   This was our fourth or fifth time at Founding Farmers (including once at the Maryland restaurant). Last night was a disappointment. We weren't seated until 35-40 minutes after arriving on time for our reservation. Once we checked in, we were ignored -- no updates, no explanation for the delay, nothing. Finally, my wife asked a couple of times and got minimal explanation. Once we were seated, the host did apologize for the delay. In ordering beverages, for some odd reason that wasn't clear from the explanation, only regular Coke was available (no diet or Zero). At the server's suggestion, I tried some sort of faux soft drink concoction from the menu; it arrived long after other drinks for our table and, again, the explanation about the delay made little sense -- something about the manager (or something like that) having had to help make it happen -- this for a menu item. While awaiting our entrees, I found the server and informed him that we were having a celebration for my wife: delayed Mother's Day and early birthday. He said, great, they'd do something for her at dessert. Fortunately, we decided to order a couple of dessert items. I think that's when he said to the table that the restaurant can't do anything special but that they'd do something with what we ordered. When dessert arrived, there was a single little candle in the slice of pie. I didn't expect fireworks, but that was more pitiful than getting nothing. Had we realized that was what would happen, we would've gone to an ice cream place around the corner. Food was fine and the waiter tried his best. We travel to D.C. often and our two kids live there. But based on our experience Sunday, I'm not inclined to return anytime soon. I received a 'thank you -- hope you enjoyed it' email from someone named Max Burgio. I replied with the above message and wasn't planning to write a review here. But it was kicked back. That gives the impression that Founding Farmers doesn't really care about feedback.

   Excellent brunch as always but OUTSTANDING service. Not only was our waiter, Douglas, great, but manager came out and gave the allergy-ridden person in our party a private tour of buffet and had some things brought bout for her specially seasoned so she could eat. It was most food she was able to eat at a brunch in years. Thank you!!!!

   Our server was wonderful as were the bar tenders, but I was disappointed with the hosts. Our table was 40 mins late on a reservation and they acted with no urgency. They told me 2 minutes and it was another 20. When we checked for the table 35 mins after our reservation time they seemed annoyed that we were asking

   Food quality was poor. We’ve eaten at three other founding farmers and have found the food to be high-quality. This was not the case here. We waited forever for our food and when my salad got there, it had no dressing on it. I asked for dressing and by the time I was done my dry salad the waiter came out to let me know they were out of dressing.
