Halasz, who was raised in the South of France amidst the bounty of simple and soulful cuisine draws inspiration from his birthplace. FRANCINE is a spirited and loving homage to days spent in the sun and amongst gatherings around beautiful meals hosted by his mother Francine Halasz. Everything on my mother’s table was fresh, seasonal, and full of flavor, and that is exactly what FRANCINE will offer our guests.

Absolutely fantastic. It was a special occasion and other than the seating hostess wishing me happy birthday there was nothing else. Was disappointed. But would definitely go back. Just wonderful!
Great drinks, food and service !!! See you soon.
Service was adequate at best. Couldn’t understand a word our waiter said due to the noise and his thick French accent. (No issues with the accent, if we could’ve been able to hear him.) The food was overpriced, under cooked, under seasoned, and mediocre at best. How the hell do you have a French restaurant and refused to serve butter or cream?. I’m never coming back to Francine. Ever.
Three of four of us had really good meals, the fourth was good. The waiter tried to push us to a $135 bottle of wine. I wonder when was the last time he spent that much on a bottle of wine? After we turned down his suggestion and picked something for $70, not much on the list lower than that, his attitude changed and he lost interest in serving our table.
The place was extremely noisy. We had trouble communicating across the table.
Food and service was impeccable! I enjoyed the drinks as well!
Great ambiance and decor.
I had a horrendous experience here. Had a reservation at 7:30 and didn’t get seated for over an hour. We stood at the bar for an hour as a group of seven.
multiple visits and continuing to experience great food and love oof the ambience. slow service however. attentive when available, but just too slow. I got the feeling the wait staff was short- handed.
The table was sticky. They should use their hand to touch the surface to ensure the table is clean.
Food delicious, Forgot wine but bought from their wine shop at fair price and good selections. Great for special occasions. Waiter good but somewhat rude to my wife as we waited what seemed a long time from last main course to dessert and one guest needed to go home simply ask when it would be served.
The tuna tartare was the best that I ever had. Can't wait to have it again.
Over priced mediocre food. Very disappointing. We won’t be back.
I love this place. Great food and drinks. The grilled octopus is amazing
Our server was not on top of things from the beginning. It took too long between apps, entrees and desserts. Our check was presented to us very quick and the music in the building went to extremely high level...9:00pm closing time on a Sunday! We could not even hear ourselves talk. Not nice! This place is fine dining not a bar.
Francines has very good food and the wine was very expensive $$$$ the ambiance was very loud and the service was ok, our water glass went empty many times and it took a long time to refilled.
Food was amazing. Was visiting from out of state. Are here twice. Took over 10 minutes after being seated to be greeted by our waiter or be offered water. After food was brought to use, staff did a poor job checking in on us. I felt ignored. That was the only bummer. Ambiance amazing and food superb.
Closing anniversary brunch.
Very enjoyable outside. Good attention to detail.
We really enjoyed our brunch at Francine. My husband had the steak tartare and I had the salade Nicoise made with Ahi tuna. Both were excellent. We shared a side of broccolini, which was amazing. We appreciated the bottled water which was served without ice, as it is served in France. The lavender plants lining the patio gave a nice ambience. We had a reservation for 11:30, and by the time we were done some of the people were in the sun, as the pergola wasn’t very effective.
I thought it was odd and disappointing that in a French style restaurant that bread wasn’t brought to the table automatically. I had to ask for some, and was disappointed that it was dry and more like breakfast toast rather than pieces of a traditional baguette.
Our wait staff was great
Everything from the atmosphere and service to the food itself was absolutely wonderful. We loved it and will definitely be back.
This was our first time at this restaurant. We had hi hopes. There seemed to be a lot of staff, but when we placed our order, after 45 minutes we still didn't receive it and that was just the apps. We had to ask where they were and there were a lot of excuses. We think the server forgot to put in the order. We had only ordered olives and artichoke so not completed dishes. It finally came and the rest of the meal. The food was very good but again the service very POOR.
We enjoyed the entire time! Our server was wonderful, and answered all questions! Atmosphere was very nice and upbeat, and we will definitely go back again!
My favorite restaurant in town and the best happy hour menu ever
food was very lite and fresh, we all enjoyed our lunch. Great champagne and wine options too.
The food was amazing and the service was incredible. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. Ahi tartare was one of my favorites.
Incredible food and atmosphere
Fantastic addition to the Phoenix feed scene! Great service, fantastic atmosphere.
We went for my Birthday and the food was good but the service was absolutely terrible. We waited a hour before getting any appetizers. He forgot drinks and never checked on us. We flagged down another server to place our order for dinner because ours was nowhere to be found. We were there for over two hours.
dreadful service we waited ages for our server and even longer for the wine. My steak came raw, we sent it back it was even worse the second time, they kindly took it off the check and sent us 3 complimentary deserts. Unfortunately we won't return, shame it was our first meal out since last March due to covid
We were very excited to try Francine after seeing other reviews and looking in the window of the restaurant and seeing the ambiance. We had a great waiter, very passionate and a great help selecting a nice Bordeaux for dinner. The ambiance is amazing. Unfortunately the food did not match the wine and ambiance. We decided to try several small plate items and one pasta. So giving credit where it is due -- the grilled Octopus was amazing and we would highly recommend. We were disappointed with the burrata/peas... without oil/vinegar or other topping -- it fell quite shy in flavor. We were excited about the trying their beef carpaccio -- but found that the truffle was so strong that it overtook all of the flavors and honestly was difficult to eat (and we love truffle). Francine doesn't use butter... and it was definately apparent in the mashed potatoes that looked more like mashed squash and were very dense and lacking in typical mashed potato flavor...one bite and we were done. Finally -- we love cacio y pepe pasta and their version one-upped it with adding bone marrow... but the pasta came swimming in oil. The flavor was ok but not one that left me wanting to keep eating. Other reviewers were much more complementary concerning the food quality... maybe it was just a bad day in the kitchen... or maybe our palate is not not one for Francine.
What a disappointment!
The terrace is ON the valet parking with an incessant and noisy traffic. The tables for 2 people are minuscule and the seats uncomfortable.
We selected that restaurant because of the attractive menu on their website having already made our selection prior to reservations.
Bad luck! The menu on their website and the menu the server gave us were totally different! More importantly, the common items had the prices totally different...
Before making our reservation via OpenTable, we selected the salt crusted whole branzino at $59 for two with 2 free side dishes (as specified on their website dinner menu). Well, on the menu at the restaurant, the price was $95 without any side dish!
We asked to speak to the manager, Gilles, who told us that the website menu was incorrect and that the restaurant menu was the only correct one! No apologies, no resolution, instead he just suggested us to go elsewhere for dinner!
Total lack of customer service and finesse!
My friend ordered the mussels and I selected the ahi tuna tartar. There were 9 (nine!) mussels in the plate and my tuna tartar was a paste of tuna (instead of chopped tuna) on a bed of another paste of avocado! Inedible!
A total disaster: I agree Zinqué next door is immensely better and caters to its clientele.
Service was awful, the food was really terrible and it was overpriced. My salad was made with iceberg lettuce and didn’t have half the ingredients it was supposed to have on it. The hamburger was overdone and dry. Asked for medium rare and it was well done.
We will never go back.
Wonderful food and atmosphere. Server had too many tables but very nice.
We had a reservation here this week. I was really looking forward to this newer restaurant on our Spring Break . I could tell our server was annoyed with us bringing our three well behaved children in. I’m not sure why considering they all ordered steaks and didn’t even ask for a children’s menu. Food was ok but not worth the price it was. The male server handed us our bill and after bringing back the receipt he put it down on our table without saying anything and walked away. No, “thank you for coming in” or “How was everything” or “ Have a good evening” very disappointed with the service. I had to keep going up to the bar to ask for extra plates and silverware. The guys behind the bar were great. Wouldn’t go back!
The whole experience was exceptional. Staff was professional and courteous. Great restaurant.
It is an expensive restaurant, which is to be expected for Scottsdale. The service was beyond my expectations. The food was delightful. I had Ahi Tartar which was divine.
The dessert selection was minimal. I ordered Chocolate Pot de Creme which was fine.
The wine is marked up excessively - I paid $85 for a $26 bottle of Illahe Estate Pinot Noir 2019, Willamette Valley, Oregon.
Easter dinner with longtime friends.
As a whole, Easter brunch was enjoyable; however the lack of au jus for the Shaved Beef Tenderloin Sandwich was unfortunate and the Croque Madame was way too heavy on the bread and way too light on the ham!
