Founding Farmers - Tysons
Friendly and clean atmosphere; service was great -- staff and manager helped to make the experience enjoyable with frequent table visits; food and drinks were delicious.
It was great but they ran behind schedule and we weren’t seated for fifteen min after our reservation
Brunch was Busy but not in a good way. Service only fair- 10 mins to get tea, had to flag someone down to clear the table, etc. Food just ok. Not a good value for the price.
Cute and cozy
The service was much slower than I remembered from previous dining experiences here. I don’t know if the server had too many tables or what, but it seemed to take forever for someone to even come to the table to begin with.
The food was pretty good. The room, however was noisy as it was very crowded. Although we had a reservation we still waited 20 minutes for our table. Service was relatively slow, although again the restaurant was very crowded.
Delicious, parking is easy, drinks are tasty. Great service. Try the Devil-ish eggs!
We had to wait over 20 min even though we had a reservation. We actually ended up eating at the bar, so I have no idea how long our wait actually was. We didn’t know the menu on Saturday is only all you can eat brunch buffet, it was kinda disappointing actually. But that’s our fault for not checking the menu.
They were slow to refill and refill with food that was already stocked. The pancakes and eggs Benedict were bland.
Although Franklin was an outstanding server, waiting in a crowded area for 20 minutes after the time we reserved a table wasn't ideal. I've had a better experience in Reston, but they only do brunches on Sundays. Saturdays is ideal
We love the food, and have always had very good service experiences.
The two things preventing the full five stars is the noise level in the Tysons location and the beer selection.
The acoustics are probably good for young singletons looking for an "energetic" environment. But for families and adults hoping to engage in table-wide conversation, it can be downright unpleasant depending on the where you're seated.
Oddly, they only have domestic beers and they all seem to be small producers (probably the point but not always the preferred choice.)
Overall, it's still well worth the visit, and we'll continue to be regular patrons.
We chose Founding Farmers for a family night out because we had been wanting to try for some time. While they don't have a dedicated kids menu, the menu is varied enough that we were able to find something for both of our kids to enjoy. The service was friendly and accommodating, the atmosphere is inviting, and the food was wonderful. The Jefferson Donut is not to be missed!
Great food, warm atmosphere and excellent service. We would definitely go again when in town.
A bit too loud
It was great
Hi JohnN: THANK YOU! Much appreciated and we hope to have you back soon. :) -Amy
Food and service were top notch. Highly recommend!
Hi CJV1: Thank you! We really appreciate your wonderful review, kind recommendation and already look forward to having you back soon. :) -Amy
One of the greatest restaurants I have ever been too. Also a great atmosphere.
Took my husband to a veterans day lunch. It was overall a good experience. We’re new to the area and saw their Veterans Day deal so we tried it. Full price would have been expensive for the spread provided, but I know cooking for a massive slew of people on a big day is probably not as good as the standard day. Will definitely go back.
Good selection on the brunch, food was very good. Service was not that good, especially when the server only really dealt with bringing drinks, one of which she forgot altogether. Sort of a lackluster attitude, didn’t seem really into the job at all. Great military discount which we were able to take advantage of.
The food and service is always good.
Hi Misnick: Thank you so much for your ALL STAR 5-STAR review! :D We appreciate it and hope to have you back soon. -Amy
Veterans Day - Thanks for what you do for Veterans!
Bartender didn't know how to make an Old Fashioned . . both times he got it wrong and each were both different than the previous drink. Sad.
So disappointed. Food was ok, service so so. Level compared to last time I was there is definitely poor.
Not planning to return. Noisy, no care
This is new favorite brunch spot.. only downfall is thr waiting time to get seated other than that i love the place..
Hi FarayiJ: Thank you for your review and I am so sorry for the wait to be seated! Duly noted on the wait at times during brunch, and our Management Team will surely look into this before service this wknd. This said, we hope to have you back soon and call us at 703-442-8783 for any reservation help needed. -Amy
I love the Sunday brunch! Everything, yes, everything is delicious! Thank you for the birthday wishes, too!
Great food, attentive servers, wonderful experience.
I love the founding farmers in DC (as well as the other locations in DC) and have frequented them quite regularly. This location is lovely and the staff was efficient and friendly. The food, however, was just not as good. The meatloaf is one of my all time favorites and it was overcooked here.... every time I have had it in DC it has been perfect. The fried chicken and apps we ordered were ok. The apple pie dessert was wonderful. Given the prices, I would not come back to this location.
Hi TiffanyK: Thank you for your feedback and I am super sorry the meatloaf was over-cooked at this location. :( I also apologize overall, the food (with the exception of the Apple Pie) was just not as good and would love the chance to touch base & hopefully turn around the outcome of your experience. I will be sending you a DM with my email address. -Amy
Great food and service! We were looking for something satisfying but not overly filling, and the vegetarian options were wonderful.
After hearing so many rave reviews about this place our family decided to try it. The chicken pot pie was so runny it was more like a watered down soup. The fish portion of the fish and chips was good but the fries were so overcooked that they would literally break your teeth. Did not try the chips in the basket. The two people who ordered meatloaf were disappointed. Said it was extremely bland and “unusual.” We also ordered biscuits as an appetizer. The biscuits were nothing to write home about. And I’m sorry but To send out a tiny little container with just a dollop of jam and another container with one dollop of butter is ridiculous. Four biscuits required more than one little tablespoon of butter. And don’t order an alcoholic beverage. My jack and ginger was 99% Ginger ale and 1% Jack Daniels. I have the photos to prove it. In all honesty, we could’ve gotten a better meal at cheesecake factory
Hi JoyA: I am very sorry the CPP, side FF & Meatloaf all fell short in preparation. I am also sorry the butter with the biscuits, and our Founding Spirits American Whiskey with our Scratch Ginger Soda also left something to be desired. :( I would love the chance to follow up on your feedback from this visit to hopefully turn around the disappointment you left with. This said, I will send you a personal note with my contact info. -Amy
I heard so many great things about Founding Fathers I recommended that my sisters & I brunch there this past Saturday. We were definitely not disappointed. Everything from the food, ambience & service was perfect. We’ll definitely be back.
Long wait despite having a reservation, but food was delicious. Like the offerings at this location more than the Reston restaurant. Servers and overall service was great. Need bottomlesss mimosas!!
Fantastic food selection on the weekend brunch buffet. They get very busy so I recommend making a reservation. Don't expect attentive service during the buffet. But again the food is amazing!!
Excellent food and outstanding service. Great menu with a lot of variety.
It was great!!

The noise level made it very difficult to have a conversation (even after we were moved to a marginally “better” table). The tomato soup was not good and my friend only had 2-3 spoonfuls. The tuna on top of the salad was a very small portion and the dish would have been easier to eat w a spoon. The selection of beer was quite limited; had to pick something outside of the most popular pale ales and was not very good.
I had high expectations as I had dined at the downtown location 2 years ago. We sat at the bar for 10 minutes without getting a drink or placing a drink order. Similar delay once we were seated at a table. Food was meh 2 burgers and fish special. The mashed potatoes were good though.
We LOVE FF and visit fairly regularly. But this was the first time we were disappointed with the quality of our desserts. Both the Jefferson donuts and Macarons were not to the level they have been in the past-dry and stale. Tasted like they were day old. And there were only 1 flavor of donuts and 2 flavors of macarons which is not normal. Not even flavors mentioned on the menus.
Kind of disappointing for our anniversary celebration.
The drinks and the desserts where very good. The food however seems very simple for such an upscale location. The plating was very basic and the flavors were not outstanding considering the price. The portion size was good though.
5 stars to the pastry team though!
Took my team here for a celebration dinner after winning a major National Intelligence Award. Although a tad expensive (most were military enlisted), the food was good. Was nice to have validated parking garage next door. We ordered a myriad of appetizers, drinks and dishes. Everyone shared so that we could taste everything. Overall, everyone was happy with the food and drinks. The wait staff was FANTASTIC!
The staff was friendly and attentive. We had trout and a filet. The trout was outstanding and the filet was average. Enjoyed the atmosphere. We will definitely come again.
