We never did get to eat here. When we arrived, I was told that someone called out, that they overbooked, and that there would be at least a 90 minute wait for a table. The gentleman at the front just shrugged when I asked why they were still talking reservations that they couldn't honor.
Rebecca was my server and she was great. Tell Rebecca she is one of the best!!
We made a reservation for a birthday for 7pm however once we arrived it took an 1hr and 10 minutes to be seated due to limited space even though reservation times online were open. Once being seated our group proceeded to order drinks. The drinks arrived to the table and all of them tasted weird and watered down. Our group ordered Jack Daniels and lemonade however there was no Jack inside the drinks. We were told after ordering that they were out of many liquors due to their truck not arriving. That is something we should have been made aware of prior to ordering. We proceeded to try to still patronize and order something else with products that they “did” have in stock however the server came back after making us wait another 15 mins to tell us they were out of those products as well. Long story short we paid for the horrible drinks we did have and left. We never were even asked what did we want to order for food. This was my first and last time here.
The chipotle Philly was delicious! Also, both the chicken and regular sliders were good and the fries were quite delicious and plentiful.
That was the worst experience I’ve had going out to dinner in years. 7:30pm reservation, we weren’t able to order until 8:30pm because the waitress said the manager wouldn’t let her put in orders until the kitchen was less busy. Half our table got their food by 9:30pm and the rest got theirs when we were almost finished eating. We were told the Manager would come by to bring the last persons food and he did, but just handed us the food and said ‘here’. No apologies or anything. The place was dirty, food on floor and no tables were bussed. I watched them bring one couple back to be seated and there were no clean tables available. Wish I would have taken a picture. I will not go back.
It was a good time.
In all honesty I booked at F&H due to being late to get reservations for Valentines Day so my selection was very narrow with a 7:00 time slot. The food was fine (I like bar food) and it turned out to be a casual outing. Actually I didn’t need reservations as they weren’t that busy. They must have had help issues because it took them a while to get our order out to us and basically forgot about the appetizer we ordered. The waitress kept apologizing for the slow service. It’s still a good “go to” for casual dining and sports events.
They didn’t save a table for our reservation, but were able to squeeze us in. Didn’t realize reservation was during the UNC vs Duke game. Good job getting us a table, waiter service was ok and waited over an hour for food.
There were hardly any customers in the business but we were being rushed. We lingered to order a drink after the meal but the waitress ignored us while she chatted with the bartender.
I was celebrating my birthday with my friends and had an awesome time! We were a larger group and the server was amazing, patient, and very attentive to us and our needs. It was my first time coming to Fox and Hound after hearing such good things about this place & I can say that I definitely will be coming back!
Manager on duty seemed annoyed that he had to changed the TV to the hockey game which was the only reason we came and spent over $100.00. He did not say anything, just his demeanor.
If you don't accept reservations on fight nights, why would your website allow you to? I would recommend disabling the feature or adding a disclaimer somewhere on the website. The food selection was small...also everything seemed to be out of the freezer section, to the microwave, to your table. The service was also poor, but I guess that was expected with overworked employees and a packed house. I've never written a review like this, I just don't patronage the establishment...but the experience was so bad, here I am.
Food was not good and service was mediocre.
Great casual dining restaurant with friends. Good location in North Hills.
Great place to watch Ravens football! Atmosphere was very fun.
System down so all orders etc were manual then the Direct TV went out. All this caused level to be below usual standard but pub food still very good.
The food was typical bar food, it was pretty good. My biggest problem was that it took 3 people to figure out what to do with us because we had a reservation. Don't waste your time reserving. Then service was spotty, we went to play Keno and as soon as we ate, our server pretty much forgot about us unless we flagged her down for a drink, and she never bothered to ask if anyone else wanted one while she was at the table, so we'd have to ask one by one if we didn't notice she was there.
Our $17 boneless wings tasted and looked exactly like Tyson chicken nuggets with sauce poured over them. It was like they ran out of boneless wings and instead of just saying they were out of it tried passing it off with Tyson nuggets.
Waited for an hour and a half, never got served. They weren't even that busy!
Server was great, very friendly and welcoming. Food was just okay, not bad, but enjoyed it enough for a casual date with my husband. We did dinner and a movie that evening so it helped that the restaurant was right next to the theater.
The food was ok. They have changed their menu some and only offer "bar foods" of sorts. For drinking/socializing, it's awesome. For larger parties, beware. For a table of 20 on Game 7 of the Stanley Cup, we were given 1 waitress who only took 2-3 drink orders at a time. We caught her several times sitting down on her phone or chatting with coworkers while we waiting for food and drinks...
This was for a business lunch at noon before Memorial Day, so only a few people were in the restaurant. Food is pretty typical pub fare. I had a chicken salad and the french onion soup. Both were good. My colleague had a sandwich which was just OK. The service was attentive (especially since there were only a few in the restaurant). We were there to watch a baseball game which was on at lunch time so we really didn't care too much about the typical things you care about when you go out to eat. I imagine it is a good place when there are a lot of people there watching a game, etc.
A Good chill spot for a date night, especially if your spouse is into sports
Easter lunch
Just ok. Can’t add anything good or bad. Tried it doubt I’d try again.
It is a great bar! Best place in Raleigh to hang out with friends or family and watch sports!
Great sports bar and lots of TV's to watch the game on! The food was amazing and the service was awesome! I will definitely be going back the next time I visit Raleigh!!!
This restaurant was once our favorite place to eat nachos. We've had several bad experiences here with incorrect orders, cold food, slow service, etc.
After many months, decided to give it another try on Monday. Most all of our food was not eaten due to a variety of reasons including poor taste, food that was overcooked and food that was not as ordered. I will not be back. There are so many wonderful restuarants in the same shopping area that I wouldn't spend money here again.
We met up for a quick bite after a long week of work. The food was good, the service was great. The restaurant was clean. I would recommend this restaurant to others. The price was decent.
Even though we didn't need a reservation because it was not crowded, we were seated in a great spot for a large party. The service was great and the food was served quickly. Everyone's meal was prepared as requested and each was hot and fresh. Great place for a casual meal with numerous Tv's to keep you up to date on sports.
Our service was great and we both loved our food. Both of us had burgers were cooked like we asked with good flavor. I loved the onion rings and my friend loved the tater tots just as much. Portion sizes were perfect as well. Plenty to eat without being overwhelmed by the amount. Easily the best dining experience I’ve had so far at Fox and Hound. I’m excited to return soon.
We took our Mother for Mother’s Day
Food was very good especially the pretzel appetizers and the brussel sprouts. Service for 10 of us was fast , efficient and very good.
It was Saturday evening and the bar seating was extremely noisy. Table seating was noisy but you could communicate across the table. Server was friendly, good but too busy to handle the large crowd. Should have additional servers to help on Saturday. Food was good.
Rough. Server was all over the place and hardly serving anyone. Food came out soggy and cold. Awful experience, will not return.
Went here for dinner tonight and had the worst experience ever. Let me say we've been here many times before with excellent quality and service. We we're here over an hour and ordered nachos to share. The kitchen messed up the first order of nachos so we sent them back. They brought out two more orders that were cold and still wrong! We ordered a fourth time, something different and waited over 20 minutes for a burger and tots...we almost before gave up and left when they set it down. A manager never came out to apologize and when I asked to speak with him I was told he was too busy managing the kitchen. Unfortunate, this has been our fav place for nachos for years but I'll be finding somewhere else.
I made a reservation through Open Table for Fox & Hound in Raleigh for my father’s 60th birthday dinner. We had a party of 9. I received a confirmation of my reservation with the restaurant, but when I arrived 15 mins prior to the reserved time I was told that there was no record of my reservation. Despite showing both the hostess and a manager the confirmed reservation on my phone, I was told we would have to wait until enough tables opened up to accommodate our party. There were several unoccupied tables that could have met our needs, but those were reserved (presumably not on the Open Table app) for other large parties. Getting 9 people a Table anywhere else on a Saturday night was impossible in a timely manner with 3 grandkids in tow, so we had to resort to fast food for my father’s 60th celebration. As a result of this experience I will not be going back to Fox & Hound ever again and I won’t be using Open Table to make reservations, seeing as I can’t trust that I will actually have a reservation when I get to the restaurant. Play it safe. Don’t trust special occasions to Open Table reservations.
