Founding Farmers - Montgomery County
While our restaurant is supplied by hundreds of family farms everywhere, that doesn’t mean we know every farm, and that doesn’t mean we never have to buy product from the traditional (corporate) supply chain, but it does mean we’re working hard to direct our purchasing dollars where it aligns with our values.
We’re serving the best food we can, made from scratch in our kitchens every day. Our innovative, American dishes are made primarily with pure ingredients honoring the farmers and their hard-earned bounty.
The restaurant is upscale casual, which welcomes business casual dress, and dress that would be appropriate in a nice restaurant; this includes jeans and athletic wear, and warm-weather clothing, including shorts.
Had a great time! The server was very attentive. I always recommend any of their locations
The food is delicious!!
The food was delicious (Coffee as well). All the staff was very friendly especially Maria that was waiting on us.
Thanks for a great experience - We will be back!
Awesome! Great food!
For a Sunday brunch it was quiet and peaceful upstairs. We enjoyed our drinks, food and service.
Founding Farmers was an excellent dining experience, and I enjoyed the food there.
We had a large group. They did an amazing job of serving us. Everyone loved the food. Founding Farmers was a huge hit.
food and staff was great, will recommend to family and friends
Great place to spend time with friends and family i recommend making a reservation for party over 3 :))
Like his place, it’s food, and the concept for it. Unfortunately, it’s very loud on Friday nights. Waitress was quite detached, probably exhausted.
Sorry to say but we were very disappointed in our food, the very noisy atmosphere and especially the drinks. One guest asked for a glass of pino and was shocked where the charge for 21.00 came...for a single glass of wine!!! We thought all the portions were small and presented in an unappealing manner.
it’s a fine place for a birthday lunch. Good menu, tasty food!
Food was great as always!
The rating definitely fell on this occasion. We were seated promptly which was nice. The server was not attentive to us at all - more interested in the other tables while we waited in every single instance. We had to get his attention as he passed by and he never really stood to explain the menu or ask us what we wanted or to recommend anything. It was evident that he didn’t have the time. We
waited so long for him to come to the table that once he cane and said that he would return with waiter, I ordered the appetizer. Then when I saw him again, passing by, I ordered out food. The chicken which is always good was underwhelming- the soup which was supposed tomato didn’t taste roasted in anyway. This was a miss for us. My mom was visiting and her first time here, but the places that I rave about was subpar.
Thanks for receiving this feedback
Poor management. Could not resolve table complaints and then lied trying to cover their policy
I really enjoy myself at Founding Farmers specially when Taylor checks me in and Maria serves me
Great. The scallops were exquisite. My server was a doll!
Our family is always so satisfied when we leave Founding Farmers. The food is delicious. One of our favorite restaurants!
Great service! Only helpful addition would be more tables to accommodate larger parties. Thanks for a great experience for our Daughter’s Birthday!
Not a great dining experience - very noisy, food was dry and not served hot, service was slow. There was cold air was blowing from the air vents (it was a cold, damp day outside) and we asked the manager if it could be adjusted. He said he would check it but I ended up wearing my coat the entire meal. I've eaten at this location in the past and enjoyed it but I'm not sure I will go back.
Went for Sunday Brunch about 1230. Good crowd. Overwhelming noise. Very good and pricey food. Service good.
Overall was good experience as far as food and service. Although the booth we had was right next to a very loud table. It was very difficult to have a conversation with the yelling next to us. A little too many beverages was my guess.
I love the food, I always get the chicken and waffles. But I hate the homemade drinks. I always get water, however two pitchers of water brought to my table, had things floating in it and the glasses were dirty. So we ended up all using plastic cups, which somewhat took away from the meal.
So crowded on a Saturday for lunch. I probably would avoid this location bc of the noise and the crowd. Even with a reservation I had to wait approximately 15 minutes. Parking was difficult. I'd prefer organically grown local produce but that's just a dream of mine,
Love the oatmeal for breakfast, but the pork breakfast sausage was terrible and served only lukewarm. I should have asked them to take it off the bill. That’s par for the Course with FF, their food is uneven, some of it terrific, some of it ok, and occasionally bad. (Last time I had a maple mustard chicken that had a sauce that tasted like they poured watery syrup all over the chicken, not a hint of mustard flavor). I may be done with FF for a while.
Has amazing chicken and waffles! Delicious as always!
The service would very good, however the food quality was poor
Bad service. Took 15 min for our drinks to come. They were out of 3 things on the menu
Waited 15 minutes for server, who was in a meeting with the team leader wtf but three people came to my table and said he’d be with me shortly. Like waiting for the Queen. Sorry I came too early? Ordered the Prime Rib, no Prime Rib Tonight. Disappointing. Your choice of glassware untraditional. On the upside, staff very pleasant, albeit needing further training. Never give bad reviews but you guys need some work.
Great menu and very professional and attentive service!
Only drawback is IF you don’t see or are not informed of the price of the special: ASK
The menu is lovely- lots of options. Food was good. Most dishes were large. The Spatchcock was a smaller dish- which was surprising. They were amazing about making substitutions. The dessert was good and large portions. It was disappointing that we asked for candles for a birthday and that was forgotten.
Excellent food. Had a birthday celebration and it was a nice place to go.
We had a great time
Came early for dinner. We had the cornbread, delicious!
We ordered fried chicken salad, the fish, chicken and waffles and the prime rib.
The prime rib was dry but they replaced it with another entree of our choice. It was a very nice gesture.
Had the mousse, carrot cake, Biegnets and chocolate cake for dessert. Couldn’t have asked for a better meal! Thanks guys!
Noise level is the only challenge. Great food and amazing service.
The service was extremely slow (15 minutes to even get some initial water - and other drinks were VERY slow to arrive). The waiter didn't visit the table often enough, so we were out of water several times. This service issue has been an issue at the Tysons Corner FF as well. Was hoping for a better experience at this FF. The food was delicious, so it was unfortunate that the service put a negative on the experience. The restaurant has a great feel, and generally always has good foot. They need to take the service critique serious. I hadn't been back to a FF for a long time because of the service - and this was an attempt at giving it another try. I won't be going back anytime soon - there are other places that have good food and better service. Also, because we had 8 people, they added an automatic 20% tip, which was more than I would have tipped given the service.
Birthday breakfast for my wife. Always a great treat for my family.
Even with a reservation and plenty of seats in the spacious main room, they sat two of us for brunch in a cramped, charmless upstairs area and then sat a large party with many children right on top of us, even though the rest of that area was empty. Service was fine, but breakfast was really unremarkable to bad. The Protein Plate arrived with over- cooked scrambled eggs and a modest amount of breakfast meats and a truly white, unripe sliced tomato. The two poached eggs were somewhat firm on outside but completely uncooked liquid on inside - inedible. The biscuit was fine but unremarkable, and the fruit was unripe melon and over-ripe grapes. Coffee was fine. For a FIFTY DOLLAR breakfast - it was absolutely worse than what I could have had at IHOP. Disappointing.
