About FoxGardin Kitchen & Ale
After years of working Downtown Indianapolis, business partners Jake Burgess and Toby Shelton decided to "Come Home" and open an establishment that exuded the style of service and quality of food they had become accustomed to. FoxGardin is tucked away on quaint Main Street in Fortville. Minutes to Geist, Fishers, Kliptch Music Center, and I-69, FoxGardin Kitchen & Ale is a perfect spot to sneak away to, while still being close to everything! FoxGardin Kitchen & Ale is a 21 and over establishment.

FoxGardin Kitchen & Ale Ratings and Reviews
Unfortunately we weren't able to experience FoxGardin b/c they were way overbooked--apparently a glitch with Open Table?? There wasn't even a seat at the bar. My hope was to show off the whiskey bar to my date but it was closed for a private event. We were told to just grab a drink and they would eventually find a place for us to sit but we opted to go elsewhere due to the noise level and lack of seating.
I had been here once a few months ago and sat upstairs. When I made reservations for the 6 of us I thought we would be sitting upstairs again but found we were stuck back by the kitchen where it was loud, cold and drafty. They didn’t get the experience I was wishing for in their drive from Carmel but the food was good.
Great food and alas, someone with ambient lighting. My husband and I love to dine at local restaurants and often we are blasted with 800 watt florescent fixtures suitable for surgery. This small gem had very nice lighting, and an authentic feeling decor. The service was very good, the food was presented in a simple and pleasing way and delicious, which we love. We both enjoyed our entree's and left full and happy.
Once again FoxGardin rewarded me for venturing to Fortville. My friend who is always extolling the virtues of downtown living (especially access to great restaurants) was playing Uber driver for his Fishers-based parents, so FoxGardin was a more viable destination than Mass Ave or Fountain Square. He loved the menu and we picked an exceptional night to dine outside. After a crab cake appetizer, the selections for the three of us ranged from a filet to a meatloaf sandwich. As my buddy remarked, "Where else can you get a Bulleitt Manhattan and meatloaf?" It seemed like we forced this get together when my friend's wife was in Boston, but in retrospect it just gives us another reason to go back and let her experience my favorite destination restaurant in Indiana.
We went to FoxGardin for the first time last Saturday. We loved it! What a small, unique place. The service was great, our server was extremely friendly. The only issue I had was that I'm vegetarian and there wasn't any vegetarian options on the menu but luckily I eat fish. I would definitely recommend this restaurant unless you eat no meat and no fish at all.
This was my second time and to be honest the first time was good but this time was FANTASTIC! My husband and I were celebrating our 6 year Anniversary and did not want to drive to down town Indianapolis to find great quality food. He had never been here and also said he would enjoy going back soon! The menu had great options, our server was very knowledgeable and friendly & the desert was amazing! The only things I can even say could change a bit would be more space since we were in a smaller room with a party of 8-10 people next to us it was very loud. We will be returning customers for sure though!
We have been here several times. Sat on the covered porch for the first time and it was quite comfortable. The service was great. Their were several people caring for us and they did so very professionally and promptly. The cafeteria chips were amazing as always and we enjoyed the tenderloin sandwich, hamburger and meatloaf!
If you love Indiana breaded tenderloins - you are going to LOVE this place! The tenderloins are the best, and I recommend getting their homemade, spiral sliced chips -- amazing! The staff & service are great. We come here about 1x per month - have never been disappointed - always a great experience.
VERY RUSTIC. HAS A DOWNTOWN VIBE IN A SMALL TOWN LOCALE. THE SERVICE WAS TOP NOTCH AND VERY ACCOMADATING. WE SAT ON THE PATIO ON THE FIRST LEVEL AND IT WAS WARM, THERE IS A BALCONY SEATING AND AT NIGHT IT CAN GET COLD, SO I SUGGEST A COVERUP. THE FOOD IS SO FRESH, MADE DAILY AND THEY KNOW THEIR STUFF. I WOULD GO BACK AGAIN.
