Founding Farmers - King of Prussia
Third visit to Founding Farmers, so we obviously like it. It’s a good thing this wasn’t our first visit, or we might not have gone back.
We ordered their bread and butter. Instead, we were brought the bread basket which was lovely, but pricier. Shortly after the basket arrived, the food came. We told our server we got the wrong bread. She told us the basket was”on the house” and she would put in an order for the loaf of bread.
In the meantime, our beverages were finally served. It’s great that they give you an individual can of soda and they nicely pour it for you, but when they poured mine I didn’t realize there was over an inch of water in the glass from the melting ice cubes which really watered down the soda.
As they were clearing our plates, our server realized we never received the loaf of bread. She did get it and bagged it for us. True to her word, we were not charged for any of the bread.
Although disappointed, we will give them another shot.
Food was delicious, great variety on the menu. Our waiter was a bit scattered and mixed up two orders, but other than that it was a great Easter dinner. My daughter was there another time and didn't have any service issues.
I have eaten at this Founding Farmers location before so I was quite surprised and disappointed with their service on my most recent visit. I made the reservation a few months out. I arrived a few min before the reservation time but our table was not ready until 30 min later. When they were finally setting up our table, I waked over and saw that we were to be seated in a small room with no windows and very little decor. One of the reasons to eat at this restaurant is the atmosphere and that table was in a room with nothing but white blank walls. So I asked if we could be please be seated in one of the main dining room’s, so we had to wait an additional 20 min before we are finally seated ... just under one hour of our reservation time. Our server was very nice, professional, and funny but painstakingly slow. It took another 20 min before she took our order as she first walked away, then returned to just take our drink order, then returned to take appetizers before finally returning to take entrée selections. It was then another 30 min before our meals were served. There were 8 of us in our party. One entrée did not come out ar all. An additional entrée (salad) came without the grilled salmon placed on top. When a server from the kitchen bought out the salmon for the salad, it was absolutely the saddest piece of salmon I has ever seen. A replacement was requested and it took another 15 min and served by a manager with an attitude. All in all, I’m not sure if I would ever give this Founding Farmers another go. But if I do, and this service repeats itself, I will never revisit again.
This was our third visit here and unfortunately, on this visit, neither the service nor the food was as good as prior visits. Our server wasn't around often enough. We had to ask for water and ask for empty drink glasses and dishes to be removed from our table throughout the meal. We loved the bread basked and wished it would have come with butter. We thought the potato and spinach perogies appetizer were a bit overdone as they were tough on the outside. The salmon dinner, fisherman's stew, and jambalaya were all good the two pasta dishes weren't that good: one was seven cheese and the other was a pepper seasoned pasta. Chocolate cream pie and strawberry ice cream were delicious.
This was my second time visiting, and again I enjoyed thoroughly all aspects of the dining experience. It is a great gem worth the 90 minute drive. Additionally, a member of my party had dietary restrictions / food allergies and both the hostess and waiter took it very seriously, very appreciative of that. Many establishments seem to only pay it lip service begrudgingly.
The service and food were impeccable. It was my first time there, but it won’t be my last.
Fourth time i have been there and nothing has changed. Appetizers take 35 minutes to come out and five minutes later they bring your meal. Entree was cold and took 15 minutes to get a drink. Waiters pretty much disappear.
Never eating here again.
We had reservations and still waited for almost half an hour to be seated. Our server was kind but not attentive, as he was trying to manage a larger party. The food was excellent as usual but the overall experience was not worth the price of the meal. Our server was well-versed on gluten free preferences which was very helpful .
Our party included 10 people for brunch we were not seated in time for brunch so we ordered from the menu. After waiting over an hour after ordering to be served lunch, 9 of the meals were terrible and a few were comical, the grilled cheese was a tiny 2 inch by 2 inch square sandwich, one meal was never served, my daughter's sandwich was sitting on a plate in a pool of olive oil. My son's steak was good. The entire restaurant's floor was so slippery you could barely walk. I think someone mopped the restaurant with oil . Sadly one of your employee's slipped on this dangerous floor and snapped his wrist right in front of us. The sound of his wrist breaking and then seeing this young man in such awful pain caused us to loss our appetites. I hope this young man recovers well. We will not be returning. I booked this because you Philadelphia location is very good you should just close this location.
We were seated in a dark corner with barely any lighting. Every other section was bright and open. Service was only fair. Will never return. Not worth the money
This is our 2nd brunch here. 1st time was excellent. This time was disappointing. Food was not as good & less choices. Fried chicken was dry, brisket was tough. Very crowded for Easter holiday so pans of things are emptied & long wait in line to get food. I'll go back to restaurant, just not brunch.
Cross founding farmer buffet off any list. Meats were all very overdone. Southern fried chicken looked good on outside but sucked all moisture from my mouth - looked like yesterdays dinner inside.
Ham and brisket were way overdone and dry. Made on order Eggs benedict was very bad - over thin sliced over cooked ham.
Meatloaf was good though so I had extra. Roving deviled eggs were OK but only gave you one at a time.
They asked at checkin about food allergies (L has dairy allergy), but kitchen wouldn’t make even scrambled eggs without butter and no options offered.
Place was packed though ???
Maybe better on regular menu than Easter Brunch - although would probably need to have different kitchen staff which is unlikely.
One of our favorite spots to have brunch. Best French toast around!! Waitress was great!! Had great personality. I wish I remembered her name.
Emily was great- so attentive and fun personality! Food was amazing! First time having brunch here and it was the best set up. We will be back soon!!
I have dined at the Founding Farmers in Washington DC and the food and service was excellent. I was very disappointed in the food and service at the KOP location. The waitress was slow, we could not understand her because she was speaking low. The noise level was not too loud, so we should have been able to hear her, if she spoke in a normal voice. We I received my food, my fries were just warm and my shrimp was over breaded and over cooked. I had to asked basic condiments, like ketchup. I will not be returning to the Founding Farmers in KOP.
Excellent food at very reasonable prices in a cool atmosphere. This was our first time here and we loved it! We will be back. Highly recommend the mint ice cream -- so fresh!
The food was decent but the service was not very good. It took forever for drinks to come and then the waitress often forgot things we asked for like a menu, straw, or a new drink. Overall a bit disappointed!
Overall, for our first time, it was a pretty good experience. The service was attentive, the food was delicious, and we were able to hold a conversation. While we barely put a dent into our apps and soup, the entrees came. Might just have been something in the kitchen but again, overall it was good. We'll try it again.
The rooms are beautiful, the service attentive and friendly. There just is a Lot of unnecessary calories tacked onto the food to make it "fancy". Definitely makes it more a treat/occasion meal than a frequent staple.
Brunch or lunch at 12:45?? Typically it would be lunch... horrible experience
Our brunch was delicious!
The food was fresh and nothing tasted like it was made in mass quantities, like some buffet places.
There was a perfect assortment of food to choose from and the staff was friendly!
Make a reservation now!
It was a great afternoon for brunch. The seating was great because it allowed you to people watch and enjoy the sun.
The service as always was excellent. A delicious meal in a fun atmosphere.
It was amazing
We were a party of five in which four had never met, unfortunately the noise level was such that a 5-way conversation was impossible.
Waitress was very friendly and helpful. Appetizers were actually our favorite, with Brie Bread, hot artichoke dip and hummus. Would probably do several of those and drinks next time.
Whatever chef was on this particular day did a great job. All of the food was amazing!!! And our waitress was tentative and sweet
Our server was not the greatest we've had. Food was good as always, but service can make or break a place for me. And this one broke it.
Booths are best. The food and service are wonderful.. don’t miss their BRUNCH.
It was our first night out as new parents with our baby boy and it was also my sisters birthday. Our food arrived late and was cold. We didn’t have time to wait again for more food because we are all on a time clock with our babies. It was a terrible experience for what was supposed to be a special occasion for everyone. It’s unfortunate, but I would not recommend coming back for our family.
OMG!!! This place is absolutely amazing!!! Now in my top 3 restaurants!!!!
Great food and even greater service. The restaurant's manager on due, "E", was extremely accommodating to our request. Everything about this restaurant is inviting, We3 will be back.
My husband and I have been to Founding Farmers several times. We love it there. Our favorite is the impossible burger. It is a great option for those who want to go meatless. One of the best veggie burgers I've ever had!
YUM! Thank you for sharing and we look forward to have you & your husband back soon! :) -Amy
Food variety and the quality was delicious. Giving a lower ranking due to the fact it was EXTREMELY crowded and busy.. and also parking at this location is a nightmare.
Bummer...our team is super let down that the rating for your enjoyable experience was compromised based on how busy the restaurant was when you dined, and for the limited parking in the plaza. :( That said, we hope to have you back and would be more than happy to suggest times that aren't as busy to hopefully boost your rating next time! :) Please call us at (484) 808-4008 for reservation help. -Amy
This brunch used to be amazing. Today there was about 2/3 of the usual selection and they pared down the passed items. Eggs Benedict was cold, even straight from the kitchen, salad was soggy and the iced tea was meh. Our waiter was awesome though and it’s a great space.
The wait times even after a reservation are obnoxiously unpredictable. The servers are cordial, but they don’t show up much during your time here. We paid for a dessert once and it took so long that we had to leave without having it!
Waited 35 minutes to get seated even with our reservation. Food was OK not sure it was worth the wait.
Bummer. I am super sorry to read that there was a delay with your reservation and the food served was only considered "OK". :( I understand your disappointment this time, and our team hopes to have the oppurtunity to host you again. This said, I will send you a PM to connect further. -Amy
We checked in with the hostess 15 minutes prior to our reservation and were told our table was being cleaned off and we would be called to be seated shortly. 50 minutes later, I asked why we were still waiting and was told that there were numerous tables that had paid their bill and staff was just waiting for them to leave so they could be cleaned off and we would be seated. It took another 15 minutes before we were taken to a table. Once at the table, we were promptly greeted by our waiter, that was the only time we felt as if our business was appreciated. The food was very good and the serving sizes plentiful however, the staff and management did not seem to think there was any need to please the patrons in terms of service or accomodation. If the restaurant is at capacity, you should inform those waiting that this is the case and let them decide to wait or go somewhere else. I believe that common courtesy and honesty would go much further to gain repeat business than the appearance of greed and being mislead. If we had been told our wait wait was going to be 45 minutes, we would have been much more receptive to that than being lied to.
Even with a reservation there will still be wait times. Overall excellent experience!
