Fox & Hound - King of Prussia

We came in on a football Sunday to watch the game, have a few beers and some food. For being a sports bar, our waiter had no idea what beers were on the menu or even what some of them were. We all ordered from the draft list, and every beer we said was met with a confused face, as if we were speaking a different language, and we would have to show him on the menu. We were a big group (10 people), but he messed up almost every person's food order. He was kind enough to split our bills, but unfortunately that was messed up, too.
I did feel bad for the waiter, as it was busy, as expected for a football game, but there only appeared to be two wait staff for the entire room. We waited a long time for food and drink refills. I would think if you know it is a big game weekend, you would have more staff on hand.
Food was ok. Typical fried bar food, but that is what I expected.
Bathrooms need a lot of work.
We came with our two children to grab some food and watch the second half of the eagles game. We made a reservation only to find out that there was a sign stating to seat ourselves when we got there. Most of the available tables were dirty. We sat at one but after several minutes no one greeted us so we moved to another table closer to the bar. A waiter then helped us and cleaned off the table at my request. The food was just ok and the draft beer did not taste very fresh. To top it all off, only one stall I. The ladies room was actually working. I wish we turned around a found another restaurant instead. I rarely submit a poor review but this was one experience that just baffled me. I couldn’t get over how poorly run the entire place was.
It was busy on a Friday night as expected, there was a private party in the back rooms and it was loud overall. I had checked ahead of time to see if they had gluten free options, and was excited to see that they even had a laminated gluten free menu! But, my excitement was short-lived as the first 5 items I tried to order off of it were not available. The waitress was knowledgable, she did know that they had changed the chicken in the tacos and that no longer made it GF. So I finally did order something, but the kitchen seemed to have no clue. I ordered a GF burger... which came out on a bun. They took it back and then brought it out... same burger... on a GF bun... which was still cold. I'm sure they keep the GF buns in the freezer, but even if it had been all the way thawed, slapping it on the same burger that had just touched a regular bun is a huge no-no for someone who can get sick with gluten exposure. Other than that, for people who don't have restrictions, I think Fox and Hound is a fantastic place to go any time of the day or week. Adults and families alike will enjoy the menu and the atmosphere. I would love to see them expand their knowledge of serving GF foods to serve the growing number of people with Celiac and other issues. Many restaurants around them are doing so, which will leave them out of the running for certain groups of people.
Haven't been there in a few years, but met up with 2 former coworkers for a late lunch, and even though I had booked via open table it was seat yourself, of which we picked a nice booth, and the waitress was very attentive, and I explained that I had booked via open table and wanted to make sure I checked in to get credit it for it. She told the mgr, and the mgr came to the table to let me know that he had checked us in.
Fish tacos, southwest salad, and chicken caesar salad were on the menu, and they were all good, and nice portions. A very nice afternoon of catching up.
Lunch on Saturday afternoon and restaurant was empty. Now I know why. Staff was not friendly and with no one else to tend to, it took over 5 minutes for someone to greet us. Longer to get menus. Had food before utensils. Food was mediocre at best. Too many other places that know how to do bar food.
This was an odd experience. There is no greeter at the front entrance and instead there is a sign that says "Seat Yourself." Very few dining patrons were in the restaurant and we ate there at 7:00 PM on a Saturday night. The food was good and our waitress was wonderful, but so few patrons made the ambiance odd. I am unsure if we got Open Table credit for our reservation since there was no one with whom to check in.
I have had the rib eye steak in the past which is very good for $23.00. But, the fish sandwich I ordered this time sucked. Paper thin piece of fish cooked to death.
I was very surprised that they only had one server in the dining room on a Sunday night during football season. I took into consideration my prior visits when writing this review, otherwise everything would have been poor and I would not go back ever.
Honestly it was okay- staff seemed overwhelmed and couldn’t keep up and there wasn’t that many people
Went with a friend to watch a football game that was not televised in my area. The food and service was great! We had appetizers, drinks and a very late lunch. All food and drinks were great, as was our server., Jackie T. The server was helpful with any questions that we had about the menu and she checked in with us to make sure we didn’t need anything several times. We were there for more than 3 hours. We enjoyed watching the game and a big golf open at the same time on their large screens.
made a reservation. when we arrived the sign said seat yourself. there was no one in sight. after walking around and trying to find a clean table after passing 5 dirty tables we left. will not go back ever.
Visiting guests from out of town
Good spot not fancy but good bar food
Very empty with the new restaurants nearby, so not waiting was nice. Even for sports bar style food, it was mediocre.
Eh. Less than stellar. Not crowded.
We had a nice waitress and helped with picking out the Brussel sprout appetizer which was wonderful. Two of us ordered hamburgers but was not done how we asked for them. May try one more time.
We arrived to a loud dining room though that may have been due to an NBA playoff game on the TVs. We asked for a booth but the only ones have very dim lights over the table. We ordered a half rack of ribs, a chicken sandwich (the Dilemma) and rosemary chicken. The ribs were overly tough and the server offered to switch it with a cheeseburger, which turned out fine. Both chicken dishes were rubbery and pretty much tasteless, and the broccoli with the rosemary chicken was quite bland. We discussed the issues with a manager who offered to give a free dessert the next time we visited but I don’t think we would be coming back.
Dirty, old and need updating. A new manager may help. Prime location and no one there at 6:30 on a Friday night.... you’ll figure it out. Sad cause I wanted it to be good!
Its to bad that there is not a way to give a negative number to the experience that we had. upon arrival the hostess was very good and provided our table once all of our party. Bar staff was also very attentive, but that is where it ends. After being seated, we waited for almost 25 minutes with not one single server stopping at our table, although there were at least three in the area serving other table, At which point we left and made other arrangements. Never again
The sign at the front said to “seat yourself” so my boyfriend and I walk into the restaurant and look for a table and almost every table in the section that did not have patrons sitting at it was dirty and still had food on it. When we went to sit at an clean table, we were rudely told those tables were saved for a party. The waitress rude and didn’t really help find a clean table. The service was slow.
Awesome place to eat and get together with friends.
If negative stars were an option I’d give -5! The food was all frozen out of a bag, service was terrible and slow. Even the soda was flat.
Surprising quiet for a Friday night. Food was good. Had a nice meal and time talking with spouse on a date.
The service was terrible. The food was mediocre at best. I had to wait about 15 minutes until our waitress came back to let her know my order was wrong. Other people in our group went to the bar to get the own drinks because no server came around .
We had reservations and they stuck us at Hightops. I have never been stuck at hightops when I had a reservation before. I have a bad leg and cannot sit at hightops, so I had to stand for the entire time.
Empty on a Friday night!
