The craft beer selection highlights microbreweries found in Illinois and throughout the Midwest. The artfully crafted cocktail list is fueled by exquisite spirits and handmade by artisans whose commitment to the quality of their products is unmatched. The wineries we work with are small, often family-owned, and dedicated to sustainable farming and traditional vinification methods. Like our drink menu, our food menu showcases local farms and regionally sourced products. This, mixed with our talented cooks, creates an environment where food, drink, and atmosphere make for a perfect evening out.
Please note: Our upstairs terrace is first come, first serve... no exceptions.
Food and ambiance were great! We will definitely go back in the summer to enjoy the rooftop deck!
Great food, cocktails & service!
fourteensixteen is a gem! The bartender, Jim was so personable and accommodating that he even came over to our table to see if we were enjoying ourselves and if we needed any more drinks. Our waiter Brett was also quite good and provided great service. The Amuse Bouche was the best one bite and a bargain at $3. My husband and I shared a Chopped Salad which was large enough for two and delicious. I had the Venison and my husband had the Flat Iron Steak which were done perfectly and seasoned very well. All and all great food, service, drinks and a great experience. We look forward to many more visits there.
We were seated on the second floor, which is really nice, more private ,not too loud. Food was excellent , i had steak hunger, which was really well prepared and tasted so good. I mean, everything was really nice, our server was very nice, knowledgeable and polite. This was not our first time there, definitely will come again.
Great food, OK price and wonderful service. A bit noisy so they should hang a few boise baffle panels in certain places throughout the restaurant. Will def go back.
Excellent!! Food was fantastic. We loved everything we ordered and we ordered several courses!! Can’t wait to go back.
Pleasantly surprised. There are a lot of good suburban restaurants in DT LaGrange but this is more like something you'd find in the city. It's really, really good.
Great service, food fresh and innovative. Nice atmosphere.
On a date with my gal of 20 years. We sat near the window looking into the kitchen to watch the chefs at work. Great vibe in restaurant, great service, fantastic food. The bartender was engaged in conversation with all customers posted up around the bar!
Service non existent food took forever when it did come it was cold & had be replaced server ignored us. We had seek out another server
Consistently good food paired with consistently mediocre service. We’ll keep dining here - hoping for some improvement.
We went for Restaurant Week. The food on the special menu was great and a good value.
The food is fresh, delicious, impeccably prepared.
Very quiet, probably due to the weather. The eggs were very soft in the Farmers Skillet, almost not cooked well enough. But the potatoes and bacon was very tasty. The bathrooms were freezing cold!!
We went to celebrate a friend's birthday. The food was great and it was exactly the right venue to have a celebration. The birthday girl enjoyed the Restaurant week entree.
Went for brunch and it was just ok. Service was good. However, at 12:30 on they were already out of the burger. Our chopped salad was missing items like tomatoes and corn. The Bloody Mary didn’t have much flavor. Don’t think we will be back.
Delicious food and outstanding service. We highly recommend dining here.
I just love Fourteen Sixteen! The service is impeccable and the food never disappoints. We'll be back!
Waitress forgot our wine. Dessert was stale and not very tasty.
I didn’t expect to be wowed by brunch but I was. Small but tasty menu.
The pre-fixe menu was fantastic; I’ve had venison many times and have never craved it before; I crave the venison from your place! Keep up the high standards. Will be back soon 😊
Lively atmosphere and good food. Lots of variety but not the same old thing. Had the lamb nachos, the bass, the burger, the cioppino, the tasting menu and a dessert trio. The burger was good but had no toppings except carmelized onions which didn’t give much of a first impression.
Great cocktails, the food was outstanding. We had the fixed price meal for Restaurant Week and loved everything that was served.
Fourteen Sixteen was not quite what my wife & I expected. The service was very good but the restaurant was rather noisy. The food was good but not exceptional. This is a trendy restaurant good for socializing or a date night.
My husband and I went for dinner and it was delightful! The server was great and the food was amazing!
The restaurant week menu was delicious and creative. Off the regular menu, the cheese curds were excellent and the burger was moist, flavorful and cooked to perfection.
Very delicious food and quiet environment so you can talk to your friend and enjoy the time.
Great steaks! Only suggestion- Bring back the chicken meatball!
Toooooo loud food good not great but prices of high end better restaurants
My first time and I loved it! Went with some couples and shared items which was great because we were able to try a lot. Great service. Had no complaints!
We went for brunch and while the menu is limited, the choices are all perfect. I had beignets and they tasted better than the ones at Café Du Monde in New Orleans. Much lighter and placed over caramelized walnuts. They were lightly dusted with powdered sugar as opposed to being saturated New Orleans style. My brunch friend ate every scrap on his plate and he does not often do that. We went on one of the coldest days of the year and it was worth the trip despite the frigid temperature.
Arrived after a frustrating day of wedding dress shopping and were greeted at the bar by super friendly and fun bartender named Jim(?). All went uphill from there with his recommendations on wine and appetizers. Then we went to our table for dinner which was delicious! Made the day end on a high note! Thanks! We will be back!
I think that the menu here is one of the best in town. I almost always have some kind of vegetable flatbread which is always excellent. Far superior to other flatbreads in the area. At this particular dinner, my friend ordered the roasted chicken plated on a bed of shaved brussels sprouts and she was enamored of the dish from first to last bite. I took part of my flatbread home , saving it for lunch the next day, and it was fine even being heated in the microwave. I wish 1416 would do daily lunches, but I am grateful for their presence on a street packed with Italian fare.
Wife and I did a New Year’s early night out and went to fourteensixteen after a movie.
I wish I could offer a more positive review. Overall OK, but just OK. The waiter was attentive and definitely concerned about us and we appreciated that. But he couldn’t overcome some things.
The pricey fixed menu for NYE was interesting but mixed in terms of execution. Dessert was a key lime pie and was terrific. The sea urchin selection was also good. And the duck preparation was well conceived and tasty. The Wagyu beef was disappointing ... small piece and a good 1/3 of it was solid fat. Maybe four edible bites. Lobster was fine, but also quite small given the overall price for the dinner.
My wife is a pescatarian and we asked for just one possible deviation to accommodate her ... even a simple small salad or something veggie and simple ... and while the waiter did go to the kitchen and try, evidently they would not budge ... so she omitted a course and they did not make a price accommodation for it.
Service ... as noted the waiter was a plus but they rushed the courses ... one time bringing out the next one before we finished the dish we were still working on. And it isn’t like we were pressing the limits of the seating times ... had plenty of time. Again, the waiter was mortified and apologized, but just about the time I took the final bit of the current dish the next one showed up again.
Wines were well selected and good. Ambience is good and the place did have a comfy, not too frantic feel. You could tell lots of regulars come here and we really liked the set up in the bar area and the restaurant in general.
So mixed, but not completely disappointing. My advice to the kitchen and management is don’t get out too far over your skis and be a little more detail and customer focused. We may try it again on a non-holiday date.
We have eaten here a number of times and each time has been terrific. We’ve interacted with different personnel and all have been very professional and really friendly. We’ll certainly keep coming back!
We went to 1416 for a Birthday celebration the week after Christmas. We went fairly early ( 5:45) and were sat in the up stairs deck area, which had great ambiance with the torch heaters and snowflakes falling in the background. We were also the only ones sitting up there at the time, so it was a wonderful setting. ( The deck did fill up by the time we left) The food and service was great. There were three of us and we all had something different. The food is both fresh and decadent so that you don't need overflowing plates of food. It also leaves room for desert. I would recommend this place to anyone, special occasion, or just a great nite out.
WE HAD AN AMAZING DINNER, AND OUR SERVER, TIM WAS AMAZING!
We had a wonderful experience! Love the atmosphere, service, and the food keeps on delivering.
