Founding Farmers Tysons is a farmer owned restaurant that offers fresh food and drink with an emphasis and focus on cooking from scratch with ingredients sourced from near and far, from sources we trust, in a modern farmhouse setting. The bar is not to be missed, offering delicious scratch sodas, craft cocktails, and an all Virginia draught beer list; we'll have just the thing to quench your thirst. Approximately 30% of the menu includes items inspired by the culinary traditions of Virginia in a modern way. Weekend brunch at Founding Farmers Tysons is BUFFET style, with a wide array of breakfast, lunch, salad, entree, and dessert options. The restaurant is upscale casual, which welcomes business casual dress, and dress that would be appropriate in a nice restaurant; this includes jeans and athletic wear, and warm-weather clothing, including shorts.

Brunch was great, with a wide selection of food (the crab dip was my favorite) It was pretty crowded, so we didn't have our servers full attention, but he was great none the less. Can't wait to go back!

I've been to the other Founding Farmer's restaurants and they are all fantastic. The brunch buffett at Tyson's wasn't very good. They didn't have a lot of options and the food itself wasn't very good.

We are frequent customers of Tysons Founding Farmers. The staff, especially the managers, have wonderful recommendations and are very knowledgeable about their sourcing of the foods they serve. I would recommend the Clementine cocktail, truly incredible. The desserts are amazing. The carrot cake is just perfection. Large tasty portions and good value for money overall.

We love coming here because the drinks and food are great and everyone is super friendly. We hate coming here because you never know how long it’s actually going to take to get seated or get food. The last time we went it took about 45 minutes to get food and they brought the appetizers out about 90 seconds before our entrees. This past visit, we waited for 30 minutes past our reservation that we showed up a bit early for (anticipating a wait) and had to rush through eating out food with a hangry toddler.

I’ve been to Founding Farmers in Rockville, but this was my first visit to the Tyson’s Corner location. The young man at the hostess stand left a lot to be desired. He barely looked up, didn’t smile and just seemed overall unhappy and unpleasant. I didn’t walk in with the warm and fuzzies, but thankfully the unpleasant experience ended there. The young lady who walked us to our table walked up to us smiling and was friendly. Our server (wish I’d gotten his name) was very pleasant, had a nice personality and he was attentive. The food was delicious and my scallops and risotto were cooked beautifully. My aunt enjoyed her cracker crusted shrimp and her fries were soooooo delicious. My butterscotch bread pudding was quite tasty. After our initial disappointment and chilly reception, our experience was quite pleasant and we enjoyed our meals and the table service!

Had a 1pm reservation and still had to wait 15-20min to be seated because it was so packed. OpenTable showed a reservation available for 1pm, but I would’ve rather they showed FF-Tyson’s as busy instead of available because we would’ve gone elsewhere and not wait so long to be seated. Food was ok, but the selection was so-so. I found the chicken sausage to be dry and not warm, the bread pudding to be sub-par, and the grits super lumpy and not creamy. I’ve dined at FF-Reston for brunch and that had a much bigger selection of food, the food was so awesome (which is why we tried out FF-Tyson’s) and not so cramped or crowded. I’d much rather head to Reston than Tyson’s.

Had to wait 15-20 minutes to get our table (even though we had a reservation), food was delicious but ruined when I pulled out the longest, thickest hair out of my food. The restaurant was really loud and the bathrooms were NOT in the restaurant -- you had to leave the restaurant, take the elevator to the lobby, walk around for a bit to get to the bathroom (yes, plenty of signs showing you the way but actually took about 10 minutes to get there). Brunch was not a deal - end up spending over $33 per person and we probably only ended up eating $12 worth of food each. Do not recommend unless you are a fan of binge eating.

Hi Foodie: I am so sorry your brunch visit was only considered average (3 Stars), and all in all, this experience left much to be desired. :( I also apologize for the renovation happening to the building that houses our restaurant- sadly, this work has closed down the restrooms closest to our dining room & you're right, the only other bathrooms are in the lobby of the building. This said, we hope to have you back for another try & I will send you a PM with my contact info to stay in touch. -Amy

Brunch Buffett was varied and tasty. Seating was slow - 1/2 hour after reservations. Pricey drinks and buffet. Should be Clyde a mimosa or Bloody Mary to be competitively priced.

Great meal!! The food came out quickly and it was easy to tell that it was VERY fresh. The service was a bit slow, but it was a very busy Saturday night. It was also extremely loud and it was hard to hear the person across the table. It was overall a great meal though, definitely recommend it!

My friends and I went for brunch. Our server stated they only sell the buffet for $35. After all of us went and got our meal from the buffet, he asks us if there was anything we wanted order - like pancakes, etc. We argued with him stating he told us earlier we could not order anything, it was all from the buffet. He insisted we misunderstood.

Hi Goose: Thank you for your review. I am very sorry for the miscommunication about our brunch options! We do in fact have passed items available when requested in lieu of the buffet items. This said, we appreciate your feedback and our team will surely take into consideration how we explain our different offerings in the future. We hope to have you back for another try soon and please call us at 703-442-8783 for any reservation help needed. -Amy

Among many things that were wrong with this restaurant, the seafood tower should have at least tried to visually be a tower...instead it was on a single round try with dry cocktail shrimp, 4 oysters, and one lobster (with crabmeat and condiments) that was a joke as a $67 dish. Even at half of that, it would have been a joke. While the dish was taken off the bill after our complaint, everything else we ordered just didn't do it. The idea of farm to table just wasnt visible in any of the dishes. Quite disappointing and very unlikely to go there even if invited for free. Its really too bad because the location is at least good. The cornbread, i should add, was good, but that's not hard to do.

Hi Disappointed: I am very to read our food (with the exception of the Cornbread) all fell short, and nothing really gave you that WOW factor. :( I am also super sorry for any confusion, however we are actually not "farm to table", but Farmer-owned by the North Dakota Farmers Union. Please know, our Culinary Team has been made aware of your feedback and will surely take into account what you shared. We do hope to have you back for another try and I will send you a PM to stay in touch. -Amy

Had to wait about ten minutes past our reservation time to be seated causing some concern as we had tickets for the nearby Cirque du Soleil performance. Food very good in a somewhat noisy setting. We focused on the starters along with a salad. The cornbread was excellent. Location perfect for the occasion.

It was good enough that we went two nights in a row (in town on business), but ultimately, both meals were disappointing in some way. The first night, the waiter seemed annoyed whenever he came to the table. My coworker tried to put salt on her food - the lid came off the container and covered her whole meal in salt. The waiter offered to get a new meal. More than 5 minutes later, he finally came back and offered a salad while she waited, but should have done so right away. As it was, she didn't have time to finish the salad before her new dish appeared. The person that delivered the new meal told her not to blame herself for the lid coming off the salt (yeah, she wasn't) because "it happens all the time." Maybe go with option b for dispensing salt, then? Food was fine, not outstanding, but a lot of the menu looked good, so we went back. The second night, the same coworker ordered risotto. What she got was best described as rice with a cream sauce - and not enough sauce so that the rice wasn't fairly dry. It wasn't risotto by a long shot and, she said, not very good. My short rib was really good, I must admit. I gave it four stars because the idea is good and the menu overall looks good, but there is* a lot* of room for improvement.

Overall this is a good place to eat. I ordered the chicken fried steak. Did not enjoy - it was odd, no flavor and the crispy crust was dry and overdone. Mac and cheese was also quite ordinary. Biscuits were excellent and the meatloaf was good but not the best we’ve had. Our waitress was very average and a bit hard to find. Atmosphere is great and desserts are great.

This was our 5th time to weekend brunch. It had been a while and they had made changes that we didnt prefer... no more omelets cooked to order; no one slicing the carved meats; less food options out on the buffet. Had to ask a couple of times for the 'pass around' food. Our waitress told us about additional options to order after we had as already gone up to buffet once. Can order pancakes, Eggs Benedict and another item from server and is included.

Ordered the prime rib, scalloped potatoes, mixed vegetables, sweet mixed with unsweetened tea and strawberry ice cream.

Prime rib was dry, cold, tough and lacking flavor. Horse radish cream sauce was watered down and hardly worth mentioning.
Scalloped potatoes were dry and cold.
Mixed vegetables was nothing but cooked carrots. Typical restaurant trick to cut costs on serving something meaningful.
Tea was great.
Ice cream should be served ice cold. It came soft and melting.
Napkins made of polyester which I find disgusting.

Had a very pleasant and attentive waiter which was the only good thing about the experience.

Restaurant is pleasant to the eye and semi comfortable but extremely noisy and on the cold side temperature wise even with a long sleeve shirt. Could hardly wait to finish and leave.

Would I return? Yes, I’d give it a second chance but would try something else. The only reason for going tonight was because The Palm had no tables available.
