Founding Farmers Tysons is a farmer owned restaurant that offers fresh food and drink with an emphasis and focus on cooking from scratch with ingredients sourced from near and far, from sources we trust, in a modern farmhouse setting. The bar is not to be missed, offering delicious scratch sodas, craft cocktails, and an all Virginia draught beer list; we'll have just the thing to quench your thirst. Approximately 30% of the menu includes items inspired by the culinary traditions of Virginia in a modern way. Weekend brunch at Founding Farmers Tysons is BUFFET style, with a wide array of breakfast, lunch, salad, entree, and dessert options. The restaurant is upscale casual, which welcomes business casual dress, and dress that would be appropriate in a nice restaurant; this includes jeans and athletic wear, and warm-weather clothing, including shorts.

This restaurant has really delicious food. The cocktails are very tasty and created with care and pride. I have noticed some things have taken a downhill turn though. For instance, this visit, the Bacon Lollies were smaller, overly chewy, and less artfully presented than in the past. The Bucatini Carbonara was a bit bland and very sparsely sauced. Bread/cornbread no longer given. The noise level/music gets to the point where you can’t enjoy conversation with your meal. You have a great thing going, Founding Farmers... Please find a way to lower the restaurant volume and don’t get skimpy on us.

It was decent... they have less stuff on the brunch buffet than they used to have ... also seemed lower quality ... passed items never made it to our table and we had to flag down the server and ask for refills on our drinks ... seems like they are slipping compared to the great experiences we have had in the past. Will think twice before we go back for brunch here.

$32.95 + tax + tip rip off per person

I had been here before but never for the weekend brunch. I wouldn't have agreed to come because my first two experiences were mediocre, overpriced food. However, the other guests were anxious to try Founding Farmers.
There was great disappointment from the beginning. We anticipated a choice between the weekend brunch buffet or ala carte from the menu. There is no choice until 2 p.m. on Sunday. You have one choice before then and that is the mediocre, overpriced Buffet. Nowhere was that made clear on the menu or in OpenTable where we made the reservation.

So off we went to the buffet hoping to get our money's worth. There's a choice of breakfast and lunch items.

The Food....
American bacon is generally offered crispy or medium. The choice here was greasy, wiggly barely cooked slab bacon. The hash browns looked delicious and were neatly presented on a big grill. However, they were so salty that they were inedible. The scrambled eggs were fine.

Last time I checked FRUIT was one of major food groups in the nutritional lineup. The ONLY fruit to be found on the buffet table was fresh pineapple and maybe some buried in a mayonnaise-laden, limp salads.

The menu hypes *a rotating selection of passed items* delivered by attractive waiters. Today the items were fried shrimp, eggs Benedict and baby pot pies. All were delicious but MIA. We saw a waiter offering those once in the two hours we were there.

Desserts were plentiful. Generally, it's pretty hard to go wrong with sweets. Well, Founding Farmers managed to disappoint with all except the cinnamon buns. The beautiful square and glazed donuts were filled with a sickeningly dense creamy pudding that squirts out when you bite into the donut. Nice!

Coffee, tea and water are complimentary with your $32.95. Wooohoo!

I will never return to this rip-off joint.  Don't waste your money because there are so many other places in the Tysons area that offer so much better.

Founding Farmers is usually a great experience but their food was almost inedible from all the salt at the brunch on Sunday. All six people in my party agreed.

The location of Founding Farmers in Tysons is convenient, food is very good, drinks (cocktails and coffees) are excellent, service is very good - only drawback is the poor acoustics and resulting loud noise, but the value we received on a busy Saturday evening when we entertained family from out of town made the evening a great success.

This was our first visit to Founding Farmers in Tysons and it was a great visit. We were looking for something more than the typical mall restaurants and found this when searching the area.
The staff was great. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and had an fantastic time. The food is excellent and every dish was enjoyable.
We will be dining here again when we are in the area.
Highly recommend.

We love to come here, we always did for lunch or dinner, this time was our first time for breakfast, was kind of disappointed. I ordered my breakfast with waffles, but I guess it was at the end of the breakfast so they didn't have dough for waffles, so the manager came to me and she apologized for it, instead she offered me other options. She asked me if I wanted to try the French toast, I said ok. I regreted because they were almost burnt and so greasy. They had no taste at all and the french toast just awful. She never came back to ask how was it.
When the server came to my table she didn't ask either, even when she saw the French toast was almost untouched. She asked me if I wanted a box and I refused.
Well.... If you don't touch the food it is because there is something wrong right???
I can't say the same thing about the pancakes because they're to die for and l just delicious. So next time, I will definitely ask for pancakes and never again ask for FRENCH TOAST.

Thank you, Gabby for sharing your review. I am SO sorry that the French Toast was far from enjoyable and our server made the mistake of not asking if you were dissatisfied with your meal- especially since you did not touch it. :/ Please know, our Management & Culinary Team has read your feedback and will follow up with the staff members that worked this past Thursday. Of course, we do hope to have you back for another try and please call us at 703-442-8783 for any reservation help needed. -Amy

We had a reservation and they seated us on time but took over ten minutes for anyone to come greet us, bring water, etc. The waiter ending up being good after all. The drinks took a very long time from the bar but the food came out in a reasonable amount of time.

We started with drinks: a Founding Farmers Herbal Tea blend & a Mango Lime Rickey, both very delicious! Then we had the cinnamon roll cronut as a starter which was AMAZING! We even had a hard time deciding because all of the flavors sounded so yummy!

For our main breakfast we had the Biscuits & Gravy and the Farmhouse Breakfast deal - again all of it was incredible! The grits were extra smoky & eggs perfectly poached!

As for the guest experience, we were seated in the back, so being tucked away made for a quieter more secluded dining experience. Our server Anne was the sweetest and so attentive! She even explained the background story of all the numbers on the utensils to us!

Not sure where to begin with our experience, we tried to order oysters but our server had no idea what the selection of oysters offered was, multiple things we tried to order from the menu they "were out of" on a Tuesday night, and two of the diners ordered the grilled vegetable entree, which when it came, didn't have grilled vegetables, more like sauted vegetables covered in oil. We even tried to order the cookie plate for dessert and they didn't make one of the cookies on the menu and were out of another one. Just a bad experience all around

BABA, I am very sorry for the many disappointments that occurred during your visit. Having uninformative service, lacking main dishes & missing cookies are each a reason to be let down, and I feel terrible this was your takeaway from your time with us. This said, I would love to touch base and will send you a PM with my email address. -Amy

Overall experience was only 3 stars because of the high noise level. It was a problem for conversation, though we were seated away from the (even noisier) bar. Wall surfaces are not noise-absorbing--that would help! Wait staff was hard-working and attentive, and the food was very good. I wish I could recommend the experience more, but the noise level was pretty daunting.

This is my third meal at the Founding Farmers family of restaurants (Founding Farmers downtown, Farmers and Distillers, and Founding Farmers Tysons) and it is always "fine". They are always busy and the service is good enough but the food and drinks are just average. Nothing special. I think after 3 tries I have given it a fair chance and am ready to move on to something better.

My family and I love Founding Farmers. We frequent this location as well as the other locations often. We were celebrating Fathers Day and we’re disappointed in our experience. Our waitress failed to mention any specials, left dirty dishes from our appetizer on our table the whole time, and repeatedly walked past our table without checking in on us.

The food and drinks were very good! Try their specialty drink concoctions. Their fried green tomatoes with 2 condiments are always amazing! FYI, not a lot of sound absorption, though, and the customers can be loud.

Two of the three dinners were excellent. The third was a disaster. Fish and Chips with two undersized and greasy fish pieces and completely overcooked fries. I must give them credit for trying to make it right. They were late checking back with us, but when my son expressed his dissatisfaction the waiter got the manager and they remade his meal as a to go order. It was as it should have been and he had a meal for the next day. All in all not bad, but not what you expect from a well reviewed establishment.
