American
MoCo's Founding Farmers is owned by the more than 47,000 family farmers of the NDFU, serving American inspired real food and drink with an emphasis and focus on cooking from scratch. While our restaurant is supplied by hundreds of family farms everywhere, that doesn’t mean we know every farm, and that doesn’t mean we never have to buy product from the traditional (corporate) supply chain, but it does mean we’re working hard to direct our purchasing dollars where it aligns with our values. We’re serving the best food we can, made from scratch in our kitchens every day. Our innovative, American dishes are made primarily with pure ingredients honoring the farmers and their hard-earned bounty. The restaurant is upscale casual, which welcomes business casual dress, and dress that would be appropriate in a nice restaurant; this includes jeans and athletic wear, and warm-weather clothing, including shorts.

Founding Farmers restaurant at this location - is our 'go to' place for brunch! We love it here. The food is always fresh and delicious and the staff is always professional, courteous and friendly. Don't get me wrong - we have dinner here on occasion too - and that meal is also always great with a wide selection and certainly something for everyone. The husband and I are 'breakfast people' though - it is by far our favorite meal out - and Founding Farmers MoCo is by far our favorite place for breakfast!

The chicken cutlet, goat cheese ravioli and butternut squash puree was delicious and portion size was a good value for the price. The sweetened iced tea was tasty and the kale salad with lemon vinaigrette was also delicious.

Founding Farmers is one of our go again and again places because the food and drinks are reliably delicious. The hard part is choosing which one of our favorites to order. At least one of us will have the chicken and waffles and the incredible macaroni and cheese. Their fantastic margaritas go with anything on the menu.
When we arrived for our reservation, a table was ready for us but we noticed a booth available so we asked to be seated at the booth. The hostess stepped up and cleared it right away so we could be seated in our preferred spot. Thanks!! Great service and great food make us loyal customers.

Hi Nellie: I am so so sorry to read the Mac & Cheese was served cold and the risotto was not creamy, but dry in consistency. :( I feel terrible for our oversights with these dishes and would love the chance to touch base to hopefully make right the disappointment you left with. I will send you a PM with my email address. -Amy

The food was tasty but nothing outstanding. Vegetables had little to no seasoning. Ambience was just ok and a little funky. The best aspect between the four of us was the special Bourbon lemon honey drink that just was refreshing and Fall like. The service d outstanding, many questions were asked by the group and very knowledgeable answers followed.

A reservation is NECESSARY pretty much anytime at Founding Farmers. We were seated 10 minutes after our reservation. Once seated everything was fantastic, tables are turned around quickly yet we didn’t feel rushed. The food is unique and delicious. Manager stopped by twice and there were a lot of families in the packed space but we were not crowded and were able to hold a conversation at a normal volume between one another.

This is a very noisy place. That said, the food is terrific and our waiter, Shon, couldn't have been any better. My chocolate chip pancakes were incredible, and my friend's Banana's Foster waffle was the best waffle she'd ever had.

This was by far the worst experience I have had at Founding Farmers. This is not the best of your locations. The food was just ok this time and the service was poor. I hope the standard does not go down from your DC it Tyson’s location.

Been here plenty of times. And seems like service and food are going downhill. Waited forever, even though I had a reservation. I get it, brunch.. super busy. However.. no need to rush food or service. Our waitress was more occupied with the other co workers than us. Food was horrible. Definitely won’t be back again.

Our waiter was awesome very attentive friendly and worked with a high sense of urgency. My husband wasn’t too happy to pay $4 for a side of thick bacon, he only got 2 slices that really didn’t look thick. Overall it was great!

We had a nice dinner - but nothing exceptional. The food was "warm" Some of it look like it had been on the line for a little while. Had to specifically request salt and pepper.

Founding Farmers was an excellent restaurant. We were a large wedding party and the food, the staff, and our servers went above all expectations. From the moment we walked in until we left we were treated with great service. Everything was truly wonderful. Thank you all for helping our wedding dinner so memorable.

The food was mediocre, entrees were disappointing, side dishes were mushy and barely warm,
and the beignets were horrible--fried dough, nothing like the New Orleans speciality. Service
was friendly and efficient.

Freezing. We say downstairs, and I had a very cold breeze on the back of my neck the whole time, the back door was open. It only got very slightly better after I complained. Otherwise, food and service were good as usual. Pancakes were enough for any two people, three average people. Impossible burger was awesome.

This restaurant had been recommended by several of our friends for Brunch. Visiting from Boston, we decided to see what all the hype was about. We ordered the biscuits, hangover hash, and chicken and waffles. We also ordered two bourbon drinks, although I can't remember the names of them. The drinks and biscuits came out first. Not only were the biscuits the biggest I had ever seen but they were so delicious. Paired with butter and jam on the side it was the perfect way to start the day. The drinks were also good. Love that they make everything in house, and honestly very impressed. The hangover hash had a nice balance to it and the fried eggs on top made the dish. Chicken and waffle was great, although I would say that having such a small piece of chicken threw me off. That would be my only critique. Overall, I would return and explore the rest of the menu.

Overall, a pleasant experience. Saturday at noon is a very busy time to go, with the noise level high. My Crab Cake Benedict was very tasty and the eggs were perfectly poached. Service was slow, however. Took a long time to get our order taken. One of the orders was incorrect: coleslaw was added to a sandwich when the diner requested it be left off. We had to ask for a coffee refill near the end of the meal. Think this location is understaffed.

Everything was great. And we adored our waiter, Sean. Only thing was someone in our dinner party was served a manhattan drink in a small wine glass. It was tiny... he was pretty disappointed about that.
But overall it was great.
