This was a missmatch for my group. We had gone to the original FF in DC when it was about the food and distinctively good. Most of the food wasn't bad, just nothing special. Culinary heights were the shrimp and grits, cornbread, and the poke salad. They were all very good. The spicy deviled eggs were the blandest we'd ever experienced. Waiter was well meaning but distracted. Space is very big and dark and very noisy which seems to be a trend. My advice to potential diners is: Don't bother. Eat at Silver Diner and pocket the 40% you'll save on the bill.

Booked a table for 8 for a slow Monday evening. Food was good. The main issue was with the drinks. Every drink took upward of 15 minutes solid. Even Old Fashioned took them more than 15 mins. Apparently one of the bar attender was off since he got his finger few days back. Founding Farmers was known for bad Service and I was hoping for a better one this time. Rest of my team was vindicated, they warned me not to go with Founding Farmers. Food was good though.

The server was nice and tried to be attentive but it took for ever. We were seated around 6:30 but did not get out until after 9 pm. Usually that would not be a problem but we had two kids 3 yo and under. It seemed like the kitchen was having "issues". A table behind us, who were seated after us, were served and out almost an hour before we were out. I'm not looking for fast food but it did take way too long considering we had little kids with us.

Between the fun food choices (get the Whirly Pop Kettle Corn appetizer for the table!) and the scratch made drinks (get the passion fruit vanilla soda if it’s in season), you cannot go wrong here. There is something delicious and fresh for everyone. The service and peppy ambience are fantastic too.

Very busy Friday night. Wait staff was friendly but seemed disorganized with a lot of running back and forth when it seems trips might have been consolidated. Food was decent, my husband loved the trout and who wouldn't love that fried chicken! But it all would have been much more delicious if it had been warmer.
Your restaurant is trendy and stylish with good food offered at not terrible prices. Just a little more attention to detail will really enhance this dining experience.

We came to Founding Farmers because that is where my son requested to go for his 16th birthday. Our waiter was friendly and helpful - very knowledgeable about the menu items with every question we asked. The food was excellent - some stuff definitely needed some more seasoning (kind of bland). Overall, it was a very enjoyable time. Service was great. Food was really good! Great experience!

Have been to this restaurant several times, especially for brunch. It's really great, and I've given super high reviews in the past, especially for that fantastic weekend brunch (we've been several times for special occasions).

This time, the service, table, setting, everything 'around' the meal was predictably top notch. The food itself was below the standard expected and price paid. Our party (visitors from out of town) of 6 didn't say anything, but I noticed portions of their meal went uneaten. My meal was great so I was a little surprised. But pasta was tough, and came at room temp. Salads were small and slightly wilted, soaked in the dressing. When I asked our friends, a few others said the food wasn't hot, the fried chicken was dry/overcooked, and several noted way too salty.

Hope this is helpful, and also noting that we probably should have said something at the time, rather than write a review. But, FF has rec'd so many accolades over the years, hope they can revive that reputation, and that our experience with the quality of the food that evening was just an aberration.

We won't let this one experience dissuade us from returning though. This is a very cool restaurant, and we still recommend it.

Food was delicious but service was a little uneven. The food variety and uniqueness of the dishes is great so no complaints on the menu. I had the brisket melt and it was delicious and the rest of my party was all vegetarian and they were all very satisfied with the variety of dishes they could choose from.

Service though was a bit uneven. I made a lunch reservation for my team of 10 people. Upon arriving we waited nearly 20 minutes past our reservation time and watched several other parties get seated before us. After being seated we were presented with menus and water but were not asked if anyone wanted to order drinks. There was no bread or other little bits to nibble on while we waited as I would have expected at a higher end restaurant. The waiter came back a little while later and took our orders and it felt like a lifetime before the food arrived. Thankfully the food was delicious, though the portions a little sparse.

All in all, the food was good enough that I would give them another chance and hope the service is a little more attentive next time.

I love the food at Founding Farmers and the waiter was fantastic but for some reason they do not list their beers on the menu. They have a separate beer menu that you have to ask for. When I sit down I expect to have all of the menus and I don’t like having to ask for a beer menu. Either have them on the tables already or bring one with the food menu when we are seated.

Buffet food was sub par, spicy fried chicken had no seasoning at all, not even salt, the "french toast" were bricks of deep fried bread and the eggs benedict did not come out for 40 minutes and was inedible with sauce that had gone bad.

The setup was great but the food on the Saturday brunch buffet was lacking. The french toast, the donuts, the grits, and many other foods were HARD. I explained this to my server and she mentioned that many people had already complained. I'm not sure why something wasn't done. I won't be visiting this location again.

FF sets a medium bar and flops over it. The food just isn’t that memorable. It’s never BAD, it’s just okay. The noise level is almost deafening. We had the following entrees: chicken pot pie — good but not worth crowing about. Short ribs crusted in sugar and too salty. Chicken fried steak - needs a ton of gravy for flavor. Seafood stew — good but lots of mussels, few shrimp and a bit of fish. Overpriced. The one redeeming feature of FF is a decent wine list fairly priced.

Experience was not good from the beginning. The waiter approached us and told us it had been a long day and he was exhausted. Well his service reflected his exhaustion. We asked if the risotto was gluten free, he paused, clearly guessing, says no. Not something he should be guessing on. Food was bland and flavorless, I had the shrimp and grits, and other guest had scallops with risotto dish. For dessert, we had mint chip icecream, did not taste like mint chip, we asked the waiter if we had the right ice cream he said yes, we told hin it did not taste like it, he again said it was right and walked away, not offering replacement or another choice. We will not be going back.

Seated immediately upon arrival which was nice . Server had knowledge of menu but was a bit inattentive. Bar beverages, draft beer and bottle cider , were warm. Good was good , unique qualities which were some good and some not so good. Time to prepare food seemed much to long. Two ordered ice cream which they did not care for at all. Cost ( with tip) was over $50 per person , value was not there for this dinner.

Our initial server Kevin was terrific, however he went home since we were there between lunch and dinner. The service level went down hill as his replacement was not attentive. The food is great but for the price I think the staff were lacking in friendliness and courtesy. It was my first time here and when I walked in both hostesses completely disregarded me a simple “Hi, we’ll be with you in a moment” would’ve worked since there wasn’t anyone else standing there. When I was seated I would’ve liked for someone to explain how brunch worked where the buffet was located or if I could order additional things from a separate menu(I did ask the host who seated us that it was our first time here and his response was vague). And lastly, it would’ve been nice if someone gave a courtesy reminder about getting the parking ticket validated by the hostess instead of paying for the garage parking.

Trendy place with a copious brunch. Note that every dessert item is vastly OVER-SWEETENED. The rest of the food is decent enough.
Had mentioned in the reservation that it was my wife's birthday. Mentioned it also to the greeter who took us to our table. Also mentioned it to our waitress. And yet.... not a squeak from anyone in the restaurant of any sort of well-wishes to my wife. I noticed that other tables were treated differently, with nice presentations of a symbolic doughnut and some candles on a tray with HAPPY BIRTHDAY written on it in chocolate sauce script. But us... nothing. zippo. zilch
Overall a disappointing experience and I ask myself what would possibly be the motivation to return?

The restaurant was nicely decorated and the host was pleasant. Our waiter was new but did a great job. Everything was great except for the drinks. I ordered a lemon drop martini that came in a very small glass and had some type of sour mix in it. For $14 I expected a real martini glass and a real lemon drop martini. My friend's margarita was 90% ice and 10% drink. The mix used was not correct for his drink either. I'll go back for the food but won't be ordering any drinks ever again. A total waste of money.
