Foxfire at The Stone Barn
Brunch and Dinner offer ala carte selections from a menu utilizing produce from local farm such as Nunamaker Farms, Carlisle Produce, Swallow Hill Farm, Marlboro Mushrooms, Mother Earth Mushrooms, and many others, even from our own gardens right here on the farm!
The Stone Barn is BYOB with no corkage fee, so you are welcome to bring any alcoholic beverage to enjoy with your meal. We are happy to provide you with glassware and mixers, so be sure to ask your server about whatever you might need!
A very charming restaurant set in an updated stone barn. There are both indoor and outdoor areas to dine. We ate indoors as this was our first time. There are beautiful wood beam ceilings and a large working fireplace that makes the large room very cozy. I started with the mushroom chowder (made from local mushrooms of course) and it was delicious. My husband tried the chicken wings which were cooked whole in a slightly sweet sauce - he loved them! For dinner I had the butternut squash ravioli. The squash was cooked perfectly and the ravioli in a cream sauce was very good. My husband tried the honey fig roasted chicken, which he thoroughly enjoyed as well. We will be back - creative menu (the mulled cider was a perfect fall drink). It is a BYOB so plan ahead if you want wine with your meal.
Renee was an excellent waitress.
Unfortunately my husband had to send his plate back. The chicken and waffles was not good.
Live music was such a nice touch to a great meal!
all our requests were ignored (well done vs rare steak) some meals were quite undercook, and the desert was very stale, felt like several days old.
most of the safety precautions listed in the website (opentable link for foxfire) were not followed.
Beautiful outdoor setting, exceptional service, good food at very reasonable prices, and nice, mellow live music. Highly recommend!
Delicious food, excellent service and a perfect ambience. We can’t wait to come back over and over again!
Great food. Friendly and attentive staff. Great value for quality and quantity of food. Nice atmosphere. Love that it is BYOB .
Charming place on a quiet country road. Very special.
Our dinner was amazing!!! The stuffed peppers were to die for! The atmosphere was great, the service was phenomenal! We are definitely going back and would absolutely recommend it to anyone!
We enjoyed our Sunday brunch at Foxfire. Our party of four had a wonderful time. The blueberry muffins, omelettes and French toast were delicious. The patio was lovely and the music was an added treat. We will definitely go back.
We really just stumbled upon this spot looking for a place we could reserve on OpenTable for dinner in the Kennet area. So glad that we did! We absolutely loved our visit. The venue itself is adorable. Makes for a great romantic date. The food was delicious, and we loved that it was farm to table. We got the duck confit tacos and steak frittes, both of which we enjoyed. The service was outstanding as well. Can't wait to come back and try more things from the menu.
Outdoor area is gorgeous. Food is generally good but service was painfully slow. Worst part was we ordered gluten free for my mother-in-law, questioned the food when it arrived because her order didn’t look any different from my brother’s even though hers was supposed to be GF, but we were assured it was GF. Then of course she was painfully ill a couple hours later. So overall good, but if you have a food allergy be REALLY CAREFUL if dining here.
We had a lovely dinner outside on the covered patio. Foxfire is a perfect location in Kennett Square, off the beaten path. I would highly recommend the outside patio for both a romantic dinner or a nice night out. Our party of 10 was pleased with our food and our service. Their menu clearly labeled gluten free options too. My only small complaint is that the live music, while lovely, did prevent us from being able to hear what the other end of our table was saying.
The food was very good and unique and service was fast and pleasant. The outside dining is wonderful
Our server Tiffany was great! The food was amazing and the outdoor patio made everything that much better!
We haven't been here for years, last time was a brunch, decided last minute to celebrate our anniversary there. Sat outside on the deck, lovely night. We had the Venison and Crabcakes, both delicious, we finished off with dessert. Staff were very attentive, food was great.
Beautiful historic stone barn setting with outside dining on a covered patio. Breakfast was good, but next time I'll get the pancakes. Crabby eggs Benedict was too far out on a limb for my breakfast taste. Service was gret.
Great atmosphere outside! Yummy food, excellent service! The live music on a Friday night was a nice touch!
Excellent atmosphere, live music, great brunch food and outstanding service. Would highly recommend!
Amazing atmosphere, super friendly service. Will be thinking about the blueberry muffin for a long time!
Decent food, but painfully slow service. Nice ambiance.
The patio at Foxfire was the perfect place to dine on a warm summer evening. Tables were well spaced. Charcuterie board was abundant and the Rose was chilled. What more could we ask for. Lovely meal.
Inconsistent. The green fried tomatoes and peaches is a definite skip! Very bland and cold. All 3 of us in our party had the same opinion. The crabcakes had shell and literally came with 3 vegetables…not a scoop or side but 3 distinct slivers of bell peppers. The venison did not have any vegetables on the plate…maybe if you eat venison then vegetables are not an automatic?? The plate of chicken caprese was well enjoyed and had an actual serving of vegetables on the plate.
Traveled over an hour to try it because we had plans at Longwood and couldn’t
get into Catherine’s. We were sat immediately just before 6:30 and given water and menus. Right after, a party of ten came in. Before they were all even finished sitting down, they had 2 wine buckets and 2 baskets of bread in front of them neither of which we were given. We were basically ignored for 10-15 minutes. When our server came over, we ordered everything and asked for bread after watching EVERY over table after us get a basket. We were told she was waiting for fresh bread and then watched 5 more tables get bread. It seems small but we were starving and pretty sick of being ignored. After 10 more minutes, now well after 7pm, my husband got up and had to stop her before walking by us again to ask for bread. The bread comes and she again tells us that she was waiting for the fresh bread-again, I’ve been in the business for years so just tell us you are overwhelmed and forgot, no need to lie. The food was ok, we got the pecan berry salad, cheese plate, burrata salad, mushroom soup (which was a little thin compared to others in the area) for appetizers. My dinner dates each got the Delmonico which was pretty fatty and I got the bruschetta pasta which was fine. The spot is very beautiful and it is a shame that the service and food aren’t worth a return. I believe if they had a manager walking around trying to keep guests happy, they would have more success. The table behind us was grumbling that their dessert took longer than their entree so it wasn’t just us.
Service and food were amazing we will definitely be back again!
What a gem! Lovely ambiance and such a sweet waiter who took the time to ask and answer questions we had about the menu. The covered patio was beautiful. The food was delicious and we loved that it was sourced from local farms. We’ll be back!
Food and atmosphere was great! Would highly recommend.
Good was great, waitress was friendly and very attentive. 1st visit back in a while and we very much enjoyed the evening
The pictures on the website are a bit deceptive as far as the ambiance. There are tennis courts that are in disarray, an empty swimming pool in view. Even thou we were outside on a nice day it was a bit dark. The waitresses were all very friendly but not the most attentive. We asked for lemon for the water 4 times before receiving it, the sausage side dish that was ordered had to be asked for 3 times and then was brought out hot and delicious but the meal was basically over. The food that was ordered was delicious I will say. Everyone liked their meal and we were 8 people. I realize that with Covid help may be hard to come by but there were so few tables to serve that the service should have been way better
The outdoor dining on the patio was lovely. The live music was too loud and the sound system was very poor. The service was poor as indicted by multiple requests that the server did not fulfill including a long delay in receiving the check after requested. The NY strip steak was tough and no steak knife was provided. This negative review is in sharp contrast to our experience on previous occasions.
The ambiance and food is excellent. They have a nice selection of foods for the Sunday Brunch (even though I do miss the buffet). Service was a bit slow but it could have been they were busy with outdoor tables. We sat indoors. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.
A great place for a celebratory dinner or just a date night!
Lovely outdoor seating with distance between tables. Friendly staff. I forgot my tasty venison loin “doggie bag.”
Excellent food and service. Love the quiet, relaxed atmosphere, and the area is beautiful. Highly recommended!
Lady singer was really awful. Usually the guy who sings is amazing. Not trying to be rude but it made it very uncomfortable
We really enjoyed our night! Ambience was great on the outside patio. Live music was nice too. Service was terrific and the food was excellent!! The hostess, Tina took time to share with us history of the barn. We will definitely be back!
