   We had previously stayed at the hotel and were looking forward to our meal. What we did not realise was it would be a reduced menu because of racing at Cheltenham on the Friday. We were expecting the full menu- so a reduced choice so disappointing. What we had was nice but the younger waiting staff were a bit "off" wine ordered and plonked on the table- no serving it- cap still on. Later waiting staff better. Food fine but overall disappointing.

   We were made to feel very welcomed immediately upon arrival at the bar. There was a very relaxed feel to the place with the opportunity beforehand to sit in a lovely drawing room prior to entering the restaurant. The food and service was to a high standard too and the chef also took the time to ask the diners if they enjoyed their food and you could tell he was very passionate about his job, food quality and menu selection.

   We stayed two nights at the Clarence Court Hotel and ate in the attached restaurant Forty5 The Square on both evenings. There is a good range of starters, mains and desserts to choose from and chef Gareth produces meals of a high standard. The waiting and bar staff (although relatively new) were friendly, efficient and attentive. We would happily return for evening meals again.

   This restaurant was a great find and the food was all lovely and very tasty. The inventive chief was able to cater for all food needs and allergies. The fillet steak was so tender and melted in your mouth. The restaurant was part of a good family run hotel within walking distance of main high street. The hotel has its own parking and all very cosy.

   We'd made a reservation for 7:30. The chef came to speak to us beforehand to discuss my shellfish allergy and explained that he'd like to do a full clean down of the kitchen ahead of seating us because he'd been cooking prawns and wanted to ensure I was safe. We were very happy to sit in the bar while we waited. Once seated, the food was absolutely outstanding. Although we were eating slightly later than planned we weren't rushed and were able to enjoy our meal leisurely. The chef came out several times to speak to us and ensure all was well. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. Food was exceptional and the chef not only provided outstanding customer service but is clearly very gifted. This was a beautiful meal.

    Really enjoyed all three courses. Waiting staff were positive and friendly. Chef took time out to speak to all diners, and we were happy to provide some positive feedback. Fairly quiet evening, which was fine for us.
