Very fun night out with the lady. Michael was our server, kept the drinks rolling, good man. Would go again.
Really cozy set up outside. Was not cold at all with heaters and the tent. Food was good.
There were 3 -60 pound dogs in the tent with 3 screaming 8 year olds. The waiters fed the dogs! I will never come back.
Due to Covid, we sat outdoors in a well ventilated group tent. There were heaters.
The food, service, and overall atmosphere was amazing! While we had to sit outside due to Covid we were seated in a warm tent. I loved the experience and definitely will be dining again soon.
The restaurant only had outdoor seating but because of poor planning, didn't have propane for the heaters! We were absolutely freezing and raced through our meal - because the food got cold quickly too. They had one fireplace at the end which was more decorative than useful. Won't be back until they fix the heaters or until the weather is warm. A real shame because we eat there all the time and the food and staff are lovely.
Hi PrettyRicki: I am so so sorry to read this! I feel beyond terrible you were freezing and sincerely apologize we dropped the ball this time. :( That said, I'd love to connect with you and do my best to find a solution to turn around your disappointment with this visit. I will send you a DM with my email address. -Amy
Food was great but due to COVID restrictions only outdoor dining, it was a bit cold due to lack of heaters. But worth it!!
Outside dining. The heaters never worked. So cold
Booked a table in the indoor tent with heating ahead of time. After arriving at the restaurant was told a seat inside the tent was not available and was given an outdoor table with a broken heat lamp in 35 degree weather. Poor experience, service was lacking and I was freezing.
Oh gosh- I am beyond sorry for the lack of accommodation, poor service and overall, uncomfortable experience you had with us. :( I would love to touch base and hopefully make this up to you! I will send you a DM with my contact info to continue this conversation. -Amy
Great food as always.
Thank you, Gina!! We really appreciate it and hope to have you back again soon. :) -Amy
Founding Farmers is STILL a great restaurant to visit - even during the Draconian limitations being put upon restaurants in Montgomery County during the Covid 'crisis'. They have a lovely tent and great heating systems set up. It was pouring down rain during our Christmas Eve dinner - but the experience was just fun! Food excellent as always! Divine cocktails.... nice evening!
Great service.
They shut down all indoor dining in Montgomery county so we sat outside and it was nice and toasty with the very warm heater is an enclosed with a tent so I highly recommend this restaurant even when it’s freezing cold outside.
The food was good, was totally disrupted by a “dog”, next to us while trying to eat. It really bothered my allergies. I did not know that the restaurant allows dogs. Very disappointing.
Hi Sydney: I am super sorry for the disruptive "dog" that was nearby. We do allow well-behaved, leased dogs on our patio and service dogs inside our dining room. That said, I would love to gather some more info from your review- where were you seated and did you alert our team to your allergy- if you did, I feel awful we didn't relocate you! I want to make sure we learn from our mistakes with your experience this time and make this right! I will send you a DM to connect further. -Amy
Sitting outside was very cold even with the space heaters. The restaurant wasn’t very busy, but our food still took awhile and a burger order was not cooked properly!
Oh no! I am so so sorry the ambiance, service and food all fell short this time. :( I would love to turn this around, and will send you a follow up note with my contact info. Thank you for letting us know these details and I hope to be in touch soon! -Amy
Fri Dec 18, 6:45pm temps 33 degrees feeling 29 ambient air temperature. Single reservation.
The hostess escorted me outside to the right away from the cover tent and seated me in an exposed, unseated table at the end of human existence. Sending a strong message to seat him out of the way. She seated several customers that came in after me in the tent. There was on other party of two seated outside in my area with a dedicated heat lamp, shaded to reflect the heat directly on them. The waiter took my order, the hostess escorted other patrons to the tent and would glance over at me and kept walking. After 20 minutes of exposure I got up, went inside and asked for my waiter. I told him to box my food and settle my tab. I told him it is too cold and no heat was provided for accommodation. I told him it was very inconsiderate of the hostess to seat ANYONE in a spot like that with no regard to their well-being. She knew there was no heat at that table.
I guess the waiter informed the Manager because she came over to speak with me. She listened and I had to stop her as she started justifying the hostess’ poor decision to seat anyone as thoughtless as she did using COVID-19 as an excuse. I told he’s that COVID has nothing to do with providing heat and ensuring your customers are accommodated within reason. She said I should have ask for a heater. She also offered to seat me in the tent.
1) that should have been the first place I was seated, not dropped in a corner convenient for her. (And there were seats available in the tent because I watched her seat subsequent parties there).
2) Why should a guest have to ask you for heat? It’s 29 degrees and an uncovered exposed area. You should be taking the initiative to ensure your guests have reasonable accommodations. What is worse is you didn’t take a moment to ask “are you ok, is this ok”? “Let me move a heat lamp Over”. That is just a matter of being considerate of others. She really could have cared less
Oh goodness. Derrek, I am beyond sorry for the disappointing accommodation and lack of consideration encountered with my teammates at our Potomac FF location. :( This was in poor taste and again, my apologies we left you completely dissatisfied with the outcome of this experience. With this said, I would love the chance to follow up and do my best to make this right. I will send you a DM with my email address to hopefully continue this conversation. -Amy
Nice varied menu with consistent quality throughout. Tented dining was great in the main are with the fire pit. Mixed drinks were not great however and seemed overpriced, but perhaps that is just my view. Service was better than average.
The outdoor setting was pretty but heat lamps were out of gas, service was slow, food was barely mediocre and bill was high. Terrible experience all around. Will not return.
Went for Sunday brunch. Had a reservation for outdoor dining but they were backed up and we choose indoor. We felt comfortable with the spacing at tables. The wait service was great. Our orders were correct and they made sure we had want we needed/wanted. The food was excellent. We had the chicken and waffles, Virginia and Cheddar scramble , the mushroom, spinach scramble with eggs white and the protein breakfast adding French toast. The portions were good. Smaller then the other times we have gone. But we left full and content.
Went for brunch on a Sunday and it was delicious!! Breakfast and lunch options were good and they were very helpful with making some substitutions for picky eaters. Love that everything is made in-house. Be sure to try the beignets!
Thanks Rachel! We appreciate it so much and hope to have you back again soon! :) -Amy
Your portions are small and prices high!

Our server was very attentive and quickly responded to our requests. The food met our expectations.
I went for breakfast with a friend she order the egg whites with avocado toast while half way eating our meal she noticed her eggs had two pieces of hair we sent the food back & got a new plate but even then how can no one noticed pieces of hair in egg whites the banana foster waffles were amazing
Hi Mell: I am super sorry to read that the eggs ordered were not up to par. :( We appreciate you letting us know and I would love the chance to make this right. I will send you a DM with my email address and hope to be in touch soon! -Amy
Super service. Great food. Why aren't there more people here? Cleanest and safest place in town.
Aww! Thank you so much! :) We appreciate you sharing this and wish you a wonderful Holiday Season! -Amy
I love this place. My friend and I had a nice lunch where we could just sit talk. .My favorite go to place.
Catfish was great. Hominy/Corn was outstanding. Service was also great. Thanks ... had a wonderful time.
Our waiter was awesome- we chose to eat outside and it was brisk to say the least. He brought over an extra heater as we were the only ones outside. It made our meal much better. He was also very attentive considering that he had tables both inside and just us outside.
We always love FF food. My go to place for out of towners or just when I want to level up on fine dining. I have been going there for...oh 5yrs and I have not had a bad meal. They are great for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner...if going for Breakfast/Brunch a reso is recommended as they have biscuits that will make you want to slap yo mamma...some one back in that kitchen is putting their pinky toe in those biscuits...and all the food in general!
I was excited to finally go to Founding Farmers in MoCo having had it on my "to do" list for a year now.....but I was disappointed. I Won't go back. Saw food and trash under our table on the floor, messy bathrooms, the entire place felt "off". I understand the Covid changes, and the place was probably understaffed....but I've dined out recently and had better experiences. The place had no ambiance. The was just okay (our table ordered grilled cheese, burgers, and steak) Nothing was outstanding.
Thank you, Hersh for taking the time to share your review with us. We are super sorry for this visit failed to measure up by all counts, and sadly left you not wanting to return. :( We understand your choice based on the many areas we overlooked this time, and I would love to follow up! I will send you a DM with my contact info and hope to be in touch further. -Amy
Food was excellent but service was subpar at best. I was especially surprised to find that they charge an additional "COVID Service Fee" for dining inside. I've not see that anywhere else and I don't think I'll return because of it.
They have a pretty extensive menu and everything I've had there has been very good. They make their own pasta there every day. The fried chicken is great, the steaks are great, the drinks were great. Every time I've dined there, I've been really happy! Highly recommended.
I love Founding Farmers MoCo! I’ve been eating there regularly since COVID because they have taken steps to keep their patrons safe. They have a large outdoor dining area that they’ve now enclosed for the cold weather. The food is exceptional and the service is always great. When I dine there, I’m treated like family. It’s definitely my favorite restaurant in the area! Thank you!
Our server was great. We had dinner chicken and waffles- Delicious
And our drinks were perfect. Thank you
The service was very slow i had asked for over medium eggs they were very runny &
by the time i ordered one replacement i was done eating & paid my check. I made
sure the tip was more then 20%. I love your restaurant hopefully the service will get
better.
I am so sorry the service was slow and the eggs were not as ordered. :( I also feel badly we left you waiting for the replacement and all in all, this visit was not up to expectation. That said, I would love the chance to follow up and turn this around- I will send you a DM with my email address. -Amy
I took my mom here for her birthday with a gift card we had received from the terrible service that we received when we attended the first time. First we were seated at a social distancing table and then had to move. We received dirty dishes and the service was terrible. After paying with the gift card we were told the extra $5 couldn’t be used for tip and we couldn’t have the gift card back. The server never came back to our table to receive tip.
Hi Sarah: Oh gosh! I am very sorry to read this and feel terrible for the disappointing experience you & your Mom had with us- especially when this was a return from a previous poor visit. :( This said, I will send you a follow up message with my contact info to hopefully connect further and turn this all around. -Amy
Love this place so much. one of my favorite restaurants.
