Fraiche (French for Fresh) is a fresh take on culinary fusion with inspiration from multiple cultures (including French, Cajun/Southern American, and Caribbean). This is also a fresh take on the historic architecture of the venue, which was once a theater.

Fraiche is designed to be a non-pretentious culinary destination with a nod to upscale dining without the stuffiness. The menu is constructed in a way that takes approachable and recognizable food and elevates it, with no flavor left behind!

Since the beginning of time, food has brought people together and that is our ultimate goal with this concept.

What a fantastic spot! Reservations are definitely key because this cozy venue fills up fast, and a tip: if you book through OpenTable, the reservation fee isn't applicable to your bill. The music selection was excellent, with a great mix of hip-hop and R&B that had guests singing and bopping along. I loved that you could choose whether or not to participate in the birthday singing at your table. Now, let's talk about the food – it was absolutely delicious! Every bite was savored, especially the meatballs, gumbo, and cornbread which really hit the spot. And the strawberry cheesecake with that crème brûlée sugar crust? Simply delightful! Even the decor was a hit, and the birthday message on the menu was a thoughtful touch. My old fashioned was perfectly strong and flavorful, and other patrons' empty glasses were a testament to the drinks here.

Drove from NJ Specifically to dine here for my bday as I’m a huge fan of Mr. Make it happen YouTube. Let’s start with the positives : Cool vibe restaurant , playlist was a throwback r&b hits loved that , waitress was sweet, the chef (I assume) came out and greeted the guests I always appreciate that 💕 now let’s get into the food : I was highly disappointed had the bay noodles and salmon although well seasoned the salmon was so dry . My husband got the fried fish again well seasoned but super dry and the rice beneath was cold with the veggies . The cornbread was moist and flavorful but overall was underwhelmed with the meal as a whole. I had very high expectations going in and was excited for weeks to finally get to try the food and was left looking for some other spot to eat .

The food was beyond exceptional, the vibe was so amazing, and the staff from the ladies who sat us, to the guy who welcomed us and got us settled, to our phenomenal server Ornamente (sorry for the misspelling)) we were in heaven. We left feeling like we just found a new family in DC. I am from California, but I have added Fraiche as my top 3 restaurants in DC. And next time I’m in DC, Fraiche will be my first stop!!!!

I was in town for a Convention and was so excited to try this restaurant. I am a fan of MMIH and often use his recipes. Welllll I was impressed! The ox tail meatballs, sticky ribs, charbroiled oysters and Cesar salad for starters—-absolutely delish! For my entree I had the Bourbon Street risotto, also an amazing dish. I will definitely return!

Our experience for the first time was amazing. Food was stellar, service was very good, and the drinks list was everything! So happy we had the opportunity to try “Matt ‘Mr. Make It Happen Price’s” restaurant and it lived up to and exceeded my expectations! We will definitely come back.

Had a wonderful experience. Met the chef who was warm and welcoming. Food came out quick and was amazing. My favorite was the Golden Sage drink and the bread pudding!!

My daughter celebrated her 17th birthday here and she and her friends absolutely loved their experience. They got to choose where they wanted to sit, enjoyed their cuisines and couldn’t stop talking about the ambience even in the restrooms. They are planing their next dining experience….

The SheCrab was amazing. I absolutely loved it. I was there for my convention so it was busy and the service was poor. I was disappointed.
