: 5:30 Special -- the guests have to be there at exactly 5:30 to get the special ?
We ordered Tasting Menu meal -- 12 courses
1st 3-course -- salad and appetizers -- very good
2nd 3-course -- 3 kinds of raviolis -- very bland taste, not that good
3rd 3-course -- meat & fish -- very good
4th 3-course -- desserts -- average
The food was absolutely amazing. Creative, beautifully presented, and delicious.
All was very good, the only nit pick is that the kitchen does take quite a bit of time to get you your orders as they have a small kitchen.
Love this great restaurant in a cozy corner of the Mission. Fantastic food and service. I am a repeat customer!
Parking was a lot more difficult than last time i was there. We were seated at 6:45 and the noise level was quite low. By 7:30 the place crowded up and conversation became much more difficult for hearing impaired. If you are, as I am, come early. It is wonderful.
Very nice interior, a bit unexpected on a somewhat rundown block... Very well presented food creations with noticeably fresh ingredients. Nice wine selection and friendly service. One of my favorite places i have tried in a while.
Our overall experience was amazing. Food was beyond our expectations. We met the chef who brought one of the dish which made the night more special. Highly recommended and we’ll definitely go back
This is what every neighborhood restaurant should be: a pleasant place, clean, offering fine food which is inventive and reasonably priced, served by knowledgeable wait people.I arrived at 7 pm and the place was nearly empty. By 7:30, people began filtering in, and by 8, the place was jumping. The crowd was young-ish (25-45) and happy. The menu offered a variety of food, some traditional, some reresenting the chef's Spanish/Italian background. Excellent selection of wines, mostly European, at reasonable prices. I wish it was in my neighborhood.
My girlfriend and I were visiting San Francisco for the week and saw that Francisca’s had some great reviews. We decided to stop in and had a great experience. The food is fabulous. We ordered the plantain lasagna to share and it was delicious! Really flavorful and a perfect size to share. I had the kobe steak with yuca gnocchi and I loved it. It was some of the most tender steak I have ever had and would highly recommend it. My girlfriend was not so crazy about her chicken and truffle sausage arepa, but she is pretty picky. I thought it was good, but both the other dishes were better. All in all, it was a great dining experience by a fantastic chef! Would highly recommend
My friend and I had the BEST dining experience!! Manny and Katerina couldn't have been nicer, and the food is over the top!! We had the mussels with purple potatoes, cod with veggies, and steak with incredible sides. Manny was kind enough to send a dessert platter over, with 2 glasses of wine for us!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Thanks guys.
Really creative and delicious food. Owner chef and wife interact with diners in a way that adds to an already great dining experience.
Yum yum yum! Owners Manny and Katerina, chef and maitre d’, respectively, easily accommodated our large family gathering. Lovely ambiance, nice wine list, attentive service and delicious food. Our risotto was buttery, spicy heaven, and the fresh salad was large enough for a main course.
The service was warm, attentive, & knowledgeable. The food was interestingly innovative. The sorrel soup was outstanding.
Francisca's is an upscale and delicious hidden gem! We took advantage of their four course happy hour deal, along with a reasonably priced wine pairing. The courses were filling, beautifully plated, and tasty-- the standout dish was a homemade pasta with lobster and uni. During our meal the chef stopped by our table to explain where the ingredients were sourced from.
Great place. The taste is something special. My favorite place in SF.
This place is a hidden treasure. Each course has heart and soul. They are perfect combination of texture, flavor & colors... especially the flavor, has a brighter note than traditional Italian dishes, rich and refreshing at the same time.
Parking was surprisingly easy. Food was quite good and interesting. Staff was pleasant, quick and efficient.
I had dinner there with my siblings and our mother. We were welcomed by the chef/owner who told us about the menu, answered questions, took our order, described our food as it was served and ensured our evening was perfect. We all loved it!
