Great food, service and ambiance.
Always my pleasure.
We took friends from out of town for brunch. The host needs an attitude adjustment. It was no problem that it would take a few moments to seat us, but at least smile and be pleasant when communicating that message. I recognize the host/hostess is the person on the "front line" who hears most of the customer dissatisfaction and I am sure that can be draining- but the host/hostess (hence the name of the position) needs to be a positive, warm and friendly ambassador for the brand. It's not at all enjoyable to be excited about showing guests your great city and a wonderful restaurant only to have the first interaction be less than optimal. Please hire someone who wants and understands the job. Once we got past the host - our experience was exceptional.
I have visited before and I wanted to share the experience with my sisters for my birthday weekend. However the guy at the host/check-in table was rude as heck! Not only to us but to others who walked up to check it. It was as if he didn’t want to be there. That is the WRONG position to have if you don’t like people. Besides his rude nature, the food was good enough to take his bitter attitude out of my mouth.
Went here since lots of reviews stated this was the place to go. I ordered a latte, Banana Foster pancakes and a side of fruit . The latte came out and didn’t taste like a latte . I asked my friend to taste it , she confirmed it wasn’t just me . The pancakes were enough for 3 people! Massive size , wish I had been told to order 1/2 order .
Here’s where I was shocked , my side of fruit was $7.00. It had a couple grapes , apples, cantaloupe , and strawberries . Fruit came with one of their breakfast options and that whole meal was $11.00, how can my side of fruit be $7.00 alone ?
Turned me off ....
I ordered the fried cod. Undercooked first time and second time. Ended up removing it from bill and settling for cornbread.
Fabulous again. We take my son to this restaurant every time we are in town. It never disappoints. The food is outrageously delicious and the vibe is fantastic. We'll be back!
Had a reservation for 4 people on a Saturday afternoon for brunch. Of course I didn't expect to be seated as soon as I walked in the door, however I was not expecting to wait 30 minutes. The food was fantastic! Just be aware of the timing when making a reservation.
Came for brunch, it was quite busy and we had a bit of a wait, but it wasn't bad at all.... obvious reason stp many people waiting, the food and experience was amazing... definitely going back
Don't go for the weekend brunch without a reservation and even then expect a wait of 10-15 minutes. But worth it. The bignets are excellent.
Outstanding food and experience! Would highly recommend!
The food was fantastic and a great value for the portion sizes and food quality. We loved the decorations and serving staff, and the food was fantastic as well. Overall just a great experience!
They have great food, but like most other restaurants they play loud music. It is hard to ho,d a conversation here.
Great food. Cornbread was amazing.
Food and service were excellent, as they always are at all the “Farmers” locations. I had a harrowing experience with my dear toddler near the end of the meal, that would have been even more challenging for us if the staff hadn’t been extremely professional throughout, taking it all in stride. I called afterward to apologize for the mess, and the restaurant staff were again gracious and kind. Thank you!
Hi DCNYE: Awww! It was absolutely our pleasure and please no worries! :) We already look forward to your return and call us anytime for a reservation: 202-822-8783. -Amy
In spite of having a reservation, it took 16 minutes to get to our table. In all, it took 1.5 hours from the time we walked into the restaurant to have lunch. Not very efficient...
Waffle was simple but good. French toast with banana foster filling was okay. It was not the french toast I was used to. The filling was not bad, but I did not quit enjoy the fried french toast. You might like it if you are in mood for deep fried desserts.
Had the one of the best breakfasts in DC. Our waiter Luis was outstanding
Excellent experience . The food was great. The drinks were great. The type of food was a little pricey. The bathrooms needed a little cleaning. But, overall, I had a very good experience.
In town for March for Life!
Our server Red was fantastic. Great food and drink recommendations.
Wonderful ambiance, energy was lively and positive. Food was lovely, fresh tasting, and comforting. Will definitely come back.(And bring friends!)
The staff was wonderful! The tables are too close together. Not a good place to go for date. The food was good.
We came an hour earlier than our booking and still got seated very quickly. The food was fantastic, and the service great! Love the place!
Service was terrible. Saw the waitress three times the whole visit. 20 mins before she would come back. This place is always like this. Way to popular for the small number of staff. Maybe they’re trying to save money and pay less servers, but the experience suffers for it. Great food. Not great service/management.
Delicious, fresh and large portions!! Come hungry! Pot pie had a great flaky crust on top! The corn bread has real pieces of corn and delicious side of honey and butter!
We especially enjoyed the beignets with the scrumptious sauces, fresh, decadent, and oh so satisfying...a must have!
Hi lovebrunch: Many thanks for your AWESOME review! We appreciate it and hope to have you back soon. :) -Amy
Food was so good I bought the cook book. The Mac and Cheese is a must. The sweet potato side is more like a dessert. Would definitely go back and get both of those again.
Their food portions are pretty big so beware on how much to order. Overall good experience. Loved the bacon burger but the ravioli was really bad like the worst I’ve had
The food was delicious and enjoyed the restaurant.
Took 25min to get the bill when the place was empty; probably because ALL the waiters were in the back tables eating instead of taking care of customers.
Always a great place to eat.
Fun ambience, great wait staff who give thoughtful recommendations based on what you like. We had the crab benedict and the beer can chicken, both very good.
As predicted from its high reviews, the restaurant was packed for lunch time. My party has a reservation and still has to wait for another 30 minutes passed reservation time to be seated. One person in our group needed to charge his phone but there was no plug available and staff did not allowed him to plug in their nearby counter. Other restaurants will do that without problem. In terms of food, food was good. We enjoyed chicken and waffles and vainilla filled french toast. Barley soup of the day did not dissapoint but the lentils stew was even greater. Catfish was good though we were offered first a Bronzino in meuniere style, the catch of the day, but it was sold out. Service should had been updated before offering it. Overall, we like the concept that all ingredients come from 47+ farms and everything is fresh.
My friend and I shared the beignets, and they were wonderfully warm and the sauces that came with them were lovely. I had the vegetable scramble with the hashbrowns. The scramble was pretty good, but the hashbrowns were a standout. The service was great and our food came out quickly, especially with how busy they were. The only negative we encountered was a 20-25 minute wait even with a reservation, and an incredibly crowded waiting area.
Phenomenal food and drinks! The bread with the Brie was the best thing I ate my whole time in DC
Delicious food. Service is what you would expect from a place that makes everything from scratch. Had two picky eaters and they cleaned their plates. Decent gluten free options - had a burger with no bun and it was amazing. The sweet potato is unreal and is like a dessert by itself!
The food was excellent. The corn bread is delicious. The restaurant was really busy and doesn’t have the waiting capacity for the volume. The tables are also really close together. We were seated at a two top and may as well have been sitting with the four top next to us.
I’m not sure “over-capacity” is a good problem to have.
Also, would suggest the servers write down the orders, part of my order was left off due to the server forgetting to order from memory...
Nice atmosphere, however, everyone’s food was cold, it took 35 minutes to receive our meals, one would have expectations of HOT FOOD!
Awesome meal and experience.
