   If you are looking for a place to catch up with someone for hours over a meal, Founding Farmers is just not the place, especially on a Sunday morning. The restaurant is so full, boisterous with lots of people coming for breakfast/brunch. The waitress was a bit overbearing, cleaning the table and asking if we wanted boxes though we were still eating and drinking. We were hoping to sit and enjoy a few more drinks, but with other waiters in the corner waiting to clean the table, we decided it was best to leave. The food is also alright, nothing spectacular. I recommend the shareable beignets. I don't recommend the grits. The french toast was an interesting texture, deep fried brioche. The breakfast cocktail was good.

   Weekend opportunity to catch up with friends. As always, food was delicious, cocktails yummy, and well-portioned desserts. Service was on-point. Our server, Issac, was friendly and knowlegeable. My only real complaint is that the accoustics are terrible upstairs and thus very noisy.

   Made this reservation for my moms 84th BD and indicated so while making the reservation. We were seated upstairs which was difficult for my mom and guests to go up the stairs. Then sat a table for 4 with an extra chair on the side backing to another diners table. Asked to be moved and we were moved to a nearby booth, one table wobbled and almost spilled a glass of red wine, the table they moved to accommodate us was lower by 2 inches which just made it difficult to put plates down and share. It was so loud we really couldn’t hear one another. The food was slow, it was OK at best, 4 out of the 5 had the fish special and was over cooked on a few of the dishes. Some of the side orders weren’t correct, dinner took almost 2 hours w a 6:30 reservation and just a difficult night.

    Overall, very good. Had a reservation and was seated promptly. For the food quality, I find that the prices are relatively fair. Service was pretty fast for how crowded it tends to be. Servers were a little eager to ask how everything was (like literally right after the plate was put down.). But this is a great go to for a nice meal in a casual atmosphere.

    Thumbs up! First - I am immunecomprosied so I asked on Open Table for a table away from groups and traffic. The hostesses at Founding Farmers surpassed themselves. My niece and I got a quiet upstairs corner booth with plexiglass around it. I always loved their roasted vegetable, avocado,brie sandwish on home made nut bread. My niece loved her vegetarian burger. and fries. Our waiter was not masked but otherwise very corteous and checked back often. I only wish there was a Founding Farmers or similar place closer to us on the eastern side of Mongtomery County.

    Ate their on my birthday. Food was good. A bit pricey but not outrageous. I had the Farmer Platter and my wife the scallops with butternut squash risotto. Both had plenty of food and the food was delicious. For dessert my wife had the hot fudge sundae. She likes chocolate ice cream but forgot to specify that so it came with vanilla. The ice cream was excellent. I had the carrot cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The carrot cake itself was a bit denser than I like and had very few raisins and no walnuts. The frosting was excellent. Gonna have to go a long way to beat The Cheesecake Factory carrot cake.

    FF is off their game. Ignored by check in staff and food service staff was stretched. Food is still great but it’s hard to have 2 hour lunches with 3 staff interactions.

    Our waiter was very kind but my mother in law was upset all of the dessert options were basically gone at 7 on a Sunday night. They did comp her dessert though!

    We ate here for Restaurant week which effectively gave us 3 courses for $40. They easily accommodated our gluten/dairy/egg free family member and we left with lots of leftovers. We will definitely return.

    Overall experience was good. Went for restaurant week on Sunday. We were told we couldn’t do the special for lunch because of brunch. I knew it said brunch was excluded but thought you couldn’t get brunch. We weren’t getting brunch so figured we would be ok. The wording was a little confusing.But we were told we couldn’t.Manager overrides it and allowed us to have lunch special for restaurant week. Thanks!

    We arrived a little early but they seated us right away. I have been to Founding Farmers before and always find it crowded and noisy but the location was convenient for me and my friend. We went for brunch. The restaurant has a good brunch menu but I have had better buttermilk blueberry pancakes at other restaurants and when the waiter brought the side order of bacon it was two scrawny pieces of bacon. When I complained the waiter brought me a bowl of bacon. Seems service from the kitchen is a bit uneven.

    Lots of pros and, sadly a few cons. Despite arriving on time and having reservations for 12:45 pm, they told us that we would have to wait 15 minutes. We did. The place was very crowded with no real waiting area. Once seated, we appreciated our friendly server and the booth with high plexiglass barriers between tables. Now to the food… Favorite entree in our small group was the Seared Scallops with Butternut Squash Risotto. The brisket was okay, though it came just warm, not hot. The two potato latkes that came with it were excellent and naturally held their heat. I liked the two different toppings on them, as well as the fresh green beans. All soft drinks (unlimited refills), including iced tea, were overpriced. The Blue Cheese Dates Wrapped in Bacon were a great starter: tasty, sweet, nicely warm, thick bacon, though not as blue cheesy as we had hoped. We shared the Butterscotch Bread Pudding with Vanilla Sauce for dessert. It took quite some time to arrive. When it did, it was a large serving in a small, hot iron skillet. It was delicious, though the pudding bottom was cool to cold in most places. Would I return? Yes, but not on a Saturday. Although we knew in advance, it was disappointing that their lunchtime Restaurant Week did not start until after 3:00 pm on Saturday. Their excuse was that their Weekend Brunch is a la carte. Honestly, other participating restaurants clearly and fairly indicate if they are participating in Restaurant Week (or not) and for which meals. Founding Farmers might want to revisit their participation. If they are going to participate for lunch, then participate starting at noon, every day, please.

    We went during the restaurant week and I was surprised that despite being completely booked the service was exceptional. The time to deliver drinks and food was completely acceptable. The food was great as usual and the server was happy to make it Togo.

    We had a delicious lunch on January 19. We were inspired by the Washington Restaurant Week promotion and were thrilled to enjoy a 3- course meal for $25 pp. We seldom eat out midday, but it was worth every penny. Delicious food, attentive service and generous portions with enough of most items to take home for another meal.
