American
MoCo's Founding Farmers is owned by the more than 47,000 family farmers of the NDFU, serving American inspired real food and drink with an emphasis and focus on cooking from scratch. While our restaurant is supplied by hundreds of family farms everywhere, that doesn’t mean we know every farm, and that doesn’t mean we never have to buy product from the traditional (corporate) supply chain, but it does mean we’re working hard to direct our purchasing dollars where it aligns with our values. We’re serving the best food we can, made from scratch in our kitchens every day. Our innovative, American dishes are made primarily with pure ingredients honoring the farmers and their hard-earned bounty. The restaurant is upscale casual, which welcomes business casual dress, and dress that would be appropriate in a nice restaurant; this includes jeans and athletic wear, and warm-weather clothing, including shorts.

First time here. Meet up with my wife and best friend for dinner. I had the Ward Eight cocktail with the balsamic onion black n blue burger. Both were awesome. My only take away that might’ve been a dock on the score was the latke sides were nearly overcooked for what I’ve known them to be, but overall solid.

Founding Farms consistently makes you wait 15-30 past your reservation time to be seated. There needs to be a better system in place for them to seat their patrons closer to the actual time that they accept the reservation.

Had a reservation, table was not ready. Food was cold when served. And I hate the table we sat at, right near the front and lots of people waiting for a table around us. Way to noisy, will not come back.

We showed up at 11:30 am for an 11:30 brunch reservation. But we had to wait 15 or 20 minutes to be seated. This was the second time that has happened to us. The restaurant should do a better job of managing its reservations.

Not nearly as good as your outlet in Tyson’s. Food was warm, not hot. Had a reservation for weeks and was disappointed that we had to sit at an upstairs table so we missed the vibe of the first floor. Will return to Tyson’s, but likely not this Potomac location.

I had an 11:00 reservation, and I was told by the hostess ‘you table is just being cleaned off and when the rest of your party arrives you will be seated’. 5 minutes later I let her know that the rest were there. She then told me ‘unfortunately the table is paying now, you will be seated afterwards’. She dismissed me, was not friendly nor did she even smile! I then asked another hostess and got seated right away. The 1st hostess who dismissed us was a young black female, and I am black so this is NOT a race issue. She was just rude, mean, and didn’t care one bit that I had two toddlers with me. I love this restaurant and it is a shame to have someone so unfriendly and un-welcoming at the hostess stand. It should be noted that I had an 11:00 reservation, but wasn’t seated until after 11:15. Thank you to the nicer hostess with glasses and a short haircut, she was lovely and helpful and seated us right away.

Busier than expected for a Monday meetup with friends. At first felt service was attentive and great at explaining menu options for a first time visitors.

Felt rushed to place order...although flavorful the appetizer was way overcooked (bacon was almost burned). Excellent cornbread, hot, fresh, great crust...THIS WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE MEAL!!! Largeish portions...when order was delivered with only a small amount of gravy I asked server (different from waitress) for more gravy...they never came back even though the request was acknowledged. Finally got waitress attention half-way through the meal and again asked for more gravy. Again acknowledged and again ignored. Green beans were fresh and well prepared...mashed potatoes were not fully cooked, bland, lumpy...main course overcooked and tough. Very disappointing food experience.

And even though the restaurant was half empty by the time we finished our meal, because we did not order coffee or dessert the waitrese came by every minute or so to clear the table-even taking my fresh glass of iced tea before I was finished. It felt like we were being rushed to leave.

Very disappointing first experience abd I am doubtful about creating a second one!

The chicken and waffles was not what I expected. It was almost as if it was from the kid’s menu. The explanation from management was that I ordered the breakfast chicken and waffles and not the lunch version of it. That does not make sense to me as pricing for both was pretty much the same.

Founding Farmers restaurant at this location - is our 'go to' place for brunch! We love it here. The food is always fresh and delicious and the staff is always professional, courteous and friendly. Don't get me wrong - we have dinner here on occasion too - and that meal is also always great with a wide selection and certainly something for everyone. The husband and I are 'breakfast people' though - it is by far our favorite meal out - and Founding Farmers MoCo is by far our favorite place for breakfast!

The chicken cutlet, goat cheese ravioli and butternut squash puree was delicious and portion size was a good value for the price. The sweetened iced tea was tasty and the kale salad with lemon vinaigrette was also delicious.

Founding Farmers is one of our go again and again places because the food and drinks are reliably delicious. The hard part is choosing which one of our favorites to order. At least one of us will have the chicken and waffles and the incredible macaroni and cheese. Their fantastic margaritas go with anything on the menu.
When we arrived for our reservation, a table was ready for us but we noticed a booth available so we asked to be seated at the booth. The hostess stepped up and cleared it right away so we could be seated in our preferred spot. Thanks!! Great service and great food make us loyal customers.

The food was tasty but nothing outstanding. Vegetables had little to no seasoning. Ambience was just ok and a little funky. The best aspect between the four of us was the special Bourbon lemon honey drink that just was refreshing and Fall like. The service d outstanding, many questions were asked by the group and very knowledgeable answers followed.

A reservation is NECESSARY pretty much anytime at Founding Farmers. We were seated 10 minutes after our reservation. Once seated everything was fantastic, tables are turned around quickly yet we didn’t feel rushed. The food is unique and delicious. Manager stopped by twice and there were a lot of families in the packed space but we were not crowded and were able to hold a conversation at a normal volume between one another.

This is a very noisy place. That said, the food is terrific and our waiter, Shon, couldn't have been any better. My chocolate chip pancakes were incredible, and my friend's Banana's Foster waffle was the best waffle she'd ever had.
