Went for brunch. Had a great time. The staff was great and helpful for all our needs.
Always a great food, great drinks and a great time!
Great food, great service, great menu. This was a great first time for everyone at the table. Will be recommending it to anyone coming out to Virginia. Great to have fresh and local produce. It was also fun to see the Farmers Union name, being a North Dakota resident and familiar with farmers who are members.
Great food as usual. Asked for house wine and was brought a $25 Duckhorn. Didn’t know until the bill came. Went during restaurant week (which you don’t have to take advantage of) but at the end of the meal we were too full to get dessert, so waiter offered a $10 gift card, we were pleasantly surprised then on the bill we were charged $9 for said card. Declined the gift card and left.
A group of us from work come here periodically. This trip was for restaurant week. We each got an appetizer, entrée and had an option of dessert or $10 gift card for a later visit. We had fried green tomatoes, cornbread, brie and ham appetizers - all good. We had chicken fried steak, fried chicken, and hot dogs for mains - also good. The "Jefferson Donut" that comes with the chicken fried steak and fried chicken is awesome! Most of us ate that for dessert and took the $10 gift card instead of dessert. Service is sometimes a little slow, but our waitress could tell we were on lunch hour from work and kept things flowing so it did not take too long. I enjoy their house-made egg cream sodas and rickies. There are selections here for everyone including vegetarians.
The only issue we had was that we were not checked in on time by the host. We told him we had a reservation and he found it but We had to stand there for 45 mins thinking that he was waiting for a table for us. WhenI approached the lady and ask for our table thats when we found out that we were not checked in. Food was great. Our server was awesome. Overall, it was a nice dinner.
Always enjoy eating at Founding Farmers. The food is delicious and the servers are super friendly and attentive!
Phenomenal restaurant. Great atmosphere and exceptional food.
The food was very good and the service was excellent! The acoustics in there are such that it gets pretty loud at times. I recommend the ceviche, but don't expect traditional ceviche - it is more like a salad with seafood in it - excellent, just not necessarily what you might be expecting when you order it.
Wide range of food and drinks. Big space that's a bit loud, but a good meet-up spot for whatever occasion.
If happiness was a place it would be this restaurant. The food was so delicious. Every time the waiter brought someone else's food I wanted to eat it. Everything looked and smelled so good. Best part: it's in my price range. That's saying a lot knowing that all the food at this restaurant is made from scratch from the biscuits to the ice cream.
I'm coming back. No exceptions. Take all of my money.
cocktails are over priced, i had a $17 ABSOLUTE martini. I don't mind paying more for food quality, but overpriced drink markups like that are just ridiculous. Everything else was PERFECT
Thoroughly enjoyed this location. The food is always delicious and the energy of wait staff is great.
I went to founding farmers for restaurant week and I really enjoyed the Tyson’s location. I was slightly late for my reservation but I was seated right away. The waitress was great and the food was too. I will definitely be back!
We had a lovely dinner. My colleague had not been to FF before. She loved the variety in the menu and our server was super enthusiastic and helpful!
Excellent foods, as always!
One very minor thing is not crispy french fries. I like crispy french fries.
Our waiter was very patient and provided us with the time we needed as we were catching up after having not seen each other for years. The food was excellent and a great value as it was restaurant week. Will go back again!
The food was Great! We were celebrating with friends from Europe, and I and two others at our table had the Impossible Burger. The Burger was so Good we asked for the recipe!! Everyone in our party truly enjoyed their food, drinks and the ambience!
The service was very disappointing. It took a long time to get drinks and food ordered, and our waiter seemed harried - he was very curt with us. And then when we got our food, we did not get utensils, and we had to chase down our waiter to get them. I think they were short-staffed, which is a very frustrating situation for the waitstaff, so I felt bad for the waiter.
All the dishes smelled like eggs. All salad offerings i couldn’t eat do to allergies. Options were limited.
Expected to really like this restaurant because it enjoyed is part of Farmers Restaurants, and I have had terrific meals at Farmers Fishers Bakers. Not so at Founding Fathers. Initially, reception area small and crowded, people bunched together tightly. By the time we left, noticed reception packed so tightly that people had to stand outside. We were seated 18 minutes after our reservation. The food was adequate. The brunch offering all in one room, contrast Farmers Fishers Bakers where the food was most spread out on different counteres. Food labeling was unclear and kept having to turn labels to see the food offered. We were given eggs benedict from a server, but it was room temperature. The fruit was all inexpensive melon. Against contrast Farmers Fishers Bakers, better fruit offerings. Desserts at Founding Fathers okay but nothing special. Our server was very good, attentive. All of us at the meal had the same general thoughts.
Great brunch buffet, minus the desserts - they always tend to be just average and disappointing. Hot foods on the buffet were well-seasoned, plentiful, and fresh. Don’t skip the biscuits; they’re worth the calories!
Great place to eat, but make sure you have reservation especially if you go during the brunch hours. It is packed and always busy. Sunday are crazy, but I got there early and once all of my party arrived our table was ready (1st time this happened normally I wait 10 + minutes). Food on the buffet was excellent, server was very attentive and made sure that we had drinks before our glasses were empty. I like the Tyson's Founding Farmers a lot, but if you like more veggies I recommend Reston's Founding Farmers.
A friend was visiting from out of town so I brought her to founding farmer for brunch and she loved it.
The bartender was exceptional, the server attentive, the food less than average.
Great for a 7pm dinner reservation, when the lights get dimmed to low. It is a little noisy to have a conversation with six people but, in general, it would be nice for two to four people. The food has ‘good comfort’ written all over it. Be careful if you are lactose intolerant or allergic because some of the pastas are labeled marinara when in fact they are prepared with cream.
The noise level is very high. I asked to be seated upstairs, and that was much better. I don’t think I would have enjoyed my meal if I had been seated downstairs.
I felt like I was at an assembly line being rushed through dinner. We came with two kids but no one offered us a high chair or a children’s menu. We had to ask for both. I ordered a glass of wine and my husband ordered a cocktail to start. The waitstaff never asked if I wanted another glass of wine or asked my husband if he would like another drink with dinner. Usually it’s standard practice to ask if people want another drink with the main course. The waitstaff hovered over us making us feel rushed. I felt like I had to make a selection only couple minutes after the menu was brought but it’s a huge menu so it takes a while to read it. They asked us about dessert while we were still eating the main course and of course the check was brought before we finished eating which sadly has become a common practice now days. It was not a relaxing experience. Plus it’s way too noisy in the restaurant. There is nothing to absorb the noise in the big dining area. I don’t think I will return. Plenty of other restaurants around that don’t rush you through the meal like that. The management should focus on making the meal relaxing rather than instructing the waitstaff to hover over people trying to enjoy a meal and have a conversation without being interrupted by the wait staff every couple minutes.
Overall pleasant experience, except we had a slow waitress and the appetizer was subpar.
First time; food was awesome!
After reading about this restaurant for a couple of years we finally tried it. Not a good experience. We didn’t receive our entrees for well over an hour after ordering since my choice was not available. This was discovered by the waitress after some time and I had to re-order. Overall, the food was ok, not great and the service was poor. Likely won’t return. I sent an email to this location to point out our disappointment.
Great place to dine!
It was a great dinner, been here several times. Although today there was a mess up with the food, the service to correct it was phenomenal! Overall, amazing place and I’ll continue to go back!
The noise level in this restaurant was unacceptable. Very, very loud, impossible to carry on a conversation. The Manhattans were listed on the drink menu as $15. We were charged $17 without requesting a specific brand of Bourbon. The food was very good as was the service.
Excellent meal for our anniversary dinner. I thought the service was especially good on a night they were really busy (as usual). Loved the butterscotch bread pudding for dessert!
Perfect place for a reunion with friends!
I like the idea of Founding Farmers, but the food is not as interesting as it was a few years ago, the service not as polished. This was our second "okay" experience, going forward FF is no longer on my "go to" list of restaurants. As far as recommending to a friend or returning, my answer is maybe.
Good service and good healthy food combine to make a good lunch event with friends. A wee bit on the noisy side but conversation was easy if adjoining table spillover was a nuisance. Ample options and server had no difficulty accepting requests for adjustments to specials. Good value for the price.
We really enjoyed the cornbread and Brie appetizers. My shrimp and lobster risotto was also good. Everything tasted fresh. And great service!
Fantastic food and experience, as always! Nicely Done FF.
