Founding Farmers - Montgomery County
I was part of a group of 9 who was there for a baby shower breakfast for a co-worker. The food was wonderful and the atmosphere perfect.

food was great... service was great as well. Brunch would be great if you could add more drink specials for mimosas or bellinis.
A few months ago I remember the food being fresh, and tasteful.
I am hesitant to recommend Founding Farmers, because my experience at the DC and MOCO locations have deteriorated over the years. It appears as if the restaurants do not have enough staff to support patrons. The hostess and waitress were great. However, we had to get our own napkins and silverware from an employee. The waitress was really nice, but was very busy. There was a woman talking with customers and assisting, but we were unable to “flag” her down for assistance.
My experiences during lunch at MOCO are totally different, the waitors are very responsive. Again, this is not a slight against the waitress, but management. Both locations need improvements with customer service and delagating enough staff to tend to customers.
We went for a birthday which they confirmed when we check in with the hostess and she gave a red card to the waiter but we never heard anything else about.
We went for a 50 th birthday and it was a shame

The food was delicious. The best thing about the whole meal was their cheesecake. The crust is buttery, cake is rich, and the raspberry sauce is amazing!!!
Food was great. Service was horrible, waitress was super rude and never came to the table to ask if we needed anything else.

I would recommend it with a caveat - go for the food - not the vibe. Food was excellent - tasty and well presented; service from our server was outstanding but the atmosphere - seated in the mezzanine dining area - leaves much to be desired. It felt like eating in school cafeteria. All the liveliness seemed happening downstairs and nothing upstairs - just tables and a view of the ceiling. This area is just a grab to get more paying customers seated. My recommendation is ask for table on the main level.

We had been to Founding Farmers before, so we expected all the great choices for foodies. But both dishes my wife and I had were new to the menu or at least new from the last time we visited. We began with some all time favs - corn bread and deviled eggs w/ prosciutto. My wife had the fried chicken and it was delish with real collard greens - yumm! I had the crab cake and fried chicken with broccolini and a chilled cucumber salad - big chunks of lump crab meat and both sides were unique and tasty. The only reason for the fours stars for ambiance was the high level of noise and the wait for a table. I expect noise there but it was really rocking - kids screaming/crying, larger groups really, really enjoying themselves. We had a 7:15 reservation yet, did not get seated until a few minutes past 7:30. The waiting area at this location (Rockville) is very, very small anf folks were not getting seated quickly, so the crod was growing in size and loosing patience. Yet, overall we loved the experience, just as have every time we've dined at a Founding Farmers.
The only thing keeping this from 5 stars is the noise level. Tyler was an excellent server and the food is always great.
I am always disappointed with something from Founding Farmers. Usually the breakfast is good but today it was just okay. They charge you $4.50 for a cup of decaf and it’s awful. The ham was bland and fatty. I do not recommend this place

Delicious as usual. Got an order of biscuits to bring back to NY. Their Arnold Palmer is unbeatable. Worth the visit, every time.

Came for breakfast and it was amazing! I was even surprised to see that the english muffin was homemade. The portions were great. Service was great too. My guest and I enjoyed EVERYTHING!
Sat on the patio. Took about 10 minutes to be greeted by the server and get water. By the time our server got to us; we knew our order and drinks. The drinks came out just about a minute before our food. We only had 1 set of silverware also. The food was ok. Chicken and waffles were on. The chicken tenders were extremely small and waffle wasn’t hot when served. The avocado toast was not toast but soft bread. Should’ve been called a sandwich. Our server was extremely nice but never did a quality check after food was delivered until we were finished. Overall, we give 3 stars and it could be that the restaurant was just not prepared for Labor Day rush.

extremely poor service. waited 40 minutes for our food. I think the waiter forgot to put our order in. also loud small children
Horrible service. Ordered drinks and came at the end. Coffee was too cold.
The food is delicious although my husband did not like the Spinach Enchilada. Everyone else enjoyed their meal. Mackenzie was a good server.
Always good; food is consistent and they offer a great variety. Wait staff is friendly and accommodating.

We were celebrating my mom’s and sister-in-law‘s birthday. The food was excellent! The service was great, and the atmosphere was perfect! I have been to Founding Farmers before, the others had not. Everyone enjoyed the experience!

I really used to love Founding Farmers but recently something has changed and for me it appears tore the food. It is honestly taken a downturn and is just average at best. I recently ate at Founding Farmers Georgetown and MOCO locations and was just very disappointed in the food. Nothing like it used to be. Service was solid as always but just an unsatisfactory experience on the food. I feel like the love that was once there with the food is now gone.
We loved eating on the patio and the food was very good.

We always enjoy the excellent meat dishes at Founding Farmers and this time we had a couple of vegetarians in our group, so we were a little concerned about whether they would find something to interest them. They not only found something, but the cauliflower steak as a huge hit. And we all enjoyed our selections.
Founding Farmers was special. Our waiter Emily was super, timing the dishes just right. Their corn bread was unique with lots of corn kernels. I started with the Ahi Tuna Bites and my partner had Gazpacho. Both were off the chart. Then I had scallops with risotto while my partner had a crazy corn salad with real popcorn in it. Excellent. I recommend Founding Farmers highly.
We were looking for a restaurant in the Rockville area that we hadn’t tried before. The food was very good and the service was excellent. We plan on returning in the near future.
Lunch outdoors in beautiful weather. Service was very good, but not spectacular.
Meal and ambience were good but the overall experience was poor because of the staff’s lack of attention to repeated instruction in both the reservation and then again at checkin with host for separate checks for this business meal. I even spoke with the manager Chris about the lack of attention by all staff despite the repeated customer requests. Chris said it was the host fault but I place responsibility on the management and their training and oversight for these things with their staff.
Great food! Always enjoy our meals here especially brunch!!

They were out of fish other than salmon at 3 in the afternoon! Had to order something else and what I ordered didn’t really enjoy.
The food was great, the restaurant ambiance was very comfy and stylish, but the noise level was very loud. We were there on a Sunday afternoon around 1pm and it was very busy. As a result, the service was really slow and it took a long time to order and get our food & drinks. When the drinks finally came out, the cappuccino I ordered was cold. Our server did get me another one, but I had to remind her and it came out at the end of the meal. When the bill came, I got charged for two and had to get one removed.
I would go again, but not on a Sunday.
Had the opportunity to sit outside on a rare pleasant DC Sunday afternoon. Service was great but the quality of the food has diminished over the last few months.
My Eggs Benedict arrived with very little hollandaise sauce and the poached eggs were watery. Surprising the ham was also very dry and the dish lacked any real flavor.
The deviled eggs were also runny and used too much salt and onion. The Bananas Foster pancakes came out with 2 small slices of banana and the syrup was runny. A friends accompanying biscuit was hard as a rock and not edible.
I have noticed the quality of the food has slipped over the past 5 months but unsure of why. Still a great location and great staff, but I will have to rethink visiting in the future until food quality returns to their normal standards.

The service was horrible. Our waiter was nice but too busy to check on us. We waited to get dessert menus and then waited 20 minutes for an espresso that we no longer wanted and then the manager got huffy when we didn’t want it. Apparently the machine was broken but they hadn’t told their team. I have been going to FF for years but after this horrible experience not likely to go back for a while. Their team doesn’t get it.
