Skip the prime rib. The service. and the drinks were great, but the food was mediocre at best
This is the 2nd time i went to founding farmers in 1 week. I have bad experience both times. This time the person didnt get food on time and missed like orders. We ordered like fries , soda and some salad and he got only the salad and didnt get the other stuff. When I asked the server he is like he just placed the order after he got all the other orders. He didnt even give us the Soda till he gave the bill. This is like the worst experience I have had. I would not recommend this place to anyone

Having previously been to Founding Farmers in DC and Reston, I had certain expectations. Unfortunately, my expectations were not met. We were seated in an upper area and the lighting was so poor, I couldn't read the menu. I ordered the fried chicken salad and it was unlike I'd had before. The piece of chicken was served whole rather than sliced. The size of the salad, my companion's chia bowl, and my husband's scallops were small relative to the the price. Our waitress was quite patronizing and we all left disappointed with the entire experience (other than the warm greeting given by Ali (Albanian) who seated us).
The service was strong, our waitress was friendly and attentive, the food was served quickly. Our mixed drinks were delicious (cosmo and martinis) and the atmosphere while open was not too loud. We were not as thrilled with our dishes. Three of us had rockfish on salad. Nothing special, in fact, friends had told us to expect leftovers, as the portion sizes were huge! Not so with the fish dishes. or the risotto. No bread offered or served with either dish. One salad bowl was topped with two very small filet pieces; we actually laughed. Why the tiny pieces? It's not imported Chilian sea bass. The risotto dish had no description at all and we decided the combination of risotto and marinara was not to our liking. Our Keto diet friends panned dessert but we shared some delicious sea salt caramel ice cream with a shot of cold brew.
Next time we will stick to fried chicken or grilled cheese.

This restaurant is fabulous! We had a great table and our waiter was very attentive. The menu is SO fun with lots of options, I just need to branch out as I always get the same thing which I love! My niece got the fried chicken with the donut and Mac ‘n cheese- oh boy was the presentation AMAZING and it was really yummy!!
The food is a better quality at the Tyson’s location. There were no passed food selections as well.
It was an excellent dining experience. Although things got a bit behind, we sat down 20-25 minutes after the time of our reservation and the staff took care of us after that. Food was great, drinks were good and I got so distracted I left my hat behind, so I'll be back minimally for that!
I had to wait for 45 min even after making a reservation. I was sitting for like 20-30 min for the server to come and take our order. I was waiting to 30 min for 2 drinks and it was like it went to bad to worse. I like the ambiance but people need to know they definitely need to wait for sure
Food was too salty and too many ingredients rolled into each dish. Need to simplify. One easy “special” order (just remove peppers) took 15 extra minutes. FF going downhill from where it started.
We had terrible service! Had to wait 15mins for our first drink and we were rushed the whole time! Won't recommend and will never go back!
I heard that FF is great when it comes to Breakfast/Brunch, but when it came to Dinner, I was a little disappointed. They were busier when we went and so I totally understand any waiting that happened. After considering everything that we experienced, the main thing that brought my rating down was the food. I guess I just expected more being that I had heard good things about FF and that it’s not very cheap. The menu had a lot on it but not many options felt unique to FF. Also the menu had VERY LITTLE details about the food and we had to ask our waitress for about 6 different ones before we even ordered. My wife and I both got a type of burger (I got the avocado one, and my wife got the grilled cheese melt burger). My burger was kinda plain and the onions in it were overwhelming the burger. It didn’t have much sauces at all and the fries that came with it were a little dry. My wife’s Burger had 2 grilled cheese on either side of the burger and those grilled cheese were pretty disappointing.
I don’t know if I would recommend FF to a friend yet, because I want to see if their breakfast lives up to what everyone says it is. If it does then I would recommend only the breakfast. When it comes to Dinner, I would not.
Great food and service. Had a great time. Wish they would have done something for my wife's birthday. Oh well
Our waitress Alba seemed “checked out” and wasn’t knowledgeable on the menu. She got two menu items wrong that we asked about before ordering which made the meal less enjoyable. Corn bread and donuts were excellent but main entree were so-so bc of her misleading information.
We came early during brunch time and could not order any snacks while waiting at the bar. It was either order brunch or wait for your table reservation at 2pm when we could order from the menu. The bar needs to have the option to order some snacks or appetizers. I had to go to Starbucks and bring back a snack while I waited at the bar.
Probably the best brunch buffet to be had in the DMV! Three words: creme. brûlée. donuts. Everyting was top notch, although I never did see any of the advertised passed bites.... (and I was looking forward to a candied bacon lollipop!)
Best part? Kids under 6 are free, so a good option for our family. Highly recommend.
Whenever we went to get food, some things were empty. Do I thought I paid too much for what I got!
We normally go to the Founding Farmers in KOP, PA however while visiting friends in Alexandria,VA we made reservations for our family. The service was excellent, food is always excellent, and our server was very attentive and patient (we had my senior parents with us). The Reston location had vallet parking which is very convenient and the location was also nice for pictures.
Our service was not great - very inattentive or understaffed, not sure. Food was good but pricey.
Probably the best meal I've had out in my lifetime.
The food at Founding Farmers never disappoints! And the ambiance at this location is far superior to the Tysons one. I think the entryway is nicer and it is carpeted so it is much quieter and less echoy. of course, it is expensive, but the farm-to-table and organic high-quality food makes that understandable. Giving low stars for service just because the host was very rude and unfriendly. Server was great though.
The service was fairly slow. Our drinks took a long time to arrive and my food was very salty. The server was friendly though and the ambiance was pleasant.
Great food but service was slow! Waited at least 10 minutes for drinks. Ordered appetizers and asked for more butter for the bread but never got it. Saw 4 different people during the visit. The entrees were great so we would be willing to give it another shot but service could be better.
The parking was horrible, drinks were good, and service was great.
The Cedar plank salmon dish was spectacular; even the sides!

Minutes and it was cold. Service was mediocre but enthusiastic. Coffee, no refill. All quite expensive and not delicious. Disappointing!
Perfect as usual — thanks a lot for accommodating so many of us in split tables without a fee. Please keep it up and we will keep coming!!
The rockfish and vegetables were excellent. David is a great waiter. Very enjoyable.
We went for an early lunch - the food was good and the service friendly.
I am a frequent visitor to this location but sadly I’ve expletive the worst when it comes to my main course meal. The appetizers and drinks are always spot on. So far I’ve tried many items on the menu and each time just gets worse and worse in flavor and quality. Very disappointed.
We went to their Sunday brunch buffet. The fried chicken and Mac n cheese were the best but for $32 per adult, I was looking for more items. They only had one seafood dish which was salmon and kept running out. They did have pretty good brisket which was part of the carving station. Definitely kept running out of foods items including ice cream. Our server seemed overwhelmed and was hardly around. Overall it was ok and kids eat for free.
The host who you check in with wAs so rude!!! No eye contact at all. She was looking down on her seats assignment sheet the whole time she was talking to me.... If u don’t like working on Sundays, work elsewhere
$36 is a lot for a brunch buffet, and unfortunately most of the food was only warm. Nice variety tho. An omelette station or some kind of baked egg dish would be a nice addition. The to order Benedict Florentine was good, and the noise level was acceptable.
The food and experience was wonderful! I definitely plan to return soon.
I gave the over all value a 2 was, the cost of 2 Makes Mark was $37.50 I could have bought a WHOLE Fifth (bottle) for less then the drinks. I understand making money but good god I paid for half the bottle with 1 drink.
We wanted to enjoy it, it was our 12th anniversary, and we had heard some good things; but we did not really have a good time here.
The welcome was good, the host very accommodating.
The food was just above ok, my steak was very good, my wife's was barely mediocre - little to no salt and bland, plus a touch over cooked for rib eye.
The service, however, was just bad. Our server was very slow, so much so that we had to ask another server for things as ours was never around. Just getting a box for our left overs took 15 minutes - when the boxes were kept no more than 20 feet from our table - it would have been quicker if I'd just got it myself! This really ruined the experience for us overall; we will very likely not be coming back again.
I found the entrees very fresh and prepared well. Service was good. The problem that interfered with my experience was that i was sitting in booth upstairs with the speaker directly above my head, only a few feet away. Poor placement. Also being against a wall meant that the voices from The booth behind us hit the wall behind my seat bounced back and echoed loudly which was painful and annoying as that customer spoke continuously. If i was to visit again i would make sure that i was not seated in that particular table.
Food took forever. We had 3 children under the age of 6, as well as a person with diabetes. Server was informed and aware of all of this, though food took over an hour to arrive following order (with server not taking dinner orders until after appetizers were consumed). Food was fine, but nothing I could not make at home equally well. I will not be returning.
Very welcoming place , perfect lighting and ambience was pleasant too. Food is good with lot of choices for Vegetarians. Ample parking space and valet also available. Food was very fresh..
