   Food was below par for pub food. Beer wasn’t cold and someone should replace the keg. Waitress was nice, super busy. Didn’t bring salad and when reminded nothing ever came but not servers fault. She was over run with tables. I do t mind music but at 12 pm in after noon was so loud couldn’t even talk with the other guests.

   Our only issues with dinner was that they didn't have our reservation for four when we kept on getting email updates about the reservation we booked online. We had reserved to dine inside but because the reservation never made it to the hostess we had to sit outside, luckily the rain had finished for the day. The second issue was that the salmon salad tasted nothing like it was meant to taste like as it was drenched in honey. One of us did not eat that night as getting someone's attention in this busy and bustling restaurant was quite difficult. We will continue coming here as one of our sons loves the atmosphere. The staff was great. They didn't charge us for the honey salad since only two bites went into it anyway. I suggest next time someone is there and orders the salmon salad to ask for a reduction in honey. They should be putting that under the desserts menu.

   Great spot for a pre theatre lunch! Server was excellent however our pasta was subbed with a different noodle without advising us …spaghetti was disappointing when we ordered pappardelle…still tasted good!

   Short version: long waits, subpar food, high prices The server we had was very nice and apologetic for the long wait for drinks and food. When the food did finally come out, it was subpar with like 5 fries on each of our plates. This food is way below average for the prices the Fox is charging. When you pay 20 dollars for an entree you shouldnt expect to go home hungry or to see a small smushed burger on the plate. I had ordered an upgrade of yam fries and the kitchen did not even provide them. The server was very attentive and noticed with out any mention from us that this was missing from our order and made sure it was brought out as soon as possible. The servers are the only thing good about this place.

    you could turn the music volume down a bit so conversation with my date is a bit easier. Then back up if the date is not going so well.

    We waited about 45 minutes for our order then asked the manager to check on our order. It came out not too long after he checked but they brought me the wrong meal and the server claimed it was what I ordered. The waitress who took the order offered to reorder the correct item but time was of the essence and my daughter already had her meal. Both meals were cold and the whipping cream on my daughter’s waffle was dissolving. They didn’t charge for most of my meal and offered free dessert but we were not in the mood for dessert. The music was really loud!

    Good was great, and service was too. We sat outside, and this was the only negative part. The music was very loud so it was difficult to have a conversation at our table of four, and two of the party had to shimmy around a plant to get in and out of their seats which were back with back with the next table. I might go again and sit inside, but I suspect it is just as loud in there.

    The music was loud when we arrived at 7pm and as the place was half empty they greatly increased the volume of the music and it was impossible to have a conversation when we left around 9pm. It’s a pub with whole bunch of televisions, there was no need to have the music that loud. Service was good, but extremely slow getting food and drinks. I would skip this place.

    The food was very tasty and fish and chips were a bargain at that price. The booming music made conversation difficult and one of us had to ask the host to turn it down so we could talk. Servers were all polite and quick to tend to our needs but the food was slow in coming.

    The server we had our previous visit came to our table and made sure we were being served….helped our current server , who was busy, by bringing a bottle of wine and glasses we requested. Great Service Jay……we are Theatre goers and find your restaurant meets our needs. We now recommend it to other friends before Theatre.

    Table wasn’t ready. Host only kept asking if we wanted to combine other tables together. There was an event which was incredibly noisy. We couldn’t even talk. When asked to change our table at least, we were always refused. Our server couldn’t even hear us when we were ordering. Overall we were disappointed and had to leave early.

    The food and service were fine but the music was so loud we were almost forced to lip read. The waitress acknowledged the problem but could do nothing. We’ve dined there before without issue but last night was very disappointing.

    *also called The Fox and Fiddle* Very disappointed to say the least... Thought we were coming for a nice Father's Day meal... mediocre food at best and horrible service. Took 30 minutes for anyone to ask if we'd be waited on...patio wasn't even full and neither was the restaurant inside. Another 20+ minutes before our drinks came (our appetizer came and we finished it before our drinks arrived). Waitress was extremely confused about what menu/food we could actually order... 1 hour and 30 minutes passed. Still no food. Other tables that came 30-40 minutes after we did were finished with their meals and leaving. We asked to see the manager and within 5 minutes our food came out. Manager wanted to bring us free dessert or a free round of drinks but at that point we were just ready to leave. I would not recommend and was driven to writing my worst review ever...

    We have been to the Fox on John several times, always as a prelude to a Mirvish show. The food and service are always good. We never have to worry about being finished in good time. On this occasion, our only “complaint” is that the music level was higher than we remember on previous occasions, making conversation a little difficult at times.

    This restaurant was probably the best choice we could have made for brunch. The mimosa tower was affordable and well worth it! With a view of the CN tower from the outdoor dining area amazing food and comfortable seating, you can’t go wrong!

    Amazing food and great service! We enjoyed our time here. Music was really fun, although a bit too loud for indoors for chatting and chit-chat. Definitely will come back to try other menu items.

    I enjoyed this meal and the servers were excellent. My biggest gripe would be the loud unpleasant music that blared everywhere, even on the patio where I went to escape the loud music indoors.

    Even though we had an Open Table reservation, the restaurant could not find it. I had replied to a reminder from Fox on John a few days earlier that we would be there. When my sister showed up, the staff told her our reservation was at another place further south which it wasn't so she had to walk a long distance and then back.

    Server didn’t really even acknowledge use and the food was mediocre at best unfortunately. I have served at many restaurants and hate giving bad reviews but this was not good. The “frose” was the best part.

    We got passed through 5 different servers. Drinks were very slow. Food came up fast but we didn’t have any drinks to go with it. Food was run of the mill and way over priced. Especially the Shepard’s pie. IF you want any vegetables with your meal you better order a salad. Very noisy both from the construction on the street and the restaurant’s music which drowns out all conversation with its heavy bass. I won’t be going back.

    We couldn't locate the restaurant as it is Fox & Fiddle and we were looking for Fox on John. The address number does not show outside and it only says Fox on John on a small sign outside, so we were late for our booking and had to order and eat quickly because we were booked at the theatre. We were a party of 8 but they sat us at two different tables of 6 and 2 right near the washrooms.

    The music was way too loud for a Sunday brunch time….we couldn’t even have a conversation. we had too send back part of our order as it wasn’t right. the Waitress was very friendly but needed to pay more attention too what we ordered.

    Too expensive for food that wasn't great, our server was really friendly but never checked on us. We waited about 30 mins for a water refill. We were on the patio but it did not have an umbrella so it's was extremely hot.
