Founding Farmers - Tysons
Fantastic service and impeccable quality of food. Preparation was spot on and dessert was a nice touch to such a high quality meal.
Had Thursday lunch at Tysons location I would like to go back because I liked the food. BUT, the noise level made it difficult to converse with the person sitting next to me and nearly impossible to talk to the two people on the other side of the booth. Friends who have eaten at the Pennsylvania Ave location had the same reaction.
This restaurant has an excellent menu selection and variety for all tastes. Highly recommend. It is a very noisy restaurant which is the only drawback.
We had a slow start but the manager made sure we had a great meal and outstanding experience. My favorite place to dine out in Tysons
Celebrating a hirthday
Overall good experience. May be the flavor is not to my palate.,Average food and service. I’m not sure will be back again or not.
Seated 20 minutes late. Server lacked warmth, enthusiasm, energy, sense of urgency, or concern. Service was slow, especially coffee - waiting 10 minutes is not acceptable. Cole slaw on chicken sandwich was 3-4 large pieces of cabbage.
Hi DanJ: Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. I am so so sorry to read that your visit was met with many disappointments- delayed seating, lacking service & subpar coleslaw. :( I'd love the chance to touch base and will send you a PM with my email address. -Amy
Visited the Founding Farmers for the first time this week. I enjoyed hearing about the history of the founding farmers, and it made me feel like I was in for a treat. Boy! my expectations were surpassed. Food was served in good proportions that I was able to order the carrot cake for dessert. Servers and waiters were in good spirits and always ready to refill your drink.
I enjoyed my dinner at the Founding Farmers very much, but I only have two small issues with this location. One the noise level is a bit loud and hard to have a conversation across the table. Second, finding the bathrooms is an adventure, as it is located one-floor level up. I believe it took about 5 minutes just to find the bathroom. Otherwise, I enjoyed my experience enough that I returned twice more this week.
The food is always delicious! Although I enjoy eating here any time of day, breakfast and brunch are my favorite!
Great experience for our 12 year old daughter on her birthday. He food was wonderful and the service was just as good.
Brunch was great, with a wide selection of food (the crab dip was my favorite) It was pretty crowded, so we didn't have our servers full attention, but he was great none the less. Can't wait to go back!
I've been to the other Founding Farmer's restaurants and they are all fantastic. The brunch buffett at Tyson's wasn't very good. They didn't have a lot of options and the food itself wasn't very good.
Our server worked very hard, and we appreciated very much that he tried to make up for the fact their were almost no dairy free options. Salmon, pineapple, and chia pudding.
I was hosting a lactose intolerant friend and it was so awkward to have a copious amount of food in front of me while she ate pineapple.
We had a large party with several children and they did an excellent job accommodating us. Everyone had fun.
Always enjoy Brunch at Founding Farmers. The food is excellent and the selection is extensive.
Hi WartelS: Thank you for your ALL STAR 5-STAR review! :D Much appreciated and we hope to have you back soon. -Amy
Good food and waiter was wonderful
We are frequent customers of Tysons Founding Farmers. The staff, especially the managers, have wonderful recommendations and are very knowledgeable about their sourcing of the foods they serve. I would recommend the Clementine cocktail, truly incredible. The desserts are amazing. The carrot cake is just perfection. Large tasty portions and good value for money overall.
We love coming here because the drinks and food are great and everyone is super friendly. We hate coming here because you never know how long it’s actually going to take to get seated or get food. The last time we went it took about 45 minutes to get food and they brought the appetizers out about 90 seconds before our entrees. This past visit, we waited for 30 minutes past our reservation that we showed up a bit early for (anticipating a wait) and had to rush through eating out food with a hangry toddler.
Hi BethanyS: Thank you for sharing your review with us. Our team is real sorry to read about the inconsistencies in service that you've encountered with us, and feel badly that we have left you unknown on what to expect with the pace of your experience when dining with us. :/ That said, I'd love to touch base and will send you a PM with my email address. -Amy
I’ve been to Founding Farmers in Rockville, but this was my first visit to the Tyson’s Corner location. The young man at the hostess stand left a lot to be desired. He barely looked up, didn’t smile and just seemed overall unhappy and unpleasant. I didn’t walk in with the warm and fuzzies, but thankfully the unpleasant experience ended there. The young lady who walked us to our table walked up to us smiling and was friendly. Our server (wish I’d gotten his name) was very pleasant, had a nice personality and he was attentive. The food was delicious and my scallops and risotto were cooked beautifully. My aunt enjoyed her cracker crusted shrimp and her fries were soooooo delicious. My butterscotch bread pudding was quite tasty. After our initial disappointment and chilly reception, our experience was quite pleasant and we enjoyed our meals and the table service!
They understood our short time frame and kept our dinner moving at a great pace. Thanks!!!
Outstanding menu. Everything we had was superb. We'll be back
As usual this is the location that makes the best food compared to Reston. Again didn’t disappoint, food was great and service was great
The slaw has changed again but was dry. Nothing that would keep us from coming again. The service was outstanding! Trout dish was also outstanding!
I'd recommend to anyone in the business community to try it out!
Every aspect of my eating experience at Founding Fathers was excellent.
Food was delicious--appreciated the locally sourced/fresh aspect.
Eric was an excellent server.
Had a 1pm reservation and still had to wait 15-20min to be seated because it was so packed. OpenTable showed a reservation available for 1pm, but I would’ve rather they showed FF-Tyson’s as busy instead of available because we would’ve gone elsewhere and not wait so long to be seated. Food was ok, but the selection was so-so. I found the chicken sausage to be dry and not warm, the bread pudding to be sub-par, and the grits super lumpy and not creamy. I’ve dined at FF-Reston for brunch and that had a much bigger selection of food, the food was so awesome (which is why we tried out FF-Tyson’s) and not so cramped or crowded. I’d much rather head to Reston than Tyson’s.
Had to wait 15-20 minutes to get our table (even though we had a reservation), food was delicious but ruined when I pulled out the longest, thickest hair out of my food. The restaurant was really loud and the bathrooms were NOT in the restaurant -- you had to leave the restaurant, take the elevator to the lobby, walk around for a bit to get to the bathroom (yes, plenty of signs showing you the way but actually took about 10 minutes to get there). Brunch was not a deal - end up spending over $33 per person and we probably only ended up eating $12 worth of food each. Do not recommend unless you are a fan of binge eating.
Hi Foodie: I am so sorry your brunch visit was only considered average (3 Stars), and all in all, this experience left much to be desired. :( I also apologize for the renovation happening to the building that houses our restaurant- sadly, this work has closed down the restrooms closest to our dining room & you're right, the only other bathrooms are in the lobby of the building. This said, we hope to have you back for another try & I will send you a PM with my contact info to stay in touch. -Amy
Brunch Buffett was varied and tasty. Seating was slow - 1/2 hour after reservations. Pricey drinks and buffet. Should be Clyde a mimosa or Bloody Mary to be competitively priced.
Best brunch in North Virginia!!!! Food is fresh and delicious. Great way to sample all the best of Founding Farmers
Great meal!! The food came out quickly and it was easy to tell that it was VERY fresh. The service was a bit slow, but it was a very busy Saturday night. It was also extremely loud and it was hard to hear the person across the table. It was overall a great meal though, definitely recommend it!
Everything was good except it was so loud in there is was difficult to hear
We went to this restaurant for the first time for my father's 82nd birthday. My dad loved it! The food is good and the service is great! We'll be back for sure!
My friends and I went for brunch. Our server stated they only sell the buffet for $35. After all of us went and got our meal from the buffet, he asks us if there was anything we wanted order - like pancakes, etc. We argued with him stating he told us earlier we could not order anything, it was all from the buffet. He insisted we misunderstood.
Hi Goose: Thank you for your review. I am very sorry for the miscommunication about our brunch options! We do in fact have passed items available when requested in lieu of the buffet items. This said, we appreciate your feedback and our team will surely take into consideration how we explain our different offerings in the future. We hope to have you back for another try soon and please call us at 703-442-8783 for any reservation help needed. -Amy
The food was fantastic. We enjoyed ourselves. My favorite bunch spot.
Among many things that were wrong with this restaurant, the seafood tower should have at least tried to visually be a tower...instead it was on a single round try with dry cocktail shrimp, 4 oysters, and one lobster (with crabmeat and condiments) that was a joke as a $67 dish. Even at half of that, it would have been a joke. While the dish was taken off the bill after our complaint, everything else we ordered just didn't do it. The idea of farm to table just wasnt visible in any of the dishes. Quite disappointing and very unlikely to go there even if invited for free. Its really too bad because the location is at least good. The cornbread, i should add, was good, but that's not hard to do.
Hi Disappointed: I am very to read our food (with the exception of the Cornbread) all fell short, and nothing really gave you that WOW factor. :( I am also super sorry for any confusion, however we are actually not "farm to table", but Farmer-owned by the North Dakota Farmers Union. Please know, our Culinary Team has been made aware of your feedback and will surely take into account what you shared. We do hope to have you back for another try and I will send you a PM to stay in touch. -Amy
Had to wait about ten minutes past our reservation time to be seated causing some concern as we had tickets for the nearby Cirque du Soleil performance. Food very good in a somewhat noisy setting. We focused on the starters along with a salad. The cornbread was excellent. Location perfect for the occasion.
Hi ShangH: Thank you for sharing your review with us. I am so sorry for the close call with our delay in seating your reservation! :/ This said, we are relieved to know that everything worked out and the evening ended on a high note. Our team is also happy your visit to our location was considered perfect for the occasion and hope to have you back soon! -Amy
Good food. Very good service. Bathroom under renovation and temporary is hard to find & far away. Tried to use a gift card and they had trouble verifying value so declined to accept it. Don’t buy the gift card.
If you want to talk with your date or friends over a nice dinner, you'll have to nearly shout across the table to be heard. Would not recommend this location for a quiet dinner together.
