We had a party of 7 and we think the tables by the bar are too small for any more than a party of 6. We had one less person on our reservation, 8 people don't fit comfortably at those high tables. Besides the table type, we enjoyed the food and our service.

We went in with a reservation on Monday night and got sat early which was nice. But overall we had a very bad experience especially with our server she is a tall woman with a light accent. She told me she was confused when she was putting in our food and was also very lost when putting in our drinks. When the food arrived, one of my family members in the table got the wrong item and we had to ask another server to call her over ( after almost 5 minutes of looking for her) when she finally arrived instead of apologizing she just said she just put it in again . Took like 10 min for the new meal to arrive , never once apologized or checked on us , never got the other beer my dad asked for. When i asked for a manager she proceeded to ask me “ why I needed the manager and that she didn’t understand the problem”….. like what . I never got to speak to a manager.

They couldn’t seat us at our reserved time. We sat inside waiting on our table to be ready for more than 30 minutes. When seated we ordered the buffet which was out of items by the time we were seated. Our bottle of Brut came with dirty glasses. Our server “lost track of time,” and didn’t tell us that brunch ended before we ordered it. So we only had the lunch menu to order from. We did not infect make out reservations for lunch.

The food and service was excellent as always. Although, the host seemed very overwhelmed with all the people there because of Mother’s Day. The host were rude and didn’t want to welcome anyone. You had to speak first to get their attention.

My family and I were really looking forward to trying this Founding Farmers given how much we love the Tysons location. We had reservations for 1:30pm for Mother’s Day brunch. We arrived on time, but they were unable to seat us until a little before 2pm due to crowd size. This was completely understandable. The brunch buffet was extended to 3:30. By the time that we were seated, they were out of salmon, fried shrimp, cinnamon rolls, pasta, and pancakes. I believe that they may have made more pancakes, but my child grabbed something else instead. So disappointed.

Mother’s Day here was terrible. So much food was missing constantly. We finally just gave up and asked for the check. If we did get something it was the last on the platter. Mac and cheese was bad, mash potatoes were good, but most of what we ate tasted like something I’d get from the food court at a mall. Waitstaff seemed very overwhelmed and overworked by 1pm. We expected long lines and for the place to be busy but I don’t think this restaurant was ready for the crowd.

Here's the deal we went for Mother's Day. Some wanted the buffet and some wanted to order off the menu. I think it should be allowed that you can do both. As long as people are ordering a entree from the menu there should not be an issue. However overall the food is good and the quality is as well. The other is place a time limit on seating when it comes to the popular holiday's. Most restaurants do a two hour seating at highly popular venues and I think the same should be done here. .
Founding Farmers & Distillers DC: ChinatownResponded 3 days ago
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Cassandra! We appreciate your feedback and completely understand the importance of flexibility, especially on busy holidays. We’ll take your suggestion into consideration about offering both buffet and menu options for guests. We also appreciate your insight on setting a time limit for seating during peak times, and we’ll be discussing this with our team. We are glad you enjoyed the food and quality, and we hope to have the chance to provide a smoother experience on your next visit! -Najjah

Overall very good. Had the weekend brunch for Mother’s Day. Only setback was it took very long for certain foods to be replenished. Ended up standing up waiting over 15 minutes for the Mac and cheese before deciding it wasn’t worth the wait. Kitchen must be able to keep up with the amount of people dining. Other than that everything was fine.
Founding Farmers & Distillers DC: ChinatownResponded 3 days ago
Thank you for sharing your feedback, Marcus! We are glad to hear you enjoyed your overall experience. We apologize for the wait on the mac and cheese and truly appreciate your patience. We will make sure to address this with the kitchen to improve timing during busy periods. We hope to welcome you back soon for another great visit! -Kiara

Great choice for Mother’s Day buffet brunch. Reasonable price and plentiful food the whole family likes. Seemed like they overbooked themselves a bit - waited 20+ minutes when we had a reservation - which is why four instead of five stars.
